Chapter 32 What Has She Done?
After his fourth visit to the company, Wendy had the security guard throw him out.

At that time, Joshua seemed to doubt that Wendy would order the security guard to send him away. Thus, he got into a dispute with the security guard. Fearing the fight would escalate and give her company a bad name, Wendy sent a female bodyguard to beat up Joshua.
From that day onward, Joshua dared not go upstairs to her company’s office.
Joshua also brought along a soup thermos containing the short rib soup he had made during his visit. However, the soup spilled all over the floor because of the clash.
Later, the security guard reported that Joshua sat outside the company building for a while before returning inside to clean up the mess and leaving quietly.
At that time, Wendy didn’t think much of it. She simply felt superb that she managed to drive Joshua away and stop him from continuing to pester her at the company.
But now that she reflected on it, she wondered what Joshua was actually feeling when he left her company.

‘Wendy will surely like this gift! These baby’s breaths are gorgeous. Gwen and I managed to buy it after passing three streets. At first, the boss didn’t want to lower the price. Gwen and I had to negotiate for what seemed to be an eternity before the boss finally gave us a three–dollar discount!

For a moment, the expression on Wendy’s face stiffened. Suddenly, some recollections emerged in her mind.
Nonetheless, she abruptly shrugged them off and proceeded to read Joshua’s texts.
‘Guys, Wendy threw away the gift with baby’s breath I gave her. I found it in the trash can and picked it up.
I see… So, Wendy doesn’t like this kind of gift.‘ Joshua seemed to be extremely repentant.
He even sent a crying emoji to the chatroom after that.
Oh, yes. Wendy remembered Joshua indeed had given her a gift on her birthday.
But Joshua’s lamblike attitude irked her so much. As a result, when she opened the gift box and saw that it was a dirt cheap crystal ball containing baby’s breath, she casually threw his gift in the trash can.
Even so, she recalled she threw it away without Joshua’s knowledge. She didn’t even let him see, for God’s sake.
Yet, Joshua found it in the trash can the next day.
Suddenly, something crossed Wendy’s mind. With tears streaming down her cheeks nonstop, she swiftly stormed out of her room and ran toward the second floor. In two shakes, she arrived at Joshua’s room.

She pushed the door open, approached the cabinet, and searched through it. As expected, she found the crystal ball containing the baby’s breath.
Wendy hyperventilated. Her fingers trembled in disbelief as she carefully opened the crystal ball with baby’s breath, only to find a card on top.
‘Happy birthday, Wendy. I wish you would be joyful every day, smile as bright as the sun, and have a life as beautiful as a painting! Love, Joshua.‘
At once, Wendy remembered the day they celebrated her birthday. Joshua timidly took out his gift and warily passed it to her.
After the day the security guard kicked him out, Joshua had become somewhat fearful of her. Hence, he really didn’t dare to approach her.
When he took out the gift, his face was full of uneasiness.
At that time, never once did it cross Wendy’s mind that Joshua’s gift would hold such significance. As such, she threw it into the trash can after glancing at it.
To her surprise, Joshua still eventually discovered it, retrieved it from the trash can, and placed it at the bottom of this drawer.
Wendy had never realized she could be such a jerk until now.
Nonetheless, she couldn’t figure out how Joshua found out she had thrown away the gift he had carefully picked.
