Chapter 10 The Frasers Cannot Find Joshua
Joshua had already mapped out his plan to make a fortune.
If he could somehow get his hands on 20,000, everything would fall into place.
“Next up, Bitcoin,” he muttered to himself.

He grabbed a sheet of paper and wrote the word “Bitcoin” in bold before circling it with heavy strokes.
The future of this digital currency was nothing short of explosive. Over the next decade, Bitcoin would emerge as one of the biggest dark horses in the financial world, second only to real estate. Its value, once a meager 20 dollars per coin, would skyrocket to an unimaginable 65,000 dollars, multiplying over three thousand times.
Now, whoever got involved with Bitcoin stood to make a fortune.
Joshua had no particular love for Bitcoin itself. But money? Money was something he understood well, and making it was his interest.
If his memory served him correctly, the year was 2013. Bitcoin was trading at around 50 dollars a coin, but by the end of the year, it was expected to soar to a staggering 8,000 dollars. A mind–blowing increase of over 5,800% in just a single year. Even more enticing, within just a month, the price would leap from 50 to 300 dollars, a sixfold gain in a matter of weeks.
With 20,000 dollars, he could buy roughly 2,000 Bitcoins, and if he sold them a month later, he could easily walk away with a profit of over 100,000. And if he reinvested that sum, he could multiply his fortune again and again and continue to make money.
If everything went according to plan, he could turn himself into a millionaire within a year. This was the confidence that fueled his ambition.
Without wasting any time, he began to put his plan into action. First, he bought waterproof tarps and oxygen pumps. Then, he rented a small truck to drive out to the beach to pump some seawater back for filtration.
His small room was on the first floor of a suburban house. It came with a modest courtyard, a feature that made his work much more convenient.
Once he finished taking care of everything, he kept an eye on the time, waiting for school to finish. When the clock struck the right hour, he grabbed his bicycle and made his way toward the docks to buy live shrimps and crabs.
He personally selected each one, choosing only the most lively and energetic.

Though his wallet only held just over 900 dollars, it was enough for now. Without hesitation, he spent the entire amount, purchasing more than 300 pounds of shrimp and crabs.
“Now, we wait for the storm to hit,” he murmured to himself as he glanced at the weather
report.
Meanwhile, in the Fraser Residence.
It was raining heavily, and the storm was closing in on Kepong.
Maggie sat in the living room and stared out at the heavy rain. Shel felt a growing sense of frustration.
“Mrs. Locker! Mr. Stuart! Mr. Locker!” she barked. “What’s the update?”
“Mrs. Fraser, we’ve received word from Mr. Stuart. He has not found Mr. Joshua.”
Maggie’s sharp eyes narrowed, but before she could react, another report came. “Mrs. Fraser, Mr. Locker also came back empty–handed. Mr. Joshua did not go to the orphanage after leaving the Fraser Residence.”
“Where did he go?” Maggie’s voice trembled with anger as her brows knitted together.
Katherine had no answers, so she quickly shook her head.
“Go to No.16 Middle School and ask if he’s been attending classes there!” Maggie was practically on the verge of losing her mind.
It had been five days since Joshua left Fraser Residence, and in all that time, there hadn’t been a single word from him.
The first three days were calm enough, and no one was particularly worried. Everyone assumed he would return sooner or later. But those three days passed, and not even a shadow of him appeared.
In the next two days, David sent out a group to search for him. The entire day was spent scouring the city, but they found nothing.
Now, it was the fifth day.
Maggie, growing more frantic by the hour, had already dispatched Leonard and Seggy Locker to search again. Yet, as more time slipped by with no word from either of them, her patience snapped. Gritting her teeth, her voice seething with rage, she muttered, “If they manage to drag him back here, see how I’ll deal with him! He’s gone too far, too far!”

Fury surged through her like a wildfire.

Just then, Katherine, who had been standing quietly by the side, spoke up after a moment of hesitation. “Mrs. Fraser, Mr. Joshua hasn’t been attending No.16 Middle School for quite some time.”
Maggie blinked in surprise. “Not attending No.16 Middle School? Then where is he?”
“Mr. Joshua transferred three years ago when he graduated from junior high. He was admitted to 27th Street High,” Katherine explained cautiously. “But he never mentioned which class he’s in.”
For a moment, Maggie was at a loss. 27th Street High? .
She could have sworn Joshua had been attending No.16 Middle School, which was a terribly mediocre school. She had always thought it was full of students who amounted to nothing. How on earth had he managed to get into 27th Street High? Though, to be fair, 27th Street High wasn’t exactly a prestigious institution either. It was just another run–of–the–mill school in Kepong.
Her face darkened, and she snapped. “Then go to 27th Street High and look for him there!”
“Yes, Mrs. Fraser!” Katherine hurriedly replied.
