Sister
Renee took a step forward and, with force, twisted Ethan’s index finger.
She then warned, “Do you know how to speak properly? If not, I could always teach you how!”
“Stop! Let go!” Ethan exclaimed in pain.
Ethan’s assistant rushed out of the car, trying to pull Renee away. But as soon as he attempted to intervene, Renee swiftly seized his hand and twisted it back, making him cry out in agony. “Ouch! It hurts… It really hurts… Miss, please, let go! We can talk this through calmly!”
Noticing the commotion, a traffic officer rushed over to the scene.
Renee threw him a quick glance, offering him a sweet smile. “Officer, we’re just playing around here. This gentleman doesn’t know how to talk properly, so I’m giving him a little lesson. Right?”
She emphasized the last word, her voice carrying a subtle threat as she added more pressure to Ethan’s finger.
“No… I mean, yes! Yes!” Ethan tried to deny it at first, hoping to seek help from the officer. But the moment he opened his mouth, Renee’s grip tightened. He couldn’t understand where she got such strength, and the pain
was making him dizzy.
The officer observed the peculiar situation with suspicion. He could tell what Renee was doing, but given that she was a woman, how much harm could she cause to two grown men?
“Since the surveillance footage is clear, Miss, this gentleman didn’t damage your car. As for when your car was hit, you can check your dash cam and file a report at the station.” The officer spoke with a sense of duty, and seeing that there was no further issue, he added, “Miss, you’re free to leave now.”
Renee flashed him a smile and expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you, officer!”
The traffic officer couldn’t help but feel flustered at being addressed so politely by such a beautiful woman. He nervously adjusted his hat and then just looked at Renee.
Renee returned his gaze, her expression curious.
The officer kept his gaze fixed on her, and when she remained still, he gently repeated, “Miss, you’re free to go
now.”
Renee snapped out of her daze. “Oh… Right, of course!”
Only then did Renee release her grip on Ethan and his assistant.
Both men were drenched in sweat, their bodies sagging with relief as soon as they were freed. It felt like they had been given a second chance at life!
Having their fingers twisted like that was pure agony.
“Well, officer, we’ll be on our way now. You can get back to your work!” Renee said, guiding Rosa into the car.
Once inside, she started the engine, her mind racing as she tried to piece together where her car could’ve been struck without her noticing. How dare someone have hit her vehicle and driven off like nothing had happened? The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. “Damn it!” she muttered under her breath.
In the back seat, Rosa, still trembling from the encounter, winced at Renee’s curse and quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, sis-”
Renee frowned, her gaze flicking to Rosa through the rearview mirror, her voice laced with irritation. “Rosa, stop calling me sister. We are not blood–related! I’m not your sister!”
Rosa’s face crumpled, and fresh tears began to fall.
Renee’s frustration deepened. Why did Rosa’s post–traumatic stress have to drag her into this mess?
“Stop crying!” Renee snapped, tossing a box of tissues toward the back seat.
The box hit Rosa squarely in the face.
Renee sighed heavily, not expecting that at all.
She really hadn’t done that on purpose.
But Rosa, thinking Renee was angry at her, sobbed even louder, as if deeply wronged.
Renee’s head felt like it was spinning, her ears ringing with the noise. “For heaven’s sake, please stop crying! I’m begging you!”
