“Let’s grab a meal and celebrate together! Joshua, you deserve the most credit, so you should take a larger share!” Edith said with a grin.
Joshua chuckled. “How could I accept that? I don’t need the money that much. We’ll split the profits based on our investments–whoever invested more will get more!”
Tom laughed. “Joshua, Edith is right! This time, your contribution was the biggest. Without you, we wouldn’t have made this much money. You deserve a bigger share!“.
Gwen added with a smile, “Exactly, Joshua. Let’s each give you an extra ten percent of our profits. We’ll be more than satisfied with the rest!”
Joshua couldn’t help but laugh. “I invested way more than you did–I put in over a thousand dollars myself! Don’t overthink it. Just take what’s yours.”
Hearing this, the others stopped insisting and smiled. “What about next time, Joshua? What should we do next? Now we’ve got capital to work with!”
Joshua smiled faintly. “Of course, there will be a next time. But for now, we need to focus on studying. The SATS are just around the corner, and we must do well!”
“Agreed!”
Having lived another life, Joshua naturally knew many ways to make money and had plenty of ideas for investments.
Bitcoin was certainly a major opportunity, but Joshua understood that someone like him, without connections or influence, would find it hard to make huge profits in that market.
It was clear to him that Bitcoin’s meteoric rise was being manipulated behind the scenes. Joshua wouldn’t pin all his hopes on it.
“Invest in industries, start an online store, develop mobile games, invest in real estate, create news platforms or headline apps, and back emerging companies like Nintendo…”
It was 2013, a pivotal year. Real estate was on the rise, and the proliferation of smartphones had driven a massive shift in gaming toward mobile platforms.
This year marked the beginning of a mobile gaming explosion, a gold rush where countless developers made fortunes.
As a high school student, Joshua didn’t have much technical expertise in software development, so creating a game himself wasn’t feasible. However, he could still make money through stock investments, not just by dabbling in Bitcoin.
Once he had enough capital, he could branch out into industries, establishing his own businesses and
ventures.

For now, Joshua kept these plans to himself. He didn’t want to distract Tom, Gwen, or the others from their SATS.

With some of his earnings. Joshua spent several hundred bucks to buy himself a laptop.
Finisher
He began registering on Asimov Coins, opened an account with a securities firm, and set his money in motion, aiming to let it snowball.
At this time, Asimov Coins was still operational, and Bitcoin was far from the mainstream–considered worthless by many. As such, purchasing Bitcoin wasn’t particularly difficult. Within a single day, Joshua had successfully acquired his first Bitcoin on the platform.
Bitcoin was stored locally, with Asimov Coins merely acting as a trading platform. As long as he secured his purchase, it was entirely his.
The price of Bitcoin, however, was anything but stable. It soared, plummeted, then soared again. resembling a roller coaster with its wild fluctuations.
Yet, in the long run, its trajectory was unmistakably upward.
For Joshua, this volatility presented an opportunity. By timing the market–buying low and selling high- he could profit from the price swings and steadily grow his fortune.
For three days, Wendy had been unable to locate Joshua, and she became increasingly worried.
They went to the school to look for him, only to be told by the staff that they weren’t Joshua’s siblings or relatives. The school added that Joshua had always been registered as an orphan. This revelation left Wendy deeply shocked.
She turned to Maggie, who responded with a cold sneer. “He’s not at school. So where else could he be?”
Maggie avoided directly addressing the question, either because she was careless or unwilling to acknowledge Joshua’s relationship with the family.
Thinking back, Wendy remembered how their grandparents used to say it was Maggie’s negligence that led to Joshua being taken away and sent to an orphanage.
For years, their grandparents had been angry with Maggie, leading to heated arguments that likely left a simmering resentment in her heart.
When Joshua was eventually found and brought back, the family was initially overjoyed. But as time passed, Maggie’s attitude changed. She began to worry that Joshua’s presence might affect Frankie, her favored son, and started to distance herself from Joshua.
In her eyes, perhaps only Frankie, who was outstanding, tall, and handsome–truly deserved to be her son. She doted on him endlessly, treating him like a treasure, afraid to let him fall or falter.
Joshua, on the other hand, was merely the child they brought home from elsewhere.
To be fair, Wendy had once held similar feelings.
Compared to the polite and accomplished Frankie, Joshua seemed to have nothing going for him.

It wasn’t until Wendy stumbled upon some family records that she began to realize just how poorly Joshua had been treated within the Frasers.
