Chapter 239 Did You See Anything
“Ivory? Ivory!”
Ivory snapped back to the present and saw Lula giving her a confused look.
“What… what’s the matter?” Ivory stuttered, taken aback.
Lula let out a deep breath. “I should be the one asking you. I’ve been trying to get your attention for a while now, and you just weren’t responding. Do you feel okay? Your cheeks are quite flushed.”
“What?” Ivory cupped her face with her hands, feeling the warmth.
As she felt the heat on her face, her thoughts drifted to the whispers and moans she had caught outside William’s room, making her face flush even more. “N–no, I’m fine. It’s probably the air conditioning… It’s too hot!”
“Really? I find it just right. Oh, did you manage to change the bandages for the patient in room 303?”
Room 303 was William’s room.
As Lula asked this question, Ivory’s thoughts drifted again. It amazed her that a man as reserved and cold as William could show such wild passion when aroused, a side only Renee would witness.
How fortunate she was!
And how jealous Ivory felt!
“Ivory? What’s the matter? Are you sure you’re alright?”
“I’m fine… Lula, I think you should go there instead.”
Lula sensed something amiss with Ivory and hesitantly agreed. “Okay. You go get some rest.”
She then grabbed the medical supply tray, but just as she was about to step out, Ivory stopped her. “Wait!”
Lula turned back with a look of confusion on her face. “What is it?”
Ivory paused, struggling to come up with an excuse. She simply didn’t want Lula to see or hear that side of William too. She didn’t want to share that with others. “I… I’m feeling a little dizzy. Could you stay here with me
for a bit?”
Seeing how Ivory’s face grew even redder, extending up to her ears, and her eyes misty and distant, Lula suspected she might actually be sick and chose to stay.
She touched Ivory’s forehead to check her temperature but it wasn’t high. Frowning with concern, she said, “Should we get a doctor for you? You don’t look well.”
“No, a bit of rest should do. I’ll be okay.”
As time passed, the redness in Ivory’s cheeks faded, and Lula felt relieved.
“Lula, thank you. I’m better now.”
“You sure?”
“Yes, truly. No need to worry!”
“Okay, then I’ll leave.”
Lula entered William’s room with a cheerful smile. Renee was resting in her bed, and William was busily typing away on his laptop. As Lula walked in, William even offered her a warm smile.
His friendliness took Lula by surprise!
Before she could say anything, William signaled for her to keep quiet,
pointing towards Renee to suggest not disturbing her.
Lula nodded with a smile, impressed by his charm and considerate nature.
And it made sense; Renee was stunning, and together, they looked like an
ideal match!
After she finished changing William’s dressing, Lula went back to the nurse’s station. Ivory immediately approached her, eager to know. “Have you done the dressing?”
“Yes.”
Ivory hesitated, and then asked, “Did you… see anything?”
Lula answered casually, “Yes.”
Ivory’s eyes went wide with astonishment.
Lula was puzzled. What was so shocking about that?
“You… you saw it?” Ivory asked again.
Even more confused now, Lula nodded and eyed Ivory with suspicion. “Yes,
I saw it. What’s the matter with you?”
Ivory’s expression quickly turned sour.
