Chapter 286 It’s Time For The Mitchell Family To St…
“Mr. Pierce, are we really going to follow Miss Moran’s plan? We’re talking about the Mitchell family here…” Karin asked with evident concern, her
brow furrowed.
“Yes, we are,” Aelfric responded, his tone firm, though there was a slight edge to it. “But how we proceed is not for Ivory to dictate.”
After a pause, he continued, “Contact a few popular social media influencers. Let them know what we need, but make sure everything is reviewed before it’s posted online.”
Karin hesitated for a moment, clearly unsettled, but nodded quickly. “Understood, Mr. Pierce. I’ll get on it right away.”
As soon as Karin left, the door to the office swung open with force. A woman, impeccably dressed in high fashion, draped in luxury brands, and exuding both confidence and authority, strode in.
“Aelfric, what is going on here? Is this how you manage your artists? Have you even grasped the gravity of Etta’s scandal? Now, the scrutiny is on all of our artists!” Deanna Fuller’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
Upon seeing her, Aelfric immediately rose to his feet, his posture rigid and respectful. “Ms. Fuller,” he greeted her, his voice steady and tinged with respect.
Deanna was a titan of the entertainment industry, an influential businesswoman whose name alone commanded attention. She was Aelfric’s superior. Even Aelfric’s position as the most sought–after agent was insignificant in her presence.
“Spare me the pleasantries. I need to know what you’re planning to do next,” Deanna said, her voice devoid of patience.
She then took Aelfric’s seat, crossing her legs with a calculated ease that made it clear who was in control. Despite the fact she was looking up at Aelfric, her gaze was laced with superiority.
Aelfric carefully relayed Ivory’s suggestions and shared his own thoughts on the matter. But when it came to discussing the Mitchell family, his words faltered. He hesitated. After all, he had no clue where Deanna stood on this issue.
Deanna sat in silence, her expression cold, listening intently.
Aelfric, unsure of her stance, stood by, his nerves evident as he waited for her response.
Deanna’s fingers drummed steadily on the desk, her piercing gaze never leaving him. “What makes you think I would go against the Mitchell family?” she asked, her voice laced with authority.
Aelfric’s mind raced as his gaze lowered, his throat tightening. He dared not speak a word.
In Tofral, the Mitchell family was the reigning family, while the Fuller family ranked third. Deanna’s ambitions were no secret–she had worked tirelessly for years to expand the Fuller family’s influence. Aelfric knew all too well that her vision stretched far beyond the confines of her family’s current power.
But now, to voice such thoughts? He couldn’t bring himself to do it.
“I… I think…” he stammered.
“What’s wrong? Are you scared? If you’re afraid now, how do you expect to target the Mitchell family?” Deanna’s voice was sharp, her gaze unwavering.
Aelfric swallowed hard, but he quickly gathered himself. “No, Miss Fuller, I’m not afraid. If you approve, I’ll make sure this matter is handled properly.”
“High stakes, high rewards,” Deanna said, leaning back in the chair with her arms crossed, her posture relaxed but her words carrying weight. “If this works out, Aelfric, I’ll make sure you’re rewarded. But if it fails, I’ll find a way to shield you.”
The moment Deanna’s words registered, Aelfric’s anxiety dissolved into exhilaration. His heart raced, and a gleam of ambition flickered in his eyes. His posture straightened, his resolve solidifying.
He quickly said, “Ms. Fuller, you have my word. I will ensure this is handled flawlessly, and I won’t let you down!”
Deanna rose from her seat, her heels clicking sharply against the floor as she walked over to the window. She gazed down at the city below, her expression cool and composed, though her eyes betrayed the fire of ambition that burned within her.
“The Mitchell family has held Tofral in their grasp for far too long, their influence seeping into every corner of this city,” she said, her voice low but resolute. “If we seize this opportunity to weaken them, it could pave the way for my family. It’s time for the Mitchell family to step down.”
