Chapter 304 Diminish His Authority
“My name is Cathleen White,” the girl answered softly, lowering her head.
The moment her presentation ended, the confidence she had on stage faded, and she quickly reverted to the shy young woman she had been before. Her steps were unsteady as she walked off the stage, clearly
overwhelmed by nerves.
The room erupted into warm laughter.
William glanced around before asking, “Does anyone have a different opinion?”
A murmur of discussion spread across the room as people exchanged thoughts in hushed tones.
William remained silent, letting the conversation unfold.
The project had undeniable potential. Cathleen’s proposal was still in its early stages, but with refinement, it could turn into something remarkable. The challenge, however, lay in funding and time–two things the company was critically lacking at the moment.
Complicating matters further was the recent flood of negative press surrounding the Mitchell family and
Infinity Group.
“If the PR team can quickly handle the backlash about Mr. Mitchell online, it might buy us more time,” someone suddenly suggested.
That was true. Most people had been hesitant to comment on William’s personal affairs, but at this point, his private matters were directly impacting the company. Ignoring them was no longer an option.
William turned to the head of the PR team.
The entire department had been running on overdrive for days.
“We’ve actually devised a relatively quick and effective PR strategy today, but it requires Mr. Mitchell’s
cooperation. I’m not sure if…”
“Go ahead,” William said.
“Right now, the most talked–about topic online is the child. People thrive on drama, and when the truth isn’t clear, they’ll fill in the blanks themselves. The key is to control the narrative–make a big splash when we clarify everything. That way, the focus shifts to our version of events rather than the rumors.”
“But you still haven’t explained how we’re supposed to clarify it!” someone impatiently cut in, turning to the PR
head.
“As I mentioned earlier, Mr. Mitchell’s cooperation is crucial. We need him to host a live stream to clarify his

relationship with Ms. Carter and directly address the rumors about the child.”
The room erupted in murmurs, voices overlapping as the suggestion sent a ripple of shock through the crowd. William’s expression remained unreadable, though his brows drew together slightly. He wasn’t particularly keen
on the idea of a live stream.
But the PR head pressed on, “Live streaming is a dominant trend right now–something we cannot ignore. Many struggling domestic brands, on the verge of collapse, have turned to it as a last resort. At first, they had no orders at all–then, overnight, they were flooded with them.”
“But Mr. Mitchell…”
William was the esteemed head of the Mitchell family. Wasn’t live streaming beneath him? Wouldn’t it make
him seem desperate?
To everyone’s surprise, William’s voice cut through the noise. “Then let’s do this. Go ahead and arrange it.”
The PR head blinked, momentarily caught off guard. She had expected resistance–maybe even outright refusal. But he had agreed without hesitation. For a brief moment, the entire room stilled as people exchanged glances,
as if unsure they had heard him correctly.
“Fantastic! I’ll get started immediately!”
Without waiting another second, the PR head bolted from the room. She wasn’t well–versed in technical jargon anyway–better to focus on what she did best.
Meanwhile, the managers from other departments launched into an intense discussion over William’s decision.
Surprisingly, more than half opposed it.
Those against the idea insisted that someone of William’s stature resorting to live streaming was outrageous. While it would certainly make waves, it might also diminish his authority.
