Chapter 242 Revenge
“Godfrey, you promised to protect me! Will you intervene when someone bullies me?” Ivory called out, her voice laden with distress.
Godfrey’s demeanor became grave as he listened. “Ivory, please explain what happened,” he implored.
Jayden’s concern was evident as he questioned her, “Ivory, who has been bullying you? Why haven’t you confided in me?”
Ivory glanced at him sharply and countered, “Even if I had told you, could you really defend me? Humph!”
Her scoff struck a nerve, denting Jayden’s pride.
“Of course, I could! You just don’t share anything! Who is bullying you?” Jayden insisted.
In that instant, Godfrey stepped in front of Ivory, sidelining Jayden.
“Stop trying to act tough, Jayden. She’s aware that you lack the courage. She wouldn’t be suffering if you were braver. Ivory, tell us what’s happening. I promise to help you seek vengeance,” Godfrey declared confidently.
“Really? You mean it?” Ivory responded, simulating vulnerability.
“Absolutely!” Godfrey reassured.
“I’ll help too!” Jayden exclaimed.
Ivory appeared uneasy but eventually revealed, “The woman involved has significant influence, so I’ve had no choice but to endure. She’s a recent patient at our hospital. She uses her wealth to dominate, constantly ordering me around and demeaning me— Today, she complained of pain

during an injection, and then
As Ivory recounted her ordeal, tears began to flow freely down her cheeks.
Who could remain unmoved by such a sight?
Both Jayden and Godfrey immediately felt a surge of protectiveness and competition.
“What exactly did she do next?” Godfrey demanded, his anger palpable.
Ivory wept, recounting, “She struck me and threatened to file a complaint to have me terminated. This job is my passion. Since childhood, I’ve dreamt of saving lives as a nurse. I cannot lose this job.”
“That’s abominable!” Godfrey exclaimed, his anger palpable as he slammed his glass down.
“How could she assault you! Ivory, which room is she in? I need to speak with her directly.”
“Don’t stress, Ivory. She won’t be able to get you fired. I’ve got solid connections at your hospital,” Jayden chimed in.
A tearful smile broke through Ivory’s distress as she thanked them. “Thank you both. However, Godfrey, I’d prefer not to escalate things at the hospital. It would negatively impact other patients who are innocent.”
Godfrey responded, “Ivory, your kindness is why people exploit you!”
“What can we do to help you?” Jayden inquired.
Pausing to think, Ivory proposed, “I’ll devise a plan to get her outside the hospital, then you could warn her. But, please, no harm must come to her.”
As she spoke, tears welled up again. “Even though she struck me and used a needle on me, I hold no desire for revenge. I’m accustomed to enduring pain since I was young anyway.”
“You may withstand it, but we cannot stand by,” Godfrey retorted, his
frustration mounting. He looked to Jayden and declared, “Jayden, are you ready? We need to confront this woman and have a serious discussion.”
Jayden, equally incensed, slammed his glass down. “Count me in! She had the audacity to bully the woman I cherish. Ivory, rest assured, we’ll ensure she faces consequences.”
