Chapter 103 His One True
Love
Infinity Group’s annual gala was the talk of the town in Tofral. This company had experienced meteoric growth, vaulting into the top echelon of Tofral’s corporate hierarchy in a mere two years. Its ventures, sprawling across sectors like real estate, security, and even the cultural industries, had transformed the local economic landscape.
Among its subsidiaries, Infinity Security, helmed by William–a decorated former special forces officer–stood out. Its reputation was sterling, built on a foundation of hiring solely ex–special forces personnel, setting recruitment standards that were as high as the salaries it offered–often double or even triple the industry norm. This generous compensation package drew skilled professionals and seasoned veterans from all corners of the country.
This year’s celebration marked the third anniversary of Infinity Group’s founding, turning the gala into an exclusive affair with tight entry restrictions–rumor had it only a hundred coveted invitations were distributed. The anticipation and exclusivity of the event meant that only the wealthy and influential could hope to attend.
Hours before the event, the luxury hotel chosen as the venue was already buzzing with activity, surrounded by social media influencers eager to share the spectacle with the world.
One influencer, in particular, had managed to captivate an audience of thirty thousand live viewers, with comments streaming in real–time.
“People in Tofral are so lucky. If I were there, I wouldn’t waste a second at work—I’d be
right at the venue, soaking in all the glamour.”
“Nothing else matters to me. I just want the chance to see a magnetic CEO up close.”
“I heard a bunch of famous celebrities will also be there. I’m beyond jealous! Any
chance my favorite idol will be there?”
“Wanna know something? It’s not just any A–lister who gets a pass. From what I’ve gathered, invitations are rare–less than five celebs made the cut. Anyone beyond that
number has definitely pulled some strings to get in.”
“And for those dreaming of meeting a suave CEO, temper those expectations. Truth be told, most CEOS in real life are middle–aged with a bit more around the middle than you’d hope.”
“That’s not entirely true. Have you seen the CEO of Infinity Group? The man could be a model, seriously.”
“Really? But you do realize that the CEO of Infinity Group is none other than Mr. William Mitchell, right? You think someone like him is just going to casually stroll in? Are you not aware of his background? He’s accompanied by real special force soldiers as bodyguards. Try getting too close, and you’d be subdued faster than you can blink.”
“Oh, that reminds me! Do you guys remember the buzz a few days ago about the family of three at the supermarket? I’m pretty sure he was the dad.”
“Finally, someone else shares my suspicion. I always thought that man in the pics bore a striking resemblance to Mr. Mitchell. But then, I heard Mrs. Mitchell had fled. Was she finally captured and brought back? That boy’s presence screams the beginning of a drama–a charismatic CEO’s wife disappearing into the sunset with their child. Who knew romance novels weren’t over the top? They’re actually drawn straight from real life.”
Ryland, unable to contain his amusement, snapped a screenshot of the comments and handed his phone to Renee, his laughter echoing in the room. “Girl, check this out! The netizens think you ran off with your child and William had to drag you back. Isn’t that hilarious? Their wild imaginations are absolutely priceless.”
Renee flipped through the comments nonchalantly, and then paused, a curious tone coloring her voice. “Is William really becoming that famous now?”
“Yes, he’s the whole package–handsome, wealthy, and hopelessly romantic… It seems he’s become the darling of every young girl’s heart. He’s even got a fan club. If he decided to step into the spotlight, he’d undoubtedly be a sensation.”
Renee’s brow furrowed slightly. “Hopelessly romantic?”
How did things end up like that, considering his complicated relationship with both Renee and Sylvia?
Ryland scratched his nose thoughtfully. “Well, right after you disappeared, he
practically tore Tofral apart looking for you. Despite his supposed commitment to Sylvia, they never tied the knot, even after three years. That got people talking They started weaving tales of a family feud tearing two star–crossed lovers apart, with you as his one true love all along…”
