Chapter 71 I Can Make This
Decision
“Renee! Wait! What in the world is happening?” Wait! Don’t drag me!”
Rosa struggled, trying to free her hand from Renee’s grip, but it was no use.
Despite Renee’s petite appearance, she was surprisingly strong. Her arms had an unexpected firmness to them.
The whole situation made Rosa feel both envious and frustrated. It wasn’t fair–Renee
was not only beautiful but also had a well–toned figure.
Without a word, Renee threw Rosa into a taxi and slammed the door shut with a
forceful thud. She bent down, staring at Rosa through the open window, her expression cold and unyielding.
“Listen to me. Don’t tell Nixon you saw me tonight, or I’ll make sure you pay dearly.
Got it?”
Rosa’s mind was a blur. It felt like she was trapped in some intense movie scene, and
she was the terrified lead. She was paralyzed with fear, not knowing what to do.
She stared at Renee, her words stumbling out. “You… You…”
Renee snapped sharply, “Shut up! Did you hear what I said?”
She lightly knocked Rosa on the forehead, pulling her out of her daze.
Rosa pointed at Renee, her voice shaking with disbelief. “What
there? Was it you who contacted the police?”

Rosa’s mind raced, and she remembered the person lying lifeless on the floor in the private room. Her voice dropped to a frightened whisper, as if someone might overhear her, “That person… the one on the ground… Is he…”
Renee replied flatly, “He’s dead.”
Rosa gasped in shock, her eyes wide. “What?!”
Renee’s voice turned icy, laced with warning. “If you don’t want to end up the same, keep your mouth shut.”
Rosa was trembling with fear, her legs unsteady, and without a second thought, she obeyed Renee. But as soon as the taxi pulled away, her fear began to subside. She pulled out her phone and immediately dialed Nixon. “Dad, I just saw Renee,” Rosa said, her voice shaking with a mix of fear and urgency.
“Where?” Nixon’s voice crackled through the phone, sharp with concern. “Rosa, stay with her until I get there,” Nixon instructed, his tone firm and urgent as he sat up in bed, preparing to leave.
His sudden movement startled Sally, who had been sleeping beside him. Hearing him speak to Rosa, she immediately thought something had happened to her daughter and grew anxious. She quickly got up, holding her bulging belly, her hands trembling. After all, she was eight months pregnant.
Meanwhile, Rosa quickly recounted the events to Nixon, her voice shaky as she relayed the terrifying encounter with Renee.
After hanging up, Nixon sat in deep thought, his brow furrowed. Sally, noticing his unease, spoke up with concern. “What happened? Did something happen to Rosa?”
Sally anxiously glanced at the time. It was late, and Rosa was still out, supposedly enjoying herself. Rosa had refused to attend the etiquette classes they had enrolled her in, preferring to indulge in fun instead, which frustrated Sally to no end. She couldn’t hide her growing anger.
Seeing the worry etched on Sally’s face, Nixon quickly pulled her into his arms, trying to reassure her. “Don’t worry, Rosa is fine. It’s Renee. Rosa said she ran into Renee.
“Renee is back? Really? Where is she? Why don’t you have Rosa invite her over for a family dinner?” Sally asked, her voice laced with hope.
Nixon sighed deeply. “You don’t know Renee. She’s stubborn, and she has a short temper.”
Sally’s voice trembled with concern. “What should we do then? If she refuses to sign, how can we sell the house? What if something happens to my baby? Nixon… I’ve been feeling more and more uncomfortable lately… I’m really scared…”
Her voice was filled with anxiety, and Nixon’s heart tightened. He immediately became anxious, gently placing his hand on her belly.
“Hang in there, little one,” he murmured softly. “I’ll make sure you’re born safe and sound.”
Sally placed her hand over his, caressing it gently. Her voice dropped, becoming soft and alluring. “What if… Renee absolutely refuses to sign? What should we do?”
The feel of Sally’s touch swayed Nixon. He kissed the top of her head, his voice firm with resolve. “If she doesn’t sign, I will make her. I’m her father, after all. I can make this decision. Please don’t worry, my love.”
