Elara said happily, “Ms. Martinez, you’re so kind. At first, I was worried you wouldn’t want to take him in.”
I smiled without saying anything and gently petted Oliver’s head. He wasn’t afraid of strangers at all. After getting to know me for just over an hour, he was already rubbing against my hand affectionately.
