Chapter Sixty–Seven
Greg’s POV
The next couple of days have been tense. Tovi has been getting more uncomfortable and getting aggravated. She can’t go out and be with the members or go down and train with the witches. Angelica has been bringing up her work, so she doesn’t fall behind. I moved my office to our floor to be closer to Tovi. Lillian, Nana, and Pete had been trying to keep her in good spirits, but she was getting short with them. Since she couldn’t go to the crow’s nest, she has been taking her coffee out on the balcony. She and Winter would sit out there for hours, watching the pack and seeing what was going on. The pups would run behind the packhouse so they could wave to her and she wolves would send up snacks and activities for her, with notes of encouragement to keep her spirits up. Even her security team would take turns to keep her company by talking to her and making her laugh. I am proud of the pack, pulling together to keep their Luna happy and comfortable.
I got done early and walked down the hallway to our suite. Nana and Lillian were sitting in the living room and Pete was sitting at the desk in the corner, working on his laptop. “Where is
Tovi?” I asked them.
“She is sitting on the balcony facing upfront. She wanted to see the pups when they were walking home,” Nana explained, and I went to the guest room to find Travis standing next to the balcony door. He nodded his head and I walked out onto the balcony. She was leaning back on the lounger, covered with a heavy blanket, and reading a book. I kissed her on top of her head, sitting down by her side.
“What are you doing, my love? It is chilly out here. You should be inside where it is warmer and more comfortable.”
“No, it is too suffocating in there. I need to be out here, so the pack can see their Luna.” I understand her meaning, but she is supposed to be on bed rest.
“Would it make you feel better if I carried you to the dining room tonight so you can interact with the pack? I know that both you and the people would love that.” She looked up from her book and her eyes lit up.
“Yes, that would make me much better. And I want to get out of the suite for a bit. I promised to be good and sit at the table and greet everyone. Maybe I could sit in the common area, so l can interact with everyone.” I nodded my head, agreeing with her terms. There are some comfortable sectionals downstairs and I will be right there by her side if something happens.

Winter stood up, stretched, and walked over to me, nudging my hand with her nose. She wanted a scratch behind her ear, so I scratched her behind both her ears. She loves it when I
do that, to the point that she starts shaking her leg. I sat outside with Tovi until the pups walked by after school and waved at her. After they all walked by, she asked for my help and helped her to her feet. I scooped her up and carried her into the bedroom, so we could both
change our clothes before going downstairs. I changed into a T–shirt and jeans and Tovi put on
some leggings and an oversize sweater.
I helped her put her Ugg boots on, and I scooped her up and carried her downstairs. Everyone
was happy to see her and as soon as I placed her on her seat at the table, the Omegas and
pups surrounded her, wanting to know if she was ok and if she wanted anything. Her face lit
up with her beautiful smile, and she loved talking to everyone. Mrs. Cullens brought over our
plates of beef tips with mashed potatoes and steamed mixed vegetables. An Omega brought
out our drinks, and we sat, enjoying our meals and the company of the pack.
It was an enjoyable evening, as Tovi watched as I played games with the pups and talked to their parents. She is so relaxed and happy, laughing at the pups when they are making silly comments to me. We played until it was eight in the evening, and it was bedtime for the pups.
I scooped Tovi up and carried her back to our suite. I could feel her exhaustion through the mate bond. I took her to our room and helped her get ready for bed. I changed for bed and crawled into bed, cuddling up to my mate, inhaling her scent, and I fell asleep.
We were sleeping so soundly when I suddenly felt pain rip through the bond. I woke up and sat up, looking over at Tovi. She was sitting on the edge of the bed, leaning over.
“Are you ok? Is it the baby?” I asked her, a bit panicked. She nodded her head and groaned through another round of pain.
“I think I am in labor. The contractions were around five minutes apart. We need to go to the hospital right now. I have linked Dr. James and he said to get to the hospital now!”
“Ok, stay right here. I will have someone bring the car and we will go. Let me grab your bag, put some shoes on, and grab our phones.” She nodded her head, breathing through another contraction. Winter looked at me and whined.
“I need to get back and help her with the labor. Take care of our girl for me,” and Winter disappeared into Tovi. I quickly grabbed everything and scooped Tovi up, running out the door to the elevator. Moneo had the SUV pull up to the door as soon as the elevator doors opened, and I ran out the door. I placed Tovi in the middle of the seat and jumped in. Moneo drove as fast as he could to the hospital, with Tovi yelling in pain.

“Greg, in my bag, there is a small vial in there. Please grab it. Sienna made it for me to help
with the pain.” I reached into the side pocket of her bag and found the vial. I gave it to her, and she drank it quickly. Within a few minutes, she was feeling more comfortable, and less pain as the contractions continued. We got to the hospital and there was the doctor and a couple of nurses standing out front, with a wheelchair for Tovi. The SUV stopped, and I jumped out,
scooping Tovi up and placing her in the chair. Moneo had already grabbed her bag and quickly
brought it to me.
“Go be with our Luna, boss. I will be up there shortly to watch over the two of you until the rest
of the security team arrives,” he said, placing his hand on my shoulder. I nodded my head and
ran along with the medical team, seeing if they could stop the contractions or if we would be
having a baby girl tonight. They wheeled her to a private room on the labor and delivery floor,
helping her onto the bed and making her comfortable. The nurses helped Tovi change into a
gown and hooked the monitors up to see the contractions and monitor Piper’s heartbeat.
When they were finished, Dr. James came in to check on her. He had to check her dilation,
even though Deacon was getting upset because another wolf was touching Tovi. I pushed him
into the back of my mind, waiting for Dr. James.
“Alpha, Luna, looks like you will be having a baby tonight. You are dilated to seven right now. It
is too late to stop the contractions. All we can do is try our best to keep you comfortable and
get the NICU team ready for the baby. I say in the next couple of hours, we will have a baby,”
he announced, covering Tovi back up. “Until then, try and get some rest between contractions.
I will be back in a half hour to check on her.” He walked out of the door, giving instructions to
one of the nurses. I sat down next to Tovi, holding her hand.
“How are you feeling right now, my love?” I asked her, kissing the back of her hand.
“The potion worked. I feel a lot less pain and slight discomfort. I am not miserable in pain.
Piper will be fine when she comes. Slightly smaller than ordinary pups, but extremely healthy.”
She assured me, squeezing my hand.
