Chapter 54
At home, Joshua noticed that Bitcoin had begun to drop again and activated his next buying plan.
He already owned over 30,000 dollars, and he would be able to buy even more in the next round.
The fluctuations in Bitcoin’s value were swift–sometimes plummeting sharply, at other times soaring unexpectedly. As long as he maintained composure, it didn’t bother him.
After completing his tasks, Joshua donned his backpack and walked leisurely toward class. But upon reaching the school entrance, he suddenly noticed two familiar cars parked outside.
Joshua furrowed his brow as he saw Wendy, Maggie, and David getting out of the cars.
Two bodyguards trailed behind them.
“Joshua!” Wendy called out to him.
Joshua ignored her, not sparing a glance, and walked straight toward the school gate.
“Joshua, stop!” Maggie shouted, her temper flaring. “You’ve become increasingly insolent! You won’t even greet us anymore?”
However, Joshua acted as though he hadn’t heard her, continuing his forward march.
“Liam, stop him!” Maggie commanded, her voice sharp with anger.
“Yes!” A bodyguard swiftly moved to block Joshua’s path.
Unable to leave, Joshua turned around, his eyes narrowing at Maggie and the others, his expression one of disgust.
He immediately addressed Wendy, “Wendy Fraser, did you bring them here?”
Wendy froze, her eyes quickly filling with tears.
“Joshua, how dare you call Wendy by her full name? Where have you been these past few days?” Maggie demanded, furiously approaching him.
Seeing her move to slap him, Joshua wasted no time. He dropped his backpack, reached inside, and pulled out a knife.
“Joshua, what are you doing?” David and Wendy gasped in shock, rushing toward him.
“I don’t know what you all are here for, but from the looks of it, you intend to slap me, right?” Joshua said, gripping the knife tightly and glaring at the three of them. “Let me make one thing clear–I have nothing to lose. If I die, I die. But you’ll regret it. At worst, I’ll trade one life for all three of yours.”
“You! How dare you?” Maggie stammered, furious.
“I’m not afraid of anything! If you dare touch me, I’ll strike back,” Joshua shot back coldly.
Maggie froze as she saw the knife in Joshua’s hand, disbelief washing over her.
She had indeed planned to slap him to discipline him, with the bodyguards already holding him back.
But no one could have anticipated that Joshua would draw a knife and aim it straight at Maggie.
Maggie’s rage surged. “Joshua, is this how you treat me? Is this how you treat your mom?”
“My mom? Do you deserve that title?” Joshua spat angrily. “What kind of person are you? Do you deserve to

be my mom?” He scoffed. “I don’t want to argue with you. Just leave, now!”
Maggie was livid. “You ungrateful child! How dare you speak to me like that? You’re infuriating! You have no manners!”
“I have no manners? I’m an orphan! I’ve been an orphan my whole life! My entire family–over a dozen people -died eighteen years ago! What are you to me? How dare you pretend to be my mom?” Joshua shouted. “You better leave now, because I have no relationship with any of you!”
“Joshua, how dare you speak like that? I’m your dad!” David roared, equally furious.
Joshua turned to look at David, then broke into a mocking laugh. He pulled out several sheets of paper from his backpack and handed them over. “Mr. David, I advise you to be kind. Let’s not discuss the past. But these papers have your signature. Are you going to deny it?”
David stared at the papers in shock.
“I don’t care what you’re doing here at 27th Street High. But don’t you dare come here to disturb me. I have no relationship with you or any of your family!” Joshua said coldly.
Maggie’s rage was boiling over. “You ungrateful brat, you’re trying to provoke me to death, aren’t you?”
She gritted her teeth, her face contorted with fury.
“Provoke you to death? If I could make you die, wouldn’t that be perfect?” Joshua shot back, his tone chilling. “Let me tell you, if you dare lay a hand on me, or if your bodyguards try to stop me, I won’t hesitate to strike back. I’m not afraid of you! If it comes to it, I’ll take action!”
Maggie was momentarily stunned by Joshua’s words. Then her anger flared again. “Joshua, do you even know what you’re saying? You ungrateful child, how dare you… How dare you pull a knife?”
