Chapter 348 Blood Test
“William? You-What- Come in quickly!”
The man behind the door, still in his pajamas with his hair disheveled, clearly had been
roused from sleep, yet he showed no irritation toward William.
“Aiken, check her quickly.” William cradled Renee tightly, and a hint of panic was
evident in his eyes as he looked at the man in his PJs.
Aiken Mitchell, William’s cousin, shared a family history with him; their grandfathers were brothers. Although their families weren’t exactly close, William and Aiken had
shared a bond due to their similar
ages.
“William, maybe you should move the jacket aside first,” Aiken suggested.
Upon hearing this, William’s eyes flashed coldly.
Quickly realizing his gaffe, Aiken corrected himself. “Put her on the bed first. There’s a
blanket inside.”
William nodded, carefully laid Renee on the bed, and covered her with the blanket. He then signaled with his eyes for Aiken to come in and begin the examination.
Understanding Renee’s importance to William and the gravity of the situation, Aiken proceeded with caution.
“There are no external injuries. Check if she’s been drugged with something,” William
instructed.
“Alright. In that case, I’ll need to take a blood sample to do further testing. I can’t confirm anything right now,” Aiken responded.
“Go ahead!” William’s brows were deeply furrowed in concern.
Aiken nodded and began preparing the necessary tools for drawing blood.
Just as Aiken was about to leave the room, Renee let out a faint whimper from the bed, her expression pained as if trapped in a nightmare, her fingers tightly gripping a corner
of the blanket.

William’s heart tightened as he stepped forward and took Renee’s hand once more, gently caressing her fingertips to comfort her.
“Renee I’m here,” he murmured, his voice low and soothing, resonating softly in the
stillness of the room.
Aiken paused to observe the tender scene, touched by the
emotion. His usually composed cousin showed such gentleness towards Renee, filled with tenderness and concern. It was clear why they had found their way back to each other despite the
years apart.
Shortly, Aiken came back with the equipment needed for drawing blood. He took Renee’s blood with utmost care, wary of causing her any discomfort and half-jokingly mindful of William’s watchful presence.
After collecting the sample, Aiken reassured William. “William, I’ll run the tests right away. Don’t worry too much.”
William responded with a small nod, his attention unwavering from Renee’s face.
Once Aiken had left, silence enveloped the room again. William sat by the bed, gripping Renee’s hands, his thoughts swirling around the camera.
He was anxious about Denton’s progress and was desperate to keep Renee from learning about the photos.
His thoughts darkened when considering those who took the photos, a murderous intent flashing briefly in his eyes.
His suspicions immediately turned towards Damir. Could he be the mastermind?
William closed his eyes briefly, and when he reopened them, his gaze was icy, devoid of any visible emotion.
What felt like hours later, the door opened, and Aiken entered with a serious look.
Turning to face his cousin, William was searching for answers in his expression.
“How is it?” William asked, his voice laced with tension and worry.
