Chapter 16
RUBY DOUGLAS
“I’ll get an ice pack.”
My tone walked the lines between bitterness and apprehension.
Taking extra care not to bump Gavin’s broad chest, I slipped through the doorway and down the stairs towards the vast kitchen. Able to finally breathe being away from his smoldering gaze.
“You left the mansion,” He strolled into the kitchen, stopping by the island to watch me work on an ice pack.
“I missed my friend.”
I took the ice pack closer to his bulged arm, he sneered when my fingers nearly touched him. Then I observed that his injured fingers looked perfectly fine.
How did he heal so quickly?
“Not everyone’s a runt,” he muttered, “Especially one who parades herself around town like some…” He caught his tongue.
“You can say it, there’s nothing I haven’t been called in my life.” I shrugged, “After all, runts don’t have feelings.”
His eyes scanned my crimped lips and then he sucked in a quick breath. “Pour me a glass of water.”
He commanded only because I was about to exit the kitchen. I needed to lock myself in the secrecy of my room and sob my eyes out. Tequila that night wasn’t the best option for me because it toiled with my emotions.
I snappily poured him some water from the glass jug and placed it before him, turning to leave again.
“Cut some lemons into it.”
His chilled tone met me by the door. Huffing silently, I obliged. Luckily, I found already halved lemons in the refrigerator, neatly placed them on a plate, and set them before him
About to leave again.
“Could you make me a snack?”
Classic joke!
“It’s past midnight.” I really was pissed this time and my gritted teeth didn’t hesitate to show.
“Still too early to call it a night. I could’ve sworn you were having a lot of fun back there with Norman.”
“Norman’s nice to me.”
He chuckled, “There goes that innocence again. Nice enough to kiss you?”
“We didn’t kiss and that’s personal. My love life is very personal.”
“Love life?” The features on his face darkened suddenly, “You belong to someone. You’re someone’s mate.”
“No, I’m not. I countered, scanning the refrigerator for what to take out for a sandwich, “I belong to nobody. Nathan rejected me. I’m free to act as I like.”
Gavin sprang to his feet and reared the high stool he sat in, with sheer fluidity he trapped me to the refrigerator with his

body. His tensed shoulders and broad chest seemed like they were carved from rocks, evidence of his unbridled and unyielding strength. Every muscle sculpted to perfection, a sensual invitation to touch him. To feel his skin against mine.
I gulped. Pinned my gaze to the void above his shoulder, not daring, to meet his eyes. My heart trashed erratically, not even the cool air from the opened refrigerator could douse my heat.
“You’re not going to fucking hoe around,” his fingers clamped my cheeks sending, sweet chills down me, “You’re mine!”
His heavy breaths ghosted on my face, the lust clipped to his words made it impossible to move. But he just kissed Denise. “You kissed…” I swallowed hard, summoned the confidence to add, “Denise” Even though my tone faltered.
“So now, you want to fuck Norman?” He sounded so accusing.
The insult stung. I shoved him away with every bit of strength in me but this beastly ruler didn’t budge.
“Leave me alone!” I yelled in his face. Then trailed off to a sob, a dramatic one, “I want to be happy. I’m just an Omega. You don’t want me. Nobody does”
He seemed taken aback by my little outburst, his quickened pulse hammering in my ears. The need to get on my tippy toes and to wrap my arms around his neck pulling him in for a kiss grew hard to tame.
So I did.
Rising to my tippy toes, I pressed my body hard against his rigid frame and my lips more firmly on his. My arms winding around his neck.
His lips parted for the kiss to deepen, and his fingers threaded my back down to settle on my butt, holding me firm against himself.
A deep rumble sounded heavy in the air, I was unsure of the source either him or from me. Or from us. The source didn’t matter to me. All that did was for Gavin to keep kissing me.
His hands cupped my boobs, feeling the hardened tips with his thumbs, his lips leaving mine to drop fiery kisses along my neck.
How could anything this sinful feel this good?
A primitive throbbing started between my thighs, growing in intensity with each bold thrust of his tongue inside my mouth. I became pliant in his strong hold.
My fingers wandered his silky red hair, every inch of me aching to covet his strength, my pelvis rubbing hard against the bulge in his sweatpants.
He moved his hand lower to lift my skirt so his fingers could spread my legs, sliding over the thin fabric covering my feminine mound. I sucked in a quick breath, my eyes rolling up and shut at the assault rendered above my dampened panties.
“Keep your eyes open, little wolf.”
My eyes snagged his the second they snapped open, fixed on the smirks on his face. And that moment, his finger slipped into my panties touching my damp folds.
I clutched onto his arm, the need to close my eyes again, to savor the moment became overwhelming.
“I’ll stop if you close your eyes again.”
Hell No! My eyes fluttered open, begging him not to stop.

He didn’t.
He searched out my most sensitive spot, nudging the swollen bud with his thumb then he began to pump into me.
7,65%?
He suddenly halted his intimate touch, his forehead furrowed as he slipped his finger out of me, and took staggering steps away from me.
Did I do anything wrong?
“Gavin, is everything alright?”
I tried to wrap my arms around him again.
“Don’t,” He restrained in a ragged voice.

I snapped back to reality. Instantly going still, ashamed of my behavior. Mortified he’d stopped whatever this was I’d started.
Did I do something wrong? I asked myself all over again.
I hoped not.
