Chapter 6
“Jonah, why are you crying? We’ve just removed a big problem for you.”
Luna Grace’s face lit up with a wide smile, clearly thrilled.
Jonah, however, looked stunned.
“What are you talking about? What did you do?”
“Didn’t you realize? We exposed her true colors. She wasn’t pregnant at all–what she was carrying
was fake!”
Jonah’s expression changed instantly. He grabbed her by the neck, slamming her against the wall. “Did you make her get an abortion?”
“What are you doing?!” Isaac rushed forward and pulled Jonah away. “She’s your mother!”
“Mia has been lying to you. She’s the one who hurt our pack’s reputation. We were just stopping the damage before it got worse,” Isaac explained, patting Grace’s back.
“That’s right! She even lied about hearing the baby’s heartbeat. It was all a trick!”
Grace recovered, sneering and glancing at Mia, who was lying on the bed.
“Did you… hear the baby’s heartbeat?” Jonah’s voice was strained, his eyes hollow. Tears streamed down his face. “You heard it, but you still made her get an abortion?”
“She kept lying, saying it was your child and trying to stop me from taking it. But we knew she was lying, so we had the pack doctor remove the baby. Now you’ll see she deceived you.‘
Grace motioned for the pack doctor to come in.
Jonah turned to look at Mia, realizing she, too, was forced into the abortion.
His heart ached, and he was rendered speechless.
“She was carrying my child… it was really my child. I could smell it on her.” Jonah’s voice was flat, devoid of emotion, probably numb from the pain.
“That’s impossible! Don’t let her fool you again!”
Grace retorted, but the pack doctor whispered something in her ear that made her face t
ì pale.
“Is she really the heir of our pack? Is she really Jonah’s child?”
The pack doctor nodded, and Grace collapsed to the ground in shock.

“It’s not possible! This can’t be true!”
Isaac said nothing, merely turning and walking toward the operating room. Grace immediately stood up, following him to confirm.
Jonah looked at Mia, his heart broken. “Is it a girl?”
I nodded.
He dropped his head, sobbing, his shoulders shaking.
At that moment, Alice entered, tears streaming down her face. She failed to sense the heavy tension in the room and immediately started acting like a helpless lamb.
“I knew it! Mia, you hate me! If you hate me so much, why did you donate blood to me? You’d be better off letting me die than making me live with your hatred.”
She said this while gazing at Jonah, who seemed lost in despair.
Usually, when Alice said things like this, Jonah would rush to defend her.
But now, Jonah was consumed with his own despair, sitting rigidly with his mind buzzing.
I didn’t hide my disdain for Alice.
Ever since I could remember, I’d always given in to her.
But she always took pleasure in tormenting me, never able to stand me having anything–my mate, or even my child.
Thinking about it, a surge of maternal instinct surged within me.
“Alice, do you only know how to say the same thing every time? I’m already tired of hearing it!
Can’t you switch it up a bit? Maybe try saying something that makes sense?”
“And why do you keep showing up in front of me when you know I can’t stand you?”
Each word I said left Alice more embarrassed.
She gnashed her teeth, glaring at me, something she’d never done before.
Feeling humiliated, she ran to Jonah, her eyes filled with tears.
“Jonah, look at how Mia is treating me!”
Jonah didn’t say anything. I smirked.

“Since you know he’s your brother–in–law, don’t you have any sense of decency, getting all tangled up with him like this?”
One sentence made Jonah immediately pull away from Alice, holding his arm as if trying to distance
himself from her.
Looking uneasy, he spoke to me, “Mia, don’t misunderstand. Alice and I don’t have anything going on. I only see her as a sister.”
Alice’s eyes filled with hatred when she saw Jonah’s desperate attempt to distance himself from
her.
I smirked coldly, adding fuel to the fire.
“You might think of her as a sister, but that doesn’t mean she sees you as a brother–in–law. Besides, do you really see Alice as a sister?”
Jonah froze in place, a hint of fear flickering in his eyes as he looked at me.
I hadn’t intended to tear our relationship apart so soon, but everything that had happened in quick succession had pushed me to my breaking point.
And after losing the child, this marriage that was already nothing but a shell had no reason to
continue.
“Jonah, we…”
“Mia, just rest. We’ll talk when we get home.”
“I…”
“I said, we’ll talk at home!”
Jonah’s hysterical shout cut me off.
He stood by my bedside, helpless, like a lost child, looking at me with pleading eyes, no longer caring about Alice behind him.
I raised an eyebrow, pretending to enjoy the moment.
Alice, seeing herself ignored, shot me a glare that could have killed, her eyes full of venom.
But she knew she couldn’t do anything to me. So, she resorted to her usual tactic–bringing up her parents to try to intimidate me.
I watched her every move without hesitation.
