Chapter 21
Celeste POV:
The long–lost nickname rang out, and Celeste seemed to be stunned, maintaining that posture and forgetting to react.
He didn’t know how much he had drunk to get so drunk, as if the two of them had never had a disagreement before, he habitually hugged Celeste.
Being held in his arms, I felt the familiar and warm embrace of the man, which was a great shock to me.
I tried to maintain my composure and reached out to push him away, but Dominic held my hand and kissed it.
His lips, full of warmth, gently brushed against the back of my hand, murmuring, “Dear, where did you go? I’ve
been looking for you for so long.”
Unable to hold back, tears fell from my eyes. It seemed that all the tears of my life had dried up this year.
I forced myself to hold back the sadness and asked, “Didn’t you push me away yourself?”
“Nonsense.” Dominic held me even tighter, his lips with a hint of alcohol landed on my earlobe. “The person I love the most in my life is you. How could I bear pushing you away?”
I pushed him away and asked, “Dominic, take a good look at who I am.”
The room was dark, the cu rtains were not drawn, and the faint light from the yard fell on my face. Dominic saw the glistening tears in the corners of my eyes.
“Dear, are you confused from sleep?”
He bent down, kissing away my tears one by one, whispering, “Celes, don’t cry. Who bullied you? Hubby will help you beat him to death!”
Although his words were childish, they made me cry even harder. I didn’t know how much he had drunk to become
like this.
If he had even a bit of sobriety, he wouldn’t forget his hatred, let alone speak to her in such a childish manner.
My wolf wailed in aggravation at my heart, and now this long overdue caress made it hard for her to contain her
excitement.
I buried my head in his embrace, sniffed, and tremblingly asked, “Dominic, what would you do if I died?”
“Nonsense, how could you die?”

“People die, it’s a part of life. No one can escape from birth, aging, sickness, and death.”
“Then I’ll die with you, sleep together, and be buried together.”
I tightly held onto his shirt, with a helpless smile on my lips. “You’re just talking nonsense. I’m afraid that as soon as I die, you’ll immediately celebrate by marrying someone else.”
As soon as Dominic heard this, he became displeased and quickly sat up, holding my hand and placing it on his chest. With no fabric to cover it, his firm and elastic skin pressed against my palm.
“Thump, thump, thump.”
His heart was beating fast, like a drum.
From above, Dominic, with a hint of alcohol, said very seriously, “Can you hear it? It beats for you. If you die, it will
die too.”
I nodded with tears in my eyes. “I can hear it.”
The man’s palm slowly landed on my waist, startling me, and Dominic’s body also pressed against me.
With a kiss carrying the scent of alcohol on my ear, even his usual coldness disappeared completely.
“Celes, let’s have a child.”
A child…
My tears flowed even more.
Feeling my trembling body, Dominic was frightened and hurriedly wiped away my tears. “Celes, don’t cry. Forget it.
I don’t want a child anymore. I just want you to be well, don’t cry.”
He held me tightly in his arms, feeling my trembling body, patiently comforting me over and over again.
I tightly held onto his clothes, pressed my head against his chest, my tears moistening his shirt. I softly called his name, “Dominic, Dominic…”
