Chapter 260 Don’t Call The
Police
“In that case, there’s no need to bother,” Rence said, her voice calm but laced with an air of superiority.
Her expression was impassive, as if she were merely observing a spectacle for her own amusement.
At that moment, the door swung open.
The woman who appeared was clearly taken aback upon seeing Renee in the living room. Her expression
shifted slightly in an instant.
“How… How did you find my house? What are you trying to do here?”
Renee let out a soft laugh, the situation so absurdly amusing that she almost applauded mockingly.
“Ivory… Well, well! So, this is your daughter?” Renee asked, her tone playful yet sharp as she turned to look at
Valery.
“You’re trespassing! I can take legal action against you!” Ivory exclaimed in anger.
“Go ahead!” Renee responded, laughing boldly. “Should I call the police for you?”
She pulled out her phone, her gaze deliberately shifting to Valery, observing her reaction.
When Valery saw Renee’s calm intention to make the call, her panic escalated. She rushed forward to stop her.
“No… Please don’t!”
Ivory, clearly confused, looked back and forth between Valery and Renee.
She asked Valery, “Mom, what’s going on?”
Valery appeared stricken with fear.
“We can’t involve the police.” She gazed at Ivory with a look of helplessness, her voice soft and pleading. “Ivory,
we really can’t involve the police.”
“Mom!” Ivory snapped, her anger rising. “Did she say something to you? Don’t be scared! No matter how rich she is, she can’t do anything to you! I’ll take care of this.”
Renee, still composed, patiently watched the unfolding drama.
Ivory, seeing that Renee remained unshaken, grew even more agitated. “Renee, didn’t you say you’d call the police? Go ahead, I dare you! Let’s see if your power can protect you when you are caught in the act!”
Renee nodded, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Maybe it will!”
“You!” Ivory’s face turned pale with anger as she pointed at Renee, her voice trembling. “Fine! I’ll call the police right now! Do you think I’m scared of you?”
“No! Ivory, you can’t, please!” Valery rushed over to stop Ivory, clutching her hand before she could make the
call.
Ivory, fuming, figured that before she had returned, her mother must have been threatened by Renee.
She tried to comfort Valery, her voice firm with resolve. “Mom, don’t be afraid! The more we fear people like her, the worse they get! She thinks she’s untouchable just because she has some money!”
Seeing that Ivory wasn’t backing down, Valery sighed, pulling her aside. She then whispered urgently, explaining the situation to her.
Ivory’s face grew awkward as Valery explained the situation, and she began to calm down.
She soon realized that her earlier behavior had been excessive. If they really pursued this, it was uncertain who
would end up in trouble.
Ivory took a deep breath, trying to soften her tone. “Let’s try to work this out peacefully.”
Renee gave a small, knowing smile. “So, no police then?”
Ivory’s pride flared, and she quickly turned away, trying to mask her discomfort. “What do you want?”
Renee simply shrugged, her expression calm. “An apology, compensation, and… If you truly want to keep your
mother out of the police’s hands, you’ll wash my clothes for a week.”
“What did you just say?” Ivory blinked in disbelief, wondering if she had misheard.
Was Renee seriously asking her to wash her clothes for a week?
“Renee, don’t push this!” Ivory snapped, realizing Renee wasn’t joking. She was so furious right now. “If you’re going to humiliate me like this, then don’t blame me for being harsh!”
Ivory grabbed her phone with renewed resolve, turning to her mother. “Mom, don’t worry! I won’t let you go to jail! We will compensate her for the damage you caused to her car. As for her…”
Ivory’s tone shifted to cold fury. “Call the police! She is trespassing! Don’t be scared, Mom!”
