Chapter 201 Just Get Him On That Ship
Each room was encased in frosted glass, making it nearly impossible to see what was inside. Renee hesitated before carefully pushing open the door to
the nearest room.
The space wasn’t large–only big enough to hold a massive machine. At first glance, she couldn’t make sense of what it did.
The walls were lined with intricate control panels, their lights flashing in a steady rhythm. The machine seemed to be operating, though its purpose remained a mystery.
Renee and William exchanged a quiet glance, both drawn to the machine in
front of them.
“Is this some sort of… surveillance device?”
Renee’s frown deepened as she stared at the strange equipment, an unease settling over her the moment she stepped inside.
It felt like a massive beast–suffocating, casting a strange, inexplicable fear
over her.
She even had the unsettling sensation that it was watching her right now.
“William…” she murmured, her voice barely a whisper.
It was as though they shared an unspoken bond. He reached for her hand,
gripping it firmly, offering warmth as silent reassurance.
“I’m here,” he said softly.
The moment she heard his words, her fear seemed to melt away.

Their hands remained clasped, fingers intertwined.
Suddenly, he spoke up. “This time, I asked Ryder for help to find you.”
She blinked in surprise, turning to face him.
His face was calm, but there was a quiet sadness in his eyes. She knew her connection with Ryder had always been a thorn to William.
“I…” he started.
“My relationship with Mr. Chadwick is more like that of a mentor and a student,” she cut him off, her voice steady.
He studied her closely, searching her eyes for the answer he hoped to find.
She held his gaze, her expression calm, her eyes unwavering.
She gently squeezed his hand. “Over the past three years, he’s helped me a lot. I’m truly grateful for his kindness.”
Ryder, ten years older than her, had once been Johnny’s subordinate. What she felt for him was deep respect, like for an elder. After Felix was born, Ryder had been the one to offer her the most support. With no father figure in his life, Felix had naturally looked up to Ryder as a father.
“Alright, I understand,” William said, his voice steady.
They continued their exploration, and it soon became clear–this was Shaun’s hidden lab. Those thugs had likely hijacked the cruise because they were after this lab, or whatever it produced.
“We need to move out quickly,” William murmured. “Shaun might make a
move soon.”
He was right. Shaun had realized they’d discovered the underground lab and was preparing to blow it up.
But before that, he knew he had to evacuate everyone from the island to avoid drawing attention.
As for William and Renee… since they were being nosy, he had no problem letting them stay here forever.
“Is everything set on your end?” Shaun asked his assistant, his voice low.
“Yes. Don’t worry,” the assistant replied. “Once we’re on the ship, the island will be lost on map for at least decades. Even if someone stumbles across it, they won’t find those two. They’re underground, and no one will hear them–however loud they scream.”
“Good. Make the arrangements,” Shaun instructed, his tone sharp.
“There’s just one thing,” the assistant said, his face clouded with worry.
“Speak,” Shaun responded, his patience thinning.
“Your nephew… he’s close with Renee. What if he refuses to leave before finding her?”
Shaun’s eyes darkened, his voice taking on an icy edge. “We’ll figure something. Just get him on that ship, even if you have to tie him up.”
“Understood, Mr. Doyle. I’ll take care of it.”
