Chapter 252 Stop Acting So
Dramatic
Ivory poured the disinfectant onto Rosa’s wound, scrubbing it aggressively with a long cotton swab.
Rosa flinched in agony, pulling her foot back as tears of pain welled up in her eyes. “It hurts so much…”
But Ivory, unfazed, yanked her foot back, rolling her eyes in exasperation as if Rosa had somehow offended her.
“I’m just cleaning your wound. Stop acting so dramatic.”
Fearful of the harsh treatment, Rosa tried to pull away. But with every attempt, Ivory’s grip tightened.
Suddenly, a strong hand latched onto Ivory’s wrist, twisting it sharply. Ivory yelped in pain, her voice high and
strained. “Ah! Let go! It hurts… it really hurts…”
Renee flicked her wrist with force, sending Ivory stumbling forward, narrowly avoiding a painful fall.
Renee’s voice was cold, cutting through the air. “I was just grabbing your wrist. Stop acting so dramatic.”
“You…” Ivory staggered, trying to regain her balance, but her hand still tingled from the intense pressure Renee had applied. Blood rushed to her fingertips, and the sensation lingered, a reminder of how close she came to losing use of her hand.
Renee’s grip had been so unyielding that if she’d held on just a few seconds longer, Ivory’s hand might’ve been permanently damaged.
Ivory was taken aback. She had expected Renee to be like the typical delicate heiresses–wealthy girls who were used to being pampered and indulged, nothing more than spoiled brats.
Because of this, she couldn’t fathom how anyone could believe that William and Renee were truly a good match!
But she never anticipated Renee would be so strong!
A grudging admiration stirred within Ivory as she locked eyes with Renee, who remained unfazed.
No wonder William was so taken with her.
“You either treat her properly, or I’ll make sure you never work as a nurse again. The choice is yours.” Renee’s tone was frigid, her words sharp and precise, striking right at the core of Ivory’s being.
“I… I am treating her!” Ivory protested, her tone defensive.
Renee shot her a frosty glance, her eyes filled with cold disdain. Then, she turned her attention to Rosa, who was sobbing quietly. The sight of her tears brought a mix of frustration and helplessness to Renee’s chest.
Crying wouldn’t change a thing!
“If it hurts, speak up!” Renee’s voice was firm, her brow furrowed as she addressed Rosa. Yet, the warning in
her words was unmistakably aimed at Ivory. “Don’t just sit there suffering in silence. With me here, no one dares to hurt you. Do you hear me?”
Ivory remained silent, her pride wounded.
Rosa wiped away her tears, managing a faint smile as she nodded. “Okay…”
Renee exhaled deeply. Another day, another mess! The people and situations around her never ceased to be
infuriating.
With Renee’s firm warning, Ivory treated the cuts on Rosa’s feet with much more care, adopting a more professional demeanor. Her earlier sharpness faded, and she showed no more hostility toward Rosa.
Truth be told, she was competent at her job, but when she learned that Rosa was with Renee, her attitude had soured. After being put in her place, she swiftly retreated into submission.
In the end, she was just a bully who picked on the vulnerable.
Once Rosa’s feet were tended to, Renee helped her to leave, while Ivory stayed behind to pack up the medical
supplies.
Just as they reached the door, Renee paused, turning her head slightly to glance at Ivory with a look of utter disdain, as if she were nothing more than trash. “By the way, did those two boys deliver my message?”
Ivory feigned ignorance. “What are you talking about? I don’t understand!”
Renee could see through the act. It was clear that Ivory’s earlier anger had stemmed from the failure of Godfrey
and Jayden.
