Chapter 35 He Wants Me To Sleep With You
Renee felt like she had been drifting through a never-ending dream-an eerie mix of
real memories and surreal, nonsensical scenes that made no sense. When she finally surfaced from the haze, exhaustion clung to her like a heavy blanket, keeping her eyes
firmly shut.
Darkness wrapped around her, thick and absolute. Maybe it was the nighttime? She tried adjusting to the darkness, but no matter how long she waited, her vision didn’t clear. A strange unease crept over her. Something wasn’t right. When she tried to move, the realization hit her like a slap-she wasn’t just sluggish; she was bound.
Her wrists and ankles were tightly bound. Panic pulsed through her veins. Where was she? How had she ended up here? What the hell had happened?
“Hello?” Her voice rang out, shaky but defiant. “Anybody here?”
Only silence greeted her. An empty, echoing quiet that sent a chill down her spine. The way her voice bounced back told her she wasn’t in an ordinary room-no windows, no
outside noise.
This had to be a basement or some kind of sealed-off space.
Who would do this to her?
Renee tried piecing together her last clear memory. She had stepped off the plane, left the airport… and then-a car! Someone had grabbed her in. After that, nothing but
blackness.
“Listen up, you coward!” she shouted, her voice laced with fury. “If you’ve got the guts to kidnap me, then have the spine to face me! Stop hiding like a rat!”
No matter how much Renee shouted, the silence swallowed her words whole. The eerie stillness gnawed at her nerves, making her feel even more trapped. All she could do now was cling to the hope that Ryder would realize she was missing and come for her
before it was too late.
Then, the sound of metal scraping broke through the quiet. A lock turning. Renee’s pulse hammered as she turned toward the noise, listening intently. A sliver of light cut through the darkness, creeping across the floor as the door inched open.
Someone was here!
Renee’s stomach tightened into a knot. She had no idea who hated her enough to go
this far.
A man stepped inside-average height, broad shoulders, solid build. The dim glow from outside revealed his face just enough to make out his sharp features. His eyes, cold and unreadable, found Renee’s immediately.
“You’re awake,” the man said, his tone dripping with disinterest.
Renee wasted no time. “Who are you? What do you want?”
The man barely spared her a glance. “Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to,” he said flatly. “Even if you do, I’m not exactly feeling chatty.”
Frustration flared inside Renee.
“I don’t know you! Who’s pulling the strings here? Get your boss-I’ll talk to them
directly.”
Instead of answering, the man flicked on a light. The sudden brightness was blinding, forcing Renee to squeeze her shut.
eyes
When she finally adjusted and opened them again, the man was right in front of her, leaning in-too close, too casual, studying her like she was some kind of curiosity.
A startled breath caught in Renee’s throat, but she refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing her scared. At least he didn’t look like a monster.
“Who the hell are you?” she demanded.
He didn’t respond but just smirked. Renee’s temper flared hotter. “What do you want? Why did you bring me here?”
Straightening up, the man let out a slow, amused chuckle. “Relax,” he said, eyes gleaming with something unsettling. “You won’t be here forever. As for why you are here? Well, you’ll figure that out soon enough.”
Renee clenched her fists, hating the feeling of being powerless.
“Let’s cut to the chase. How much? Name your price. Or tell me what your boss is paying you-I’ll double it. Just let me go,” Renee said.
The man’s laughter came quick and deep, a sound that made Renee’s skin crawl. “Funny thing is,” he said, tilting his head, “he didn’t kidnap you for ransom.” His smirk widened. “He wants me to sleep with you. So tell me, princess, are you offering double
for that too?”
Renee’s blood ran cold.
The man leaned against the wall, watching her reaction with mild amusement. “But don’t worry. I don’t plan on touching you… not before you’re sold off, anyway.”
