Chapter 254 The Truth
“If I don’t get out, what then?” Ethan shot back.
Renee remained silent.
It had been a long time since anyone had dared to challenge her so openly.
Her gaze drifted to the brick she had thrown earlier. The urge to pick it up and teach this man a lesson flickered through her.
However, just then, her eye caught sight of a traffic police officer approaching.
A traffic police checkpoint was nearby, and with the ongoing pile–up, it didn’t take long for the traffic to grind
to a complete halt. The situation was growing more serious, and it was only a matter of time before the police
arrived at the scene.
The other drivers had already pieced together the facts, clearly identifying who was at fault for the accident.
The only stalemate remained between her and the Bentley owner, who stubbornly refused to leave his car. As
the traffic police approached to assess the situation, the tension only grew.
Renee tilted her chin slightly, gesturing toward the man sitting nonchalantly in the back seat of the Bentley, as she said plainly to the officer, “He rear–ended me–and it was intentional!”
The moment her words left her mouth, Renee felt the weight of the man’s gaze from inside the car, sharp and
laden with unspoken meaning.
The window of the Bentley slowly rose, and the man sat up straight, his gaze forward, his demeanor aloof and
indifferent.
As the window closed, there was only Renee’s reflection on the tinted glass, and for a moment, she was at a
loss for words.
Renee was left momentarily speechless.
This man–was he always this insufferably arrogant?
It appeared the driver had received some sort of signal from the haughty man, as he finally stepped out to engage in negotiations. However, he wasted no time in outright denying Renee’s accusation.
“We didn’t rear–end you,” he replied, his tone flat and unyielding.
“Oh?” Renee responded, a sarcastic smile curling at the corners of her lips. Renee shot back with a mocking grin, “Care to check your dashcam footage? I’m curious if you’ll still be this bold after we go over the road traffic surveillance footage.”
The traffic officer, experienced and quick to assess the situation, cast a brief glance at their vehicles, immediately piecing together the likely cause of the incident. Nevertheless, in the interest of fairness, he still took the time to review the dashcam footage.

Renee, confident about the outcome, was taken aback when the footage revealed that the Bentley hadn’t
actually rear ended her.
The sun beat down mercilessly, and Renee, exhausted and frustrated, swayed slightly on her feet. Rosa, noticing, reached out to gently tug at her sleeve.
This entire situation felt incredibly uncomfortable…
Renee instinctively lifted a hand to her forehead, wiping away the sweat, feeling a wave of frustration wash over her. She had been so certain, so resolute in her demand for justice, only for it to end in this humiliating
way…
She had never felt so utterly embarrassed in her life.
“Alright…” she muttered under her breath.
“Go apologize to them for us.” Renee gave Rosa a firm push.
Rosa paused, her eyes flicking to Renee, who was staring at her intently, urging her on. With a reluctant sigh, Rosa stepped forward and knocked gently on the rear window of the Bentley.
This time, the window rolled down almost immediately. Ethan’s gaze met theirs, his impatience clear in his
eyes.
“Is there something else?” he asked, his tone exasperated.
“Sir… I truly apologize… We were mistaken about the whole situation…” Rosa offered a heartfelt apology, her voice filled with genuine regret.
Renee quickly averted her gaze, unable to bear the situation any longer.
The whole situation felt utterly mortifying!
And when did Rosa become so meek? This wasn’t the same woman who’d never backed down from anything. Where was that fearless, bold Rosa?
“I want her to come over and apologize.” Ethan gestured toward Renee with a nod.
Rosa hesitated for a moment before looking back, gathering her courage. She then stepped forward, positioning herself to shield Renee from Ethan’s gaze. With a firm voice, she declared, “This isn’t her fault–I’m the one
who was driving!”
Ethan gave Rosa a quick glance, a smirk forming on his lips. “You were the one driving? It seems like anyone, even a retard, can drive these days.”
The word “retard” cut deep, and for a few seconds, Rosa stood frozen, unable to respond, her thoughts racing.
Ethan’s laugh grew louder, dripping with disdain as he pointed at Rosa. “Just look at you! A complete simpleton,
without a doubt!”
In the blink of an eye, his finger was twisted back with a sudden, sharp force.
“Who exactly are you calling a retard?”
