She stood looking at the newspaper article about Damien and Chloe having supposedly
eloped overseas. There were a few pictures of them for her to see in the society pages. One of the two of them coming from the courthouse, Chloe in a simple cream–coloured dress and a picture of their hands, both were wearing wedding bands.
Though Damien was wearing a suit, he was also sporting a pair of crutches due to having a broken leg. There was no sign of either of their parents at the courthouse. That was a little
odd to her.
There was also a picture of them checking in and a few shots of their tickets that saw them with many lay–overs before they got to their destination in France. She shook her head, there were no shots of them with their families, only Damien’s mother, and she too had a ticket to
go with them.
She didn’t know if Garrett had, had anything at all to do with that. They’d been home three days now and those tickets had been for yesterday, an afternoon flight. But he had left this paper for her on the coffee table in their suite, that much was clear. He wanted her to see it.
No one had brought either of those two up around her at all over the past few days, and he’d
attended work as normal as had she.
She sighed and let it go, went downstairs to attend her yoga class, and she narrowed her eyes on him as he walked towards her coming from the gym, “You saw the good news?” he smiled
at her.
“I saw the paper.” she nodded but said nothing more. She didn’t want to think about it and the lengths he might possibly have gone to. Took a breath in and let it go. He’d been happy the past two days and no more annoyance or anger had been seen in him since Tuesday afternoon. He’d come home from the office smiling and in a good mood.
Been that way ever since and though she wanted to ask him the question of had it been his doing or not? She didn’t, though she did know Damien had never had plans to move away. He was to inherit his father’s company, so he would stay right here in Sante Fe. It was more than suspicious to her, but she would let it go for now.
Garrett had filled that giant soaker tub last night, and they’d both gotten in it and relaxed together, she’d been all leaned back against him, and they’d talked about their baby. Smiled

and laughed, and she’d told him she wanted to know what s*x their baby was. He’d just smiled at her and was okay with knowing.
Their next sonogram should be able to tell them if it was a boy or girl, and that had led them
to discuss baby names. Garrett liked Serena and Theo. She’d just smiled at him as he’d lay
there with her, then he’d changed his mind and chuckled and told her they’d better make a list.
Harmony had agreed, she’d liked some of the names but shook her head at others.
They agreed to keep the nursery as just that and when their little one was big enough to move
out of it, they’d decorate one of the other rooms to suit their child’s personality, always keeping the nursery ready for the next baby to come along. He’d asked her about how much of a gap she wanted between them, and she’d shrugged but stated two years would probably be good.
He’d not kicked back about that, but had taken the time to explain to her that she–wolves went
into heat within a week of being Marked and Mated. And then once or twice a year. She’d had
him explain it to her, and she’d stared at him for a long moment and then just shaken her
head. Understood he was in a round about way telling her it might not be the gap she wanted
between their pups.
They had an appointment with Deidre to check out that rooftop ballroom for their engagement party at 1pm. Garrett would be joining them. He had meetings this morning. There was no work for her today. She and Deidre, Melody, Anya and Conny were all also going to the
ballroom. She’d been told from now on where she went, they went, just like Garrett and the
boys.
They were all pregnant as well and Deidre was excited about getting more than one grandchild, as well as a bunch of pups all at once. After checking out the ballroom, she and the girls were all going shopping and this morning, she had a dress fitting with Maribella to alter her dress for the engagement party.
Her days were being filled up with many things that had her more inside the pack than out in the human world, but Garrett told her it would settle after the pup was born, and they’d had the Luna Ceremony. Things would kind of go back to normal.
That rooftop ballroom was massive as she walked around in it. Very grand and that ceiling was absolutely amazing. The place was currently in the process of being set up for a wedding on Friday night, and she could only imagine that getting married here at night or having the wedding ceremony would be a grand occasion.
“Night weddings must be amazing here.” she murmured as she walked about.
“It will be the perfect place for our engagement party, don’t you think.” Garrett smiled at her,

Have you been in our ballroom yet?” he asked a moment later.
“No, is it like this?” she asked.
“Yes, a big glass building so that Selena can see everything. I’ll take you there this evening after I finish my meetings.” he’d smiled at her.
She’d smiled at him, “Is that where the ceremony will be held?”
“Yes.” He nodded “It’s beautiful, you’ll like it. My grandmother designed it.”
“If yours is as grand as this, why don’t we use it for the engagement party?” she asked
curiously.
“So the city can read about the engagement and see all the happy pictures of you and I, our guests and where it was held.” He smiled, sliding his arms around her “you get to have all the
things humans would get.” He murmured softly.
“Should you say that in here?”
“It’s fine, everyone working in this room is wolfen, this ballroom. The entire building is owned by one of our affiliated packs, if they weren’t, we couldn’t be her at all.”
She nodded, had learned a little about allied and non–allied packs, though not really much, just enough to know they weren’t affiliated with all the packs in the state. “Who will you invite?”
she asked him. “I don’t really have anyone to invite that isn’t from the office or part of the pack.
“You invite all of them that you want. I’ll be inviting our allied Alphas and their Lunas. Their units and mates. You’ll get a proper introduction to them all at the engagement party. I think we should keep it to a hundred though. That’s a nice round number, and it won’t get crowded in here, and you didn’t want something massive. Though I could fill this room if you like. I believe it can seat up to 200 comfortably.”
She shook her head. “We don’t need that many.”
“It will be elegant and filled with flowers.” He slipped his hand into hers, and they continued to walk about. He pushed outside through a set of doors onto a balcony that gave them a view of the city, and he stood there with her leaned back against him, “What are you going to wear?”
she asked.
“Hmm, I was thinking about the suite I proposed in.” he told her.
Harmony smiled as she turned around to look at him. “You looked very nice that night. In all
black.”

“Did I?” he murmured softly, and she saw his eyes fall to her mouth. He was looking to kiss her and she knew it.
“Yes you did.” She answered and tilted her face up to his so he could kiss her all soft and slow, pulling her right into him and deepening it. She smiled and chuckled softly when he leaned back and muttered “Now look at what you did to me.”
“You need a minute.” she chuckled and patted his chest “I’ll give it to you.” and then she was
gone, ducked under and left him out there fully aroused and needing to calm down.
“You’ll pay for it, you know.” He called out after her and she laughed even more.
Yes, she was certain that he would find a way to do so, in their bed, likely draw out the wanton
need she had for him most nights and make her beg him to give her what she really wanted,
but she also liked how he could do that. She enjoyed the s*x as much as he did. Nothing ever
felt uncomfortable or painful, no matter how much s*x they had. She knew this now was tied
to the fact that her body was built to handle him and his needs, as was his for her.
Harmony smiled at him when he left, “Just you wait.” He’d stated as he’d gotten in his car, but
then he’d winked right at her, a happy cheeky grin on his face before he’d driven away, he
wanted to play with her.
She wondered if she could play with him. He could smell her from what she understood from many miles away. Though was now thinking about that, quietly in the car as they were headed
for shopping.
“What’s going on?” Melody asked her.
“I’m curious if your Mates can all smell you all the time? How do you hide from them? To play
with them. Or torment them?” she asked.
They were all chuckling in that car a second later “there is a game we wolves love to play. It’s
called hunt the prey, though you being pregnant, it might have to wait.”
“What does it involve?” she asked.
“One running from their mate at full wolfen speed, and the other chasing, or hunting their prey, so to speak. Ends up with s*x in the woods 100% of the time.” Conny chuckled, “I’m faster than Dallas, but I let him catch me, after a proper hunt, kind of corner myself out there so he
can catch me.”
“Do you want to play with Garrett?” Deidre asked her.
“I get the feeling he’s into fun and games. But I’ll never be able to outrun him.” She shook her

head.

“No, but you could hide from him. We have something called a scent masking spray, which will help you slip out unnoticed and be able to hide from him for a bit.” Anya smiled at her, Mates also have tethers to each other, and Garrett, being the Alpha, has a pack tether to everyone inside the pack, but you don’t have that at the moment so you could technically hide from him right now.”
“Interesting,” she chuckled “I need more information on that. I can keep it to somewhere in the
packhouse, a game of hide and seek so to speak.”
