Chapter 344 The Love You

Gave

William headed out early and came back holding a gift bag in hand. Felix, thinking it was a present for him, dashed towards him. “Daddy! Daddy!”

William picked him up, beaming as he planted a kiss on his cheek. “My little gourmet, always on the lookout for treats, aren’t you?”

Felix giggled and flapped his hands with joy.

William gently squeezed his nose and urged, “Be good, Felix. We’re skipping treats today. This is for Mommy. Here, go give it to her.”

Renee, overhearing the exchange, glanced over, puzzled. “For me?”

When Felix realized the gift wasn’t for him but for Renee, he didn’t get upset.

Cheerfully, he grabbed the bag from William and hurried to Renee. “Mommy! Look! Daddy got you a gift! Mommy, I want to see! I want to see!”

Renee broke into a grin and her eyes sparkled with delight. It was rare for William to surprise her with presents. She carefully collected the bag from Felix and opened it to find a phone box.

Renee stared at William, amazed.

William kept a composed look, but there was a soft glow in his eyes.

Renee unwrapped the box and saw it indeed contained a phone.

She looked at him, confused. “Didn’t you agree to let Jarrod’s girlfriend have it when he

called?”

William was caught off guard. “You heard that?”

“Yes,” Renee replied.

William explained, “This one is a different model.”

Sensing Renee might feel slighted, he quickly added, “It’s a special edition, actually better than the other one.”

Renee saw his unease and let out a soft chuckle.

William, unsure if she was convinced, offered, “If you’d rather have the other one, arrange one for you.”

“Didn’t you say this one’s better?” Renee asked. “I like it.”

Renee then took the phone and began exploring it. Upon logging into her Instagram, she

saw Sylvia’s post.

“The love you gave!” It was accompanied by a picture of a brand-new pink phone.

Renee chuckled.

In the past, Sylvia’s schemes had frequently irritated Renee. Reflecting on those moments now, she found them rather petty.

“Is Sylvia Jarrod’s girlfriend?” Renee asked, glancing up at William.

William was stunned. He looked at her in confusion and shook his head innocently. “I don’t know. I honestly don’t! If I had known, I wouldn’t have given it to him.”

He feared Renee’s anger. Sylvia had been at the heart of many of their past disputes.

Felix, smartly picking up on the grown-ups’ tension, wrapped his arms around Renee. He then said with his sweet voice, “Mommy, don’t be mad at Daddy! Don’t be mad,

okay?”

He then turned to William with a stern face and said, “Daddy! Say sorry!”

William quickly apologized, “Sorry!”

Renee was stunned.

Had William hesitated even slightly, Renee might not have been so surprised.

She handed the phone to him. “I’m not angry, but you should see this.”

William collected it and his expression immediately turned cold. He checked his own phone and saw that Sylvia’s post was not visible on his Instagram feed.

It was clear that Sylvia had posted it to specifically provoke Renee.

Renee said, “This isn’t the first time.”

William’s gaze hardened. He had no idea that had been happening repeatedly in the past. Now, he realized just how much trouble Sylvia had caused Renee!

And he had often taken Sylvia’s side, unknowingly adding to Renee’s silent suffering.
