Chapter 341 If She Couldn’t Have Him, She’s Destroy…
The phone on the bedside table rang. Sylvia reached for it. Her expression turned cold as she saw the caller ID.
She picked up, her voice lacking its usual warmth. “What now? Did they convince Nigel?”
After the call, a dark fury filled Sylvia’s eyes. In a sudden burst of anger, she threw her phone against the floor, smashing the screen.
Ignoring the broken phone, Sylvia sat on the bed, her thoughts racing. She couldn’t let William and Renee succeed! If she couldn’t have him, then she’d destroy him!
She wanted to see William on his knees, defeated and powerless before her.
“You okay?” A voice interrupted her thoughts.
Jarrod’s presence brought her back to reality as he stooped to pick up her phone. She quickly feigned innocence. “I… it slipped.”
Jarrod set the broken phone back on the nightstand and looked at her. “Come on. Let’s eat, and then I’ll take you out.”
Without a word, Sylvia threw back the covers and rose from the bed.
She stood there naked, unbothered by Jarrod’s gaze, and then strode confidently towards the wardrobe to find clothes.
Even with her back turned, Sylvia was acutely aware of Jarrod’s piercing stare on her- intense and complicated.
A slight smile played on her lips.
She chose a dress, held it against herself, and turned to Jarrod to ask, “Is this suitable for where we’re going?”
Jarrod looked at her and said, “Go for something with a higher neckline.”
“Why…” Halfway through her question, Sylvia caught on. Her cheeks flushed as she turned back to find something more appropriate.
Eventually, she chose a black sweater dress that offered more coverage.
The dress subtly brought out her elegance and charm.
A flicker of approval crossed Jarrod’s eyes as he admired Sylvia in the black dress. He approached, took her hand gently, and led her out of the room.
The car slowly left the villa. Sylvia sat in the passenger seat, occasionally stealing glances at Jarrod while her mind continued to weave plans against William and Renee.
“Where are we going?” she asked with a flirtatious lilt in her voice.
Jarrod, concentrating on the road, simply said, “You’ll see.”
Soon, the car pulled up in front of a shopping mall.
Sylvia appeared confusion, but before she could voice any questions, Jarrod was already at her side, opening her door.
It was an ordinary mall with a decent crowd. People couldn’t help but notice the luxury car that pulled up and the striking couple that emerged from it. Envious looks followed them as they entered.
Jarrod held Sylvia’s hand tightly as they walked in. She could feel the weight of many
eyes on her.
“Why are we here?” she whispered to Jarrod, her tone slightly whiny.
Jarrod said nothing but led her directly to a mobile phone store.
Sylvia understood. He wanted to replace her broken phone.
They were greeted cheerfully by a saleswoman as they stepped inside.
“Pick out the latest model, something top-of-the-line that suits her,” Jarrod instructed
the saleswoman.
The saleswoman had been subtly eyeing Jarrod from the moment they entered. Upon hearing his instructions, she finally shifted her focus to Sylvia. Despite maintaining a professional smile, there was a strange intensity in her eyes that Sylvia couldn’t help
but notice.
