Chapter 178 I’m His Boyfriend
Out of nowhere, a loud bang erupted.
The door flew open forcefully.
Expecting to see the doctor, Renee looked up but was met with the sight of a man at the door. He stared in shock at Ryland and his cheeks reddened with fury.
Renee’s brow creased in confusion.
The man charged in.
Reacting swiftly, she lifted her hand to halt him.
“Get out of the way!” he bellowed furiously.
Renee held her position, eyeing him with increased caution.
From the moment he barged in, he had his eyes fixed on Ryland. With Renee now blocking his path, he glanced at her briefly, his expression cold and threatening.
“If you don’t step aside, I won’t hesitate to get physical,” he warned.
At that, Marvin moved closer, staring down the man as a warning.
Renee smirked. “By all means, give it a shot.”
With that, she signaled for Marvin to back off. Marvin paused, thought about how fierce she was, and concluded that perhaps she didn’t need his help. So he stepped back.
The man fixed Renee with an intense stare but didn’t act. His voice

softened as he attempted to talk this out. “Look, Ryland is with me. I’m here to take him. Please, step aside.”
Renee furrowed her brows as she eyed the man, wondering if Ryland had ever spoken of someone like him.
The man was unfamiliar. This made her realize she might not have paid enough attention to Ryland’s life.
“Who are you?” she asked.
“Claude Perez.”
“Perez? How are you related to the Perez family?”
Irritated by Renee’s question, Claude merely responded, “That’s my
business.”
At this, Marvin gasped, pointed at Claude, and exclaimed, “You’re the unacknowledged son of the Perez family, aren’t you?”
Feeling Claude’s stern gaze, Marvin realized he might have misspoken.
His comment wasn’t false; it was merely impolite to say it before Claude so
directly.
But so what? Marvin wasn’t someone who usually held back, especially in Tofral, where he didn’t need to respect anyone.
“Are you that notorious failure of the Doyle family, Marvin?” Claude
retorted.
“What did you say?!” Marvin snapped, pointing at Claude, ready for a fight.
However, Claude dismissed him and instead turned towards Renee with a soft tone. “Ms. Carter, please, let me take Ryland. I’m his boyfriend.”
Renee was startled by this revelation and glanced at Ryland. She remembered him once sharing his affection for someone who he hesitated to confess to, because his crush didn’t seem interested in a serious
relationship. The man had mentioned having to return to his wealthy family to claim his inheritance, which was a challenging feat as he was the unrecognized son.
Perhaps Ryland’s crush was Claude?
Renee moved aside slightly.
Claude stepped forward and gently lifted Ryland, handling him as though he were made of glass.
Renee noticed Claude’s eyes brimming with tears as he held Ryland.
“I’ll find out who’s responsible for this. They’ll regret it, I swear,” Claude vowed firmly.
He then walked off, carrying Ryland in his arms.
“He…” Marvin gestured towards their retreating figures, his expression a mix of shock and curiosity. He then turned to Renee. “Is that your friend? Are they… Is he really your friend’s boyfriend?”
Renee stood taller, her formidable aura quieting Marvin.
“I’m going to review the security footage now. This room isn’t where all this happened! Marvin, you’re coming with me.”
Although Renee had her ways to gain entry if needed, having Marvin along could make things easier.
Marvin was more than willing to follow Renee around. He found her fascinating, a woman unlike any he had met before. She truly stood out.
