Chapter 127 Leave Now
“You vile woman! How dare you ask? If Rosa doesn’t awaken tonight, your life will be my vengeance,” Sally declared, her tears flowing as she collapsed into Nixon’s arms.
“My sweet Rosa–such a wonderful girl, so grievously wronged by this vile woman. What will become of her now? Nixon, you must seek justice for Rosa! She’s our child!”
Renee couldn’t suppress a laugh. She was itching to remind them that she was actually Nixon’s flesh and blood. What about Rosa? Sally herself likely had no clue about Rosa’s true paternity. One thing was sure, though–Nixon wasn’t the father.
And only God knew who the father of Sally’s unborn child was.
Renee felt a pang of sympathy for Nixon, oblivious to the fact that his wife. was cheating on him.
“Renee, how could you? Where have you hidden the man who hurt Rosa? Surrender him to me. Then, it’s your turn. Rosa is part of this family, understood? She’s your sister.” Nixon seethed.
“You’re mistaken. I don’t have a sister. Just because Rosa carries the Carter name doesn’t tie her to me as family. In case you forget, she’s the daughter Sally bore with another man. Perhaps Sally should tell us who the father is. See if she even knows.”
“What are you insinuating?” Sally nearly crumbled, and Nixon struggled to
calm her.
As Sally lunged towards her, Renee protectively clutched Felix, instinctively raising her foot.
Realizing the danger, she withdrew at the last moment and grasped Sally’s hand instead.
“Sally!” Nixon hurried over, alarmed, watching as Renee restrained Sally with ease.
Renee showed no such restraint towards Nixon. With a quick movement, she tripped him, and he hit the floor with a cry of pain.
“Honey!” Sally screamed.
With a look of disdain, Renee released Sally, who quickly assisted Nixon to his feet.
“Renee!” Nixon’s voice was thick with fury and humiliation.
Renee spoke in an even tone. “Should I escort you out, or would you rather leave by your own accord?”
“Renee!”
Nixon, not ready to concede, believed he had only fallen because he was caught unprepared. He scanned the room, grabbed an ashtray, and threw it at Renee, disregarding the fact that she was holding her two–year–old.
A fierce glare took over Renee’s eyes.
She didn’t attempt to move away. Instead, she lifted her hand, formed a fist, and struck the flying ashtray.
Nixon and Sally stood agape. They had never seen Renee display such strength.
They were unaware of Johnny ever teaching her such abilities.
What was even more astonishing was that Renee’s blow broke the ashtray into pieces.
Sally remembered the kick from earlier. Could she have endured it if Renee had actually kicked her? A lingering fear took hold of her.
“Leave now!” Renee’s command echoed powerfully.
Sally hurriedly pulled the dazed Nixon away. They departed from Rose Villa, the door thudding shut behind them. As they paused to look back at the closed doors, their legs trembled.
“Is she still the same Renee we knew?” Sally’s voice shook with uncertainty.
Nixon hadn’t come to his senses yet.
“Nixon!” She prodded him.
Regaining his awareness, Nixon looked at her in astonishment. “Perhaps Dad taught her something in secret—”
