Chapter 21 Seducing Rhys
Before going to the club, Joanna made a stop at the hospital to pay Martha’s medical bills from the previous week.
Martha had developed a lung infection after surgery and had been stuck in the ICU ever since.
Once she left the hospital, Joanna hopped into
a taxi and headed to the club.
At the entrance, she mentioned Rhys‘ name. The receptionist nodded and showed her to a private room.
Inside, the air was thick with smoke, and the music from the DJ shook the walls. A group of five young men were on their
feet, each with a beautiful woman by his side, dancing close together.
Joanna couldn’t shake the feeling that she had walked into an out–of–control party.
As soon as Rhys spotted her, his face lit up.
“Hey, everyone, hold up!” he called out, shoving the girl with pink hair away. He made his way over to Joanna, put an arm around her, and grinned. “Let me introduce you all. This is my girlfriend, Joanna Powell.”
Someone let out a whistle. “She’s stunning!”
The others quickly agreed, and Rhys, in a great mood, guided Joanna to the seat in the middle.
He pointed to the board games on the table. “Want to play something?” he asked.
Joanna shook her head.
“How about dancing then?” Rhys suggested.
Joanna looked at the couples on the dance floor, practically attached at the hips, and shook her head again.
She stayed quiet, almost as if she couldn’t speak.
Even Joanna’s beauty seemed to fade into the background for Rhys at that moment.
Then, a soft voice cut through the noise. “Mr. Harvey… Would you dance with me instead?”
The girl with pink hair sat down next to Rhys, completely ignoring everyone else.
She wore a pink wig, a low–cut top, and fishnet stockings, her chest almost spilling out as she leaned against Rhys.
It was an intensely provocative scene.
Joanna turned away in disgust, but then something clicked- the girl seemed familiar.
She stared at the girl’s face, trying to figure out where she had seen her before.
Even with all the heavy makeup, Joanna quickly recognized the girl- it was Kristy!
Joanna’s face went stiff.
Whether it was Kristy’s outrageous outfit or her bold attempts to flirt with Rhys, Joanna was completely taken aback.

Kristy, not realizing she had been recognized, assumed Joanna was upset about her closeness to Rhys. She turned up the
heat, casually placing her hand on his thigh.
“Come on, Mr. Harvey,” she cooed.
Rhys struggled to resist, already feeling the temptation stirring inside him.
He regretted inviting Joanna. If she hadn’t come, he could have easily pulled Kristy into the bathroom for a quickie.
He gritted his teeth, forcing himself to push his desires down. He shoved Kristy away roughly and faked a look of disgust. “Can’t you see my girlfriend is right here? Get lost!”
“Ah!” Kristy tumbled to the floor, her limbs flailing.
A girl nearby chuckled. “What a fool! Mr. Harvey’s real girlfriend is here, and she’s still throwing herself at him.”
The other girls joined in the laughter, and Kristy’s face turned pale with rage. She covered her face and ran off, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Rhys reluctantly watched her leave, then turned to Joanna, his face full of affection. “Joanna, in my heart, she’s not even
worth a fraction of you!”
Joanna felt a wave of disgust as she saw his lovey–dovey expression.
Her eyes couldn’t help but notice the bulge in his crotch.
Suppressing her disgust, Joanna stood up. “I need to use the restroom.”
“I’ll go too,” Rhys replied, clearly struggling to control his urges. He planned to take care of it on his own in the restroom.
The men’s and women’s restrooms were on opposite sides of the hall.
Once they stepped out of the private room, they went in different directions.
Joanna silently thanked the designer of the place. With Rhys in his current state, who knew what kind of trouble he might
cause if they stayed together?
She quickly found the women’s restroom and was about to open the door when she heard angry muttering from inside.
“What’s so special about Joanna? She dresses so boring and can’t even wear makeup. How is she any better than me? He said he liked dancing with me… But ever since that bitch showed up, everything’s changed. Bitch! Bitch! You’ll get what’s
coming to you!”
Kristy screamed in frustration, knocking all the makeup off the counter.
Suddenly, the restroom door swung open.
Kristy spun around, her face filled with shock.
It was Joanna!
Joanna gave her a confused look. “I thought I heard someone cursing me. Did you hear it?”
Kristy, flustered, quickly changed her tone. “No, I didn’t hear anything. You must’ve misheard!”
Joanna nodded. “I thought so too. After all, we just met today. You wouldn’t have any reason to curse me, right?”
“Right! Exactly,” Kristy quickly agreed. She watched Joanna head into a stall and let out a sigh of relief.

Kristy bent down to pick up the makeup from the floor, ready to leave, but then an idea struck her. Joanna hadn’t
recognized her. If she acted now, Joanna wouldn’t be able to figure out who did it!
Kristy’s eyes flicked to the nearby bucket of mop water…
