Chapter 63 I Need To Kiss

You

Renee’s eyes narrowed as she studied William, suspicion creeping into her expression.

“Michael?”

There was a warmth in her voice when she said that name that made William’s jaw tighten. His displeasure was clear. “He’s the one who planned your kidnapping.”

“1-” The words faltered before they could leave her mouth. Instead, she swallowed and asked, “What proof do you have?”

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask him yourself.”

She blinked in disbelief. “Where is he?”

His tone remained cool. “I’ve interrogated him for three years. He refused to tell me where you were, so I kept him locked up.” He met her gaze, unwavering. “Do you want

to see him?”

“William! What if you have the wrong person?!” Shock surged through Renee as she

exclaimed.

Three years. This wasn’t a few days, not even a few months. She couldn’t believe William had held Ray all this time. As they neared their destination, her emotions. clashed. The William she remembered would never do something like this. He was always strict, always followed the rules. This felt like someone else entirely.

“Nene-” he started.

Her breath caught.

William had never called her like that outside the bedroom before. The way he looked at her, full of unspoken emotions, sent another wave of unease through her. Something was definitely off.

“If you keep looking at me like that, I’m going to pull over,” he said.

The words jolted her back to the present. “Why?”

He smiled. “Because I need to kiss you.”

Renee’s lips parted, but no words came out. When she finally spoke, her voice was firm. “William, we’re divorced. Show me some respect.”

“We never finalized the paperwork. So technically we’re still legally married.”

Frustration flared inside her. “Then why didn’t you sign them? We agreed to end this. Isn’t that what you always wanted?”

“No.”

Her patience wore thin. He was being impossible, and she couldn’t tell what he truly

wanted.

The sharp screech of brakes then cut through the silence.

Renee’s head jerked up just in time to see the car pulling off to the side of the road. Beyond the windshield stretched an empty expanse, nowhere someone could be held.

She turned, ready to demand an explanation, but William didn’t give her the chance. His lips crashed against hers before a single word could escape.

A muffled sound was all she managed.

The space inside the car was too tight to fight him off. His hands found hers, fingers intertwining, locking her in place. The kiss, rough and urgent at first, shifted into something slower, deeper. His breath, warm against her skin, sent a shiver down her

spine.

“William-”

Her face burned with anger, but resisting felt useless. Eventually, she gave in, letting him

take what he wanted.

He felt it. That moment of surrender. His hands played with hers, his breath growing uneven as he savored every second. Only when he was satisfied did he pull away, licking his lips, his eyes dark with something unspoken.

“Nene… my sweetest…”

He whispered her name the same way he had in the past, the way he did when desire clouded his judgment.

Her voice was sharp when she finally spoke. “A good ex should be as good as dead.

Forcing a kiss on your ex-wife? That’s exactly what a pathetic ex would do.”

Tears clung to her lashes, but her expression stayed cold.

William didn’t react right away. Instead, his fingers brushed over her hands, tracing the rough calluses. She was raised in privilege, born into a life where her hands should have been soft and unmarked. What had she been through in these past three years?

She could fight now. She could shoot.

The thought of another man being by her side and teaching her those skills twisted something deep inside William. The jealousy clawed its way to the surface.

His lips found her skin again, trailing down her neck, over the curve of her collarbone. He left marks, claiming her in a way words never could. When his mouth moved lower, his breath hot against her chest, she stiffened.

“William, that’s enough!” Her voice was firm, a warning he had no choice but to hear.
