Chapter Sixty–Two
Tovi’s POV
One Week Later
Two more months before the pup is here. I am getting huge to the point that I can only wear maternity dresses and slip–on shoes. I am getting miserable and tired more often. My training had gotten to where all the witches were just teaching me potions and spells that don’t use a lot of energy. The baby has been moving a lot more, growing like crazy.
Since we already knew the s*x of the baby when we found out, we kept it a surprise for everyone else. We had a gender reveal party, to officially announce what the baby was going to be. My mother and Deidre went crazy, knowing that they were getting a granddaughter. They went out and bought the cutest dresses and outfits that they could get their hands on.
We could finally finish the nursery, decorating it in a forest theme, with pink wolves on the
walls and bedding. We finally agreed on a name and the baby would be Piper Francesca.
Francesca was named after Franco since Greg promised to name our firstborn after him. Franco is tickled pick, literally.
We continued to prepare for the attack, even though Wayne had been telling Teresa and Shelia
that we had relaxed on the preparations, sending warriors home from other packs, and that we
had cut down on training, even though the pack wanted to continue with the training. The
patrols have been spotting rogues spying on us, and when they do, they give them the option
to either join us or die. The majority of them have joined us, especially the ones that have families and love the set–up we have for our families. The wall was finished a couple of weeks
ago, with the cameras and sensors installed. Greg had all the gates reinforced with plates and steel poles that came out of the ground.
Fall is arriving, with the leaves turning into their vibrant reds and oranges. The nights have
been getting cooler, but with us being werewolves, it doesn’t affect us too much. I have
maternity sweater dresses that I love to wear but am still stuck wearing slip–ons because my
belly is too big for me to bend over to tie or pull my shoes. We have been spending time going
over our supplies and ordering extra canned food and water to place in all the bunkers we
have around the pack. We have three dozen bunkers around the pack, plus the two bunkers
and our suite in the packhouse.
It was evening and it was raining outside. Winter has been wanting to go on a run so badly,
but my doctor told me no more shifting until I have the baby.

“I won’t let anything happen to our pup. I will protect her while you shift,” Winter whined in my
head.
“I know, but you heard the doctor, no shifting.”
“Then go
talk to Sienna. She will tell you what I am telling you. I want to stretch my legs and I haven’t had the chance since you found out that you were pregnant.” She placed her head on
her paws, giving me the sad puppy–eyed look in my mind.
“No, Winter. Not until the baby is here.”
“Fine!” she huffed and closed off our link.
“I’m so sorry, Winter.” I didn’t get a response from her. Maybe I will go talk to Sienna and see
what she says.
I waddled down the spiral staircase from the crow’s nest to the elevators. I scanned my thumbprint to open the doors and I went downstairs of the packhouse, waddling across the driveway to where the witches had been staying. I knocked on the door, and it opened by itself.
“Come in, Tovi!” Marguerite called from the kitchen. I walked in, and I found the four of them
sitting at the island, with coffee in their hands.
“Hi, Tovi, what brings you here today?” Samantha asked.
“You want to know if you can shift into Winter, don’t you?” Sienna told me, handing me a cup
of hot chocolate.
“Yes, I do. She wants to get out and stretch her legs. She is going stir–crazy in my mind and I need to figure something out before she drives me insane before I have Piper.” Sienna smiled, nodding her head.
“Well, there is an ability out there that you can allow your wolf to leave your body, and you don’t have to shift. It would be safer for you and Piper. Let me go look it up and see if we can unlock that ability.” Sienna walked over to the library and pulled out a book. She turned a few pages before she stopped and started to read the page. “It seems pretty simple. It doesn’t require a lot of energy, but it says here that the first few times that she reenters your body, it could make you sick. Do you want to try?” I nodded my head, placed my mug down on the island, and walked into the middle of the room. “It says here to just imagine her like she is in your mind, and she should appear.” So, I closed my eyes, imagining exactly what Winter looks like, and then I heard gasps from the witches. I opened my eyes and Winter was standing–in- front of me! She was beautiful, with her silver–white fur and my green eyes. She was happy and excited, running around in circles, then going up to Sienna and licking her face. I started

to laugh.
“Ok, Winter, you need to calm down. We figured out a way for you to stretch your legs without hurting the baby. Are you happy now?” I scolded her.
“Hell yes, I am happy! I can run around and protect you at the same time! We are going to be
one hell of a fighting team when that asshole Paul comes back. And this time, I will finish his
pathetic ass!” Winter said, shocking the hell out of me that she could talk outside my body.
“Winter! You can talk?” I exclaimed, hugging her.
“DUH! I talk to you in your mind, so I can talk to you in real life. Do you think that the only way
we communicate is through our mind links? f**k no! I can talk to you like I am now. And we
can still link with each other when we don’t want other wolves or people to hear us,” she
explained to me. This is so cool. Wait until Greg sees this!
“Can anyone do this or just someone with special powers?” I asked Sienna.
“Only someone with special powers can do this. But this is good because you both can fight
side by side and can kill more enemies this way.” This is so cool. “After you have the baby, we
will train both you and Winter to fight together.”
We sat around for the rest of the afternoon, talking more about my training after my daughter
was born and what to expect after the attack by the rogues. Winter was happy and content,
lying on the floor at my feet, enjoying scratches behind her ears and hugs from me. It was
starting to get dark outside before I realized how long I had been here. I linked Greg, telling
him that I was going to walk up to the packhouse for dinner. He told me to wait and he would
come and get me. He is still uneasy about me getting hurt or abducted by Paul or Shelia. So, I
sat and waited for him for about ten minutes before he showed up at the house. I was going
to walk across the driveway, not the entire pack. When he walked into the house, he almost
had a heart attack.
“Tovi! You shouldn’t be shifting! The doctor says that it is not safe for the baby!” He yelled
when he saw Winter standing in the foyer, waiting for him.
“Babe, I didn’t shift. I can release Winter whenever I want, so she can stretch her legs and run
around. Sienna found an ability that I have unlocked.” He stood there, with his jaw hanging to the ground.
“It is true, mate. So, I can protect her when I am out of her body when you or your team can’t. And I like this because Tovi can give me a lot of love and attention, just not everyone else,” Winter told Greg and I thought he was going to faint when Winter was talking to him. I giggled
at his reaction. “But since you are here to protect her and take her home, I am going back in. I

will see you soon.” She gave Greg a lick on the face, turned, and walked right into me. All of a
sudden, I felt nauseous and ran to the bathroom, puking up the fruit salad and hot chocolate I
had.
“Are you ok? Did it take too much out of you? You should go up to our suite and get some rest,
Greg was freaking out.
”
“I am fine. It is just a side effect for the first few times until my body gets used to her going
back into my body.” I replied, rinsing my mouth out with some water.
“I liked being out like that, able to protect you and our pup and our interaction. I want to do
this every day.”
“We will see, Winter. As long as you behave in my head and not be a pain in my ass.” She
giggled and went to the back of my mind, most likely to get some sleep.
“Winter said that she wants to come out every day to protect me and Piper. Will it hurt her or
me if I let her?” I asked Sienna.
“1
“No, it won’t hurt either one of you. Just be careful. Someone might try and hurt her if they find
out that she is your actual wolf,” she replied. She handed Greg a big bowl from the kitchen. We made some potato soup for dinner. Go home and enjoy it and share it with Nana, too.”
Everyone here calls my Nana by her nickname. She doesn’t mind. All the pups love her, and
she loves that she has a lot of “adopted” grandchildren here. She is talking about moving here permanently, so she can help me with Piper. I am excited if she does move here. We have had a close relationship with each other and I would love it if she stayed permanently, so that she could watch her great–grandchildren grow up.
Greg and I went up to our suite to eat our dinner. Nana was sitting in the living room when we
walked in.
“Nana, Sienna sent some soup for us for dinner. Homemade potato soup.” I told her as Greg
set the bowl down. I grabbed us some bowls and spoons and a ladle for the soup.
“That does sound good for dinner, especially with the chilly weather,” Nana said, getting up
from the chair to sit at the island. I made her a bowl and set it in front of her, along with some
crackers. “Thank you, my dear.” She patted my cheek. “Is that where you went? To see Sienna?
”
“Yes, Nana. Winter wanted to get out and stretch her legs and I can’t shift right now. So,
Sienna found an ability that I unlocked, that I could have Winter on the outside of my body.” Nana c****d her eyebrow at me, wondering what I was talking about. I closed my eyes and Winter was standing next to me when I opened my eyes.
