Chapter 7
Sure enough, as soon as my parents‘ voices reached the hospital room, Alice rushed out and collapsed into my mother’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably.
At first, my parents were stunned to see me in the hospital, but it only took them a second to shift
their cold, accusatory gaze onto me.
“Mia, we only asked you to donate a little blood, and now you’re pretending to be sick and staying in the hospital? Hurry up and discharge yourself, go home, and cook for your sister.”
They shouted at me in anger, still not satisfied.
Alice whispered something in my mother’s ear, and immediately, my mother’s face darkened.
“And, I order you to apologize to Alice right now! Why did you say those hurtful things to her?”
I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly at their words.
They didn’t care why I was hospitalized.
I had lost my child, just been forced to have an abortion, and they were completely unaware, and
worse, they didn’t care.
At this point, I was completely heartbroken.
“Why should I apologize? What did I say wrong? Alice can do whatever she wants, but I’m not allowed to say anything?”
“If you know I hate her, why does she keep showing up in front of me?”
“Also, Jonah is still my mate. Until we’re divorced, she has no right to be clinging to him!“.
“And as for you two, since you obviously favor Alice and like her more, there’s no need for me to keep pretending to be your daughter. You’ve always hated me, so let’s just stop pretending.”
Everyone in the room was stunned, not expecting me to speak so boldly.
My father’s face turned bright red with rage as he lunged at me, clearly ready to strike.
“If you dare hit me again, I’ll call the police for domestic violence. We’re in the hospital, I can get a report done easily,” I said, my voice cold.
His hand froze mid–air, unable to come any closer.
My mother began to yell at me in fury.

“How could I give birth to such a selfish and venomous daughter? You want to sever ties with us? Without us, would you even be alive today?”
I thought back to my childhood, when I was often hungry, never knowing when the next meal would
come.
Every meal was like a test, depending on my parents‘ mood and how Alice treated me.
If it wasn’t for the neighbors occasionally helping out, I wouldn’t have made it through.
“Do you really love me? I’m your daughter too, why can’t you love me the way you love Alice?”
I was reminded of the envelope I had received a few days ago, with photos from my childhood inside. The memories came flooding back, and I couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Do you know why I’m in the hospital? Because I had a miscarriage. I was forced to have an abortion!”
“And yet you don’t care at all. You’re only worried about whether Alice will get a good meal when she gets home.”
“My child is gone. Do you all wish that I, too, had never come into this world, like this unborn child?”
I glared at them, fighting to hold back the tears.
“Mia, you’re all family. There’s no need to make things so tense. Just apologize and let it go,” Jonah spoke softly, trying to intervene.
I gave him a cold glance.
This man had never stood by me.
From the moment he forced me to donate blood to now, with everyone turning against me, even after I lost our child, he still remained indifferent.
Alice arrogantly stood before me, acting like she had already won.
“Alright, Mia, just apologize to me, or our parents and Jonah won’t care about you anymore.”
I suddenly laugh, cocking my head to look at her.
“You like to take everything from me, right? You like Jonah? I can divorce him and step aside for you to take his place as Luna, but I want a declaration severing our blood ties.”
“From now on, I have no connection to the Blood Moon Pack or the Crescent Moon Pack.”

“When I was forced to have an abortion, none of you did anything.”
“But maybe there’s someone out there who loves me.”
I held up the photograph tightly, speaking each word with conviction, tears slowly streaming down my face.
The room fell eerily silent, the tension suffocating.
Jonah was the first to speak.
He seemed dazed, his voice cracking.
“Mia… you want a divorce?”
Alice tried to act aloof but couldn’t hide her eagerness.
I spoke directly, not wasting any time.
“Here’s your chance. You better grab it.”
Of course, Alice wouldn’t refuse; she was eager.
My parents had always favored her and could never say no to her.
When I received the severance of blood ties declaration, Jonah’s expression shattered.
He desperately reached for my hand.
“Mia, you’re not really going to divorce me, are you? I won’t agree to this, I can’t agree.”
Alice, however, comforted him warmly, as if it was no big deal.
“Mia must have her reasons, let’s not disturb her!”
Then she quickly urged me.
“The papers are with you, just sign them now!”
I smiled, pulling out the divorce papers from my bag and signed them without hesitation.
Jonah lunged toward me, trying to tear up the papers, but I stopped him cold.
“If you tear those papers up, I’ll take this to the Werewolf Court. We’ll make this public, and let’s see whose reputation gets destroyed!”
His hand froze in mid–air.

After a long pause, it dropped limply.
“Babe…”
“Alpha Jonah, from now on, call me by my name.”
He pressed his lips tightly together, staring at me, realizing I wasn’t budging.
“Mia, I won’t divorce you.”
“That’s not up to you.”
I tossed the signed divorce papers at Alice and gave them my final order.
“Please leave. I need to rest.”
Jonah didn’t want to leave, but Alice dragged him out.
As they left, I heard Jonah’s voice rising in anger.
“Why should I marry you? If it wasn’t for you, Mia would never have divorced me! I love Mia, not you, Alice! She’s my mate!”
I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly.
His love meant nothing.
I flipped the photograph over and noticed a small line of text written on the back.
