Chapter 18: Be a Good Girl for Me

A Dangerous Destination

Selene’s breath hitched as she took in their location.

Right in front of a luxurious hotel’s grand entrance.

Her pulse quickened, a wave of dread sinking into her bones.

Her voice, laced with desperation, filled the tense silence of the car.

“Caspian, we’re literally in the middle of a divorce. Can’t we just talk this out instead?”

“No.”

His response was instant, unyielding.

With no hesitation, he stepped out, rounding the car with purposeful strides.

Selene gripped the door handle, her knuckles whitening, her wide eyes silently pleading for him to reconsider.

But he merely sneered, prying her fingers loose with ease.

Then, in one swift move, he lifted her from the seat.

“Caspian! Let go of me! Let me go!” Selene thrashed wildly, her legs flailing.

But Caspian didn’t even falter.

With just one arm, he held her firmly against him, his military-honed strength rendering her struggles useless.

A smug smile curled on his lips as he murmured—

“Save your energy for later; you’ll need it.”

The Hotel Entrance

“You fucking bastard! Put me down!”

Selene’s screams grew louder, more frantic, but Caspian strode through the hotel entrance like he owned the place.

At the front desk, he dropped their IDs on the counter with a sharp clack.

His voice was calm yet commanding.

“A room. Now.”

The receptionist, clearly flustered, hesitated.

Her eyes darted between the strained couple, recognizing their striking features.

Her cheeks turned pink as she stammered, “S-Sir… Uh, yes, one moment.”

Caspian’s impatience mounted. He tapped the counter sharply.

“Make it quick. We’re in a hurry.”

The young woman blushed furiously, flustered by his intensity.

Handing him the key card, she whispered, “Enjoy your stay.”

Caspian flashed her a charming smile, his voice smooth as silk.

“Thank you. I have no doubt that we will.”

Next to him, Selene’s face burned with embarrassment.

She buried her head into his chest, muttering curses under her breath.

The Elevator

The moment they stepped inside, Caspian’s demeanor shifted.

His body pressed against hers, trapping her against the cold elevator wall.

His kiss was fierce, urgent, demanding more than she was willing to give.

Selene squirmed, but his hold only tightened.

The elevator doors slid open with a sharp ding.

A bystander caught a glimpse of their heated embrace and quickly stepped aside, discomfort flickering across his face.

But Caspian was utterly undisturbed, his lips trailing down Selene’s neck with unabated fervor.

Selene gave him a warning shove, her voice hissing with panic.

“Caspian, stop! People can see us!”

He bit her earlobe teasingly, his voice low, playful.

“Scared now, are you?”

Selene clenched her jaw.

This man is insane. He doesn’t care about anything.

With a forceful shove, she broke free.

Her voice trembled, but she stood her ground.

“Fine. I’m scared. Can we please leave this place?”

Only then did Caspian finally release her.

As they stepped out, she caught the curious glances of two guests who had just witnessed their spectacle.

Her face burned, and she bit her lip in silent frustration.

The Room

Once inside the secluded suite, the air grew heavier.

Caspian’s demeanor darkened, more dominant than ever.

Selene’s heart pounded, a wave of anxiety washing over her.

She wondered if she’d even be able to walk out of here on her own when he was done with her.

She thought back to their first time together.

Eighteen years old.

A modest motel, close to his military base.

It had been awkward, clumsy.

He had left her bedridden for days.

Back then, she had foolishly believed that giving herself to him would make him love her back.

But it never did.

Caspian had always been the Kai Lysandere—cold, unreadable, unreachable.

What an insufferable asshole.

Her thoughts snapped back to the present when Caspian’s hand gripped her chin, forcing her gaze to his.

His eyes burned into hers, filled with something dark, something dangerous.

“Eyes on me.”

He tilted her chin up, his grip firm yet careful.

“Who’s got your thoughts right now?”

Pain sparked tears in Selene’s defiant eyes, but Caspian only seemed more intrigued by them.

His jaw clenched, his voice dropping to a rough whisper.

“Damn it, Selene.”

“You drive me insane.”

His fingers traced her cheek, then trailed down to her lips.

Then, with unexpected gentleness, he pressed a lingering kiss to her forehead.

His voice was low, rough, filled with an unfamiliar longing.

“Selene, be a good girl for me.”

His next words sent a chill down her spine.

“Stay away from other men, and I promise…”

His lips hovered over hers, his breath hot against her skin.

“You’ll have everything you ever wanted.”
