Chapter 285 That Will Be Interesting
“Renee has a son.” Ivory’s words were delivered with a sharp, concise tone.
Aelfric’s face hardened, his voice cool and dismissive. “Miss Moran, I don’t get involved in illegal schemes. If you’re not serious about working with us, I suggest you leave now. Karin-”
“Mr. Pierce!” Ivory, realizing that Aelfric was about to dismiss her, quickly spoke up, her voice pleading for attention. “I won’t do anything unlawful. I simply wanted to bring up the fact that you could start with Renee’s son. Isn’t there a rumor circulating that she and William are no longer married? Her son was born after their supposed divorce. You-”
“That’s nonsense!” Aelfric spat, his anger rising. “If they were really divorced, would William be protecting her like this? Get out of here! Don’t bring more trouble to my doorstep!”
He waved his hand dismissively, his patience wearing thin.
Ivory, now flustered and far less composed than earlier, rushed to say, “It doesn’t even matter whether they’re divorced or not. The real issue is that Renee left for three years, and during that time, she had a son! We can easily spin a story about the father’s identity! This would shift the public’s attention toward Renee, distract people from the news about Etta, and even allow you to get your revenge!”
Aelfric’s face softened just a fraction. A spark of cunning flickered in his eyes. His features brightened slightly, the dark clouds of his frustration giving way to a sly smile. “Miss Moran, tell me what else do you have in mind? You have come to me, so you must already have a plan in place. Let’s hear it.‘

Ivory, no longer pretending to be hesitant, leaned in, her tone now direct as she said, “Mr. Pierce, you know better than anyone in this industry how to craft a narrative. Let your imagination run wild–what dirt can we throw at her to cause the most uproar? We need something big, something that will pull all the attention off of Etta and onto Renee!”
A sinister grin curled at the corners of Ivory’s mouth. “For instance, we could spread the rumor that she lived a reckless, indulgent life. Or even better, we could make it known that William is raising a child that isn’t even his! What if we tie Renee and Eric together, letting the online masses speculate about the true reasons behind Renee and William’s supposed divorce? That will be interesting, right?”
Aelfric’s expression mixed excitement with a touch of nervousness as he contemplated the possibilities. “Are we really allowed to go that far? After all, we’re talking about the Mitchell family here.”
Ivory scoffed, her sneer dripping with disdain, “The Mitchell family has been at the top of Tofral for far too long. Don’t you think it’s time for a change? Time for other families to rise, right?”
“Oh?” Aelfric raised an eyebrow, his voice tinged with curiosity. “It seems you have some connections I don’t know about.”
Ivory merely smiled, offering no direct response. Instead, she smoothly changed the topic. “Mr. Pierce, since we’ve reached this point, shall we
consider our collaboration official?”
Aelfric extended his hand with a polite but calculated smile. “Of course,
Miss Moran. It’s a pleasure doing business with you.”
Ivory shook his hand, her voice steady. “In that case, I’ll leave the management of public opinion to you, Mr. Pierce. As for the Mitchell family, I’ll take care of the pressure. You don’t need to worry–I won’t let you be affected.”
Aelfric chuckled heartily, his tone warm but laced with an underlying tension as he called for his assistant.
“Karin! Please escort Miss Moran out, and make sure to select a gift for her from the warehouse,” he said.
Ivory politely declined, her smile unwavering. “There’s no need for that, Mr. Pierce. I look forward to our future cooperation.”
Once Ivory was out of sight, Aelfric’s smile vanished instantly, replaced by a cold, calculating look. While cooperation was acceptable, he knew better than to fully trust Ivory. He believed this woman was far from ordinary.
