Chapter 327 Her Marriage Will Serve Its Purpose

Jarrod received an invitation from Orlando. When he noticed it was sent by Nigel, his expression grew thoughtful.

“Mr. Doyle, if Mr. Payne establishes contact with Nigel, their chances of taking down the Mitchell family will only increase,” said Jarrod’s secretary, Bryce Wilde.

Jarrod lowered his gaze without a word.

Bryce hesitated before speaking again. “Sir, should we proceed?”

Jarrod lifted his head, his sharp eyes locking onto his secretary.

The man stiffened.

In a deep voice, Jarrod asked, “Any updates on Miss Payne?”

“No, sir. She still spends most of her time shopping and visiting bars. Nothing unusual.” After a brief pause, Bryce added, “However, there is one thing…”

Jarrod gave him a pointed look, signaling him to continue.

“Mr. Payne’s secretary arrived in Tofral.”

Jarrod’s brows furrowed. “When?”

“Just this afternoon. She landed less than two hours ago.”

Jarrod nodded, acknowledging the efficiency of the report. “Who has she met so far?”

“She left the airport and went straight to the hotel. As of now, there’s no

record of her meeting anyone.”

As they spoke, Bryce’s phone rang. The call was from the receptionist. Without delay, he answered.

“Mr. Wilde, there’s a woman here claiming to be Mr. Payne’s secretary. She

wants to see Mr. Doyle.”

Bryce glanced at Jarrod, who had already heard the announcement. His eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of caution passing through them before a faint sneer curled his lips. He gave a small nod.

A few moments later, a soft knock sounded at the door. Bryce opened it, revealing a young woman dressed in a sharp, tailored business suit. Her makeup was flawless, and her gaze was sharp, exuding confidence.

“Mr. Doyle, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said with a slight bow. Her tone was composed and steady, lacking the usual deference of a secretary.

“I’m Devyn Molina, Mr. Damir Payne’s secretary.”

Jarrod remained seated, leaning back in his chair as he studied her. After a brief pause, he said, “Damir Payne? I’m afraid I don’t know him.”

A flicker of displeasure crossed Devyn’s face, but she kept her composure. Without missing a beat, she pulled a document from her briefcase and placed it on his desk. “Mr. Doyle, this is Mr. Payne’s gesture of goodwill. After reading it, you’ll understand.”

Jarrod picked up the folder and flipped through it. The moment his eyes landed on the contents, his expression darkened. Inside was a marriage agreement for him and Sylvia.

With a sharp movement, Jarrod tossed the document onto the desk, his icy gaze locking onto Devyn. “What is this supposed to mean?”

Devyn’s polite smile remained, but there was a glint of satisfaction in her eyes. She spoke at an unhurried pace. “Mr. Payne is well aware of your history with Miss Payne. This agreement is a generous offer. If you accept, our collaboration will be seamless. When Mr. Payne arrives in Tofral, you

and he will make an excellent team.”

Jarrod let out a cold laugh, crossing his arms. “And what makes him think I’d marry a woman who betrayed me?”

Devyn tilted her head slightly, amusement flickering in her eyes. “Mr. Payne believes that, knowing you, you’ll agree. But even if you don’t, Miss Payne’s marriage will still serve its purpose. Either way, my trip here won’t

be wasted.”
