Chapter 273 The New Side
Of William
Renee’s heated confrontation at the hospital entrance was caught on camera and quickly went viral. Within hours, Etta’s fans erupted with anger, flooding the internet with insults and accusations. The outrage spread like wildfire, and soon, Renee’s past was dragged into the spotlight, with every so–called misdeed unearthed and dissected.
“She ambushed a well–known blogger outside a hotel and completely wrecked their career! I swear, people with money always think they are
untouchable.”
“She has been the ‘other woman‘ more times than one can count! Let’s not forget, she even snatched her ex–husband from someone else! And after the divorce? She had the audacity to parade around online saying he was still yearning for her!”
“That’s rich! Bet she even forced her ex to stay single for three years just to keep up appearances. Women like her? Absolutely terrifying!”
Just when things couldn’t get any worse Ivory posted a video on a major social platform, publicly calling Renee out.
“Hey everyone, I used to be a nurse, but I lost my job because of Renee! She pulled strings, bribed my superiors, and got me fired–just because I wouldn’t bow and scrape like a personal maid during her hospital stay. Now, I’m struggling to find work in the medical field, and with a seriously ill mother depending on me, life is so tough. But tell me—are nurses supposed to be servants? Are we expected to wait on patients hand and foot? Just because I refused to be her personal attendant, she destroyed my career!
Please, help me seek justice!”
Ivory’s video spread like wildfire, throwing Renee into the eye of a public storm. Within hours, Renee was under relentless scrutiny.
Some enraged netizens even managed to dig up her home address–Rose Villa. Before long, a furious crowd had gathered at the entrance of Rose Villa, forcing security to stay on high alert through the night.
Watching the growing mob outside, William scowled. “Why don’t you stay at the old house for a few days? Felix is there anyway,” he suggested.
Renee took one look at the angry protestors blocking the gate from her car, and fury burned in her eyes.
She swiftly gathered her hair into a high ponytail, her movements sharp and impatient. With a fiery glint in her eyes, she snapped, “This measly bunch? They are barely enough to get my blood pumping! I can take them all out. I want to see what they’re really capable of!”
Having endured the situation for several days, Renee was practically itching for a fight.
Just as she reached for the car door, a firm but warm grip closed around her wrist to stop her.
Renee spun her head around, her gaze ablaze with frustration. “Don’t you dare try to stop me! Let go!”
But William only smiled gently. His voice was soft, almost coaxing, as he said, “I’m not stopping you, Nene…”
His thumb traced slow, teasing circles against the back of her hand—a touch that seemed to soothe and flirt.
William continued, his tone light but unwavering, “Just let me handle this, will you? Otherwise, I wouldn’t even know what use I have to you.”
Renee fell silent.
William’s smile softened, his voice dipping into a gentle, almost pleading murmur. “Let me fight them for you, hmm?”
Renee still remained silent, her thoughts tangled in a whirlwind of emotions.
Did William even hear himself right now?
Fight them for her?
As one of the most prominent figures in Tofral, William throwing a punch like this would be like tossing a match into dry grass–his family’s reputation would go up in flames.
Worse, his father’s career could take a hit, too.
Yet, before Renee could fully wrap her head around it, William reached for the car door. Alarmed, Renee grabbed his arm.
“What do you think you’re doing?” she said.
William’s lips curled into a mischievous smirk. “I am going to fight for my wife.”
Renee stared at him, stunned. Since when had he become so defiant, so unapologetically bold? Where was the straight–laced, rule–abiding William she had always known?
As kids, she had spent years trying to drag him over to the wild side, testing every trick in the book just to get him to break a rule or two. She had always been curious–what would William’s wild side look like?
Now, her wish had finally come true.
And yet, she got scared by this side of him.
