Chapter 101 Treat Your Wife Right
“Mommy! Mommy! Look at this one!” Felix waved a small dinosaur toy in front of Renee, his eyes full of excitement.
Renee shook her head, not amused. “It’s too ugly.”
“I think it looks great! Right, Mr. Mitchell?” Felix pressed, glancing at William for support.
“Yes, it looks great. Let’s get this one,” William agreed, smiling at Felix.
Renee’s expression hardened. “No way.”
Felix pouted, reluctantly putting the dinosaur back, but William, feeling sorry for the boy, reached for it again. “I’ll buy it for you, Felix.”
“William!” Renee snapped, her gaze sharp. “You’re spoiling him. You might win him over with a toy today, but it’ll make it harder for me to teach him later. Stop meddling, Okay?”
William, caught off guard, stood silently, taking the reprimand like a child. Once she finished, he quietly placed the toy back on the shelf.
Nearby, a woman who had been observing their exchange chuckled softly. “Hey, your wife is right. You can’t spoil kids too much.”
Renee sighed, her patience thinning.
Explaining to a stranger that she wasn’t William’s wife would only fuel more speculation about their relationship, and she wasn’t in the mood to deal with that.
On the other hand, William seemed pleased, flashing a smile as he responded, “You’re absolutely right. Thank you, Ma’am.”
“No worries. Treat your wife right, and life will treat you right,” the lady suggested.
Renee couldn’t hold back anymore and interjected, “Ma’am, we’re not—”
Before she could finish, William quickly cut in, “Thank you, Ma’am. I will.”
Then, he gently pulled Renee aside, sensing her growing irritation. Leaning in, he whispered, “If you try to explain this now, she might suspect our relationship. Do you want her to think that way? What would that look on Felix? A poor fatherless boy?”
His words struck a nerve, and Renee’s resolve faltered, but she shot back stubbornly, “He’s never had a father figure anyway.”
William’s hesitant look made her uneasy, the fear creeping in that he might once again think Felix was his son. She swiftly changed the topic, her voice hardening. “Let’s go. What else do we need to buy? Let’s just get it done.”
The three of them moved on to the fresh produce section. William, standing tall and strikingly handsome, instantly became the center of attention. People couldn’t help but admire the picturesque family of three.
A few people discreetly pulled out their phones, capturing the moment.
By the time they were leaving the supermarket, their photos were already making the rounds online, spreading faster than they could have imagined. Before long, the post had garnered over a hundred thousand views.
The viral sensation was moving at a pace faster than even some of the most popular celebrities could manage. In a world where many young people feared commitment and preferred staying single, the sight of such a beautiful, seemingly perfect family had struck a chord with many. They couldn’t help but feel envious.
The most liked comment read, “If my partner looked like that, I’d never choose to stay
single.”
Someone responded to that comment, saying, “Yeah, well, you’d have to look good too for that to happen.”
Another commenter followed, “I wouldn’t even dare dream of having a boyfriend this handsome. I’d be too afraid I’d make him cry with my looks.”
One more remarked, “Exactly! I’ve always dreamed of a girlfriend who looks like that. And when we’d kiss, she’d wake me up with a spit in my face.”
Yet another comment read, “While everyone’s busy envying the couple, I’m more jealous of that cute kid. He has the most good–looking parents. I want to be born into a family like that in my next life.”
Amidst the growing comments, one was quickly gaining traction. “Doesn’t the couple look familiar? Does he remind anyone else of the Mitchell heir?”
