Chapter Sixty–Five
Tovi’s POV
I took one bite of Mrs. Cullens‘ cake and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The sweet chocolate flavor, with the white chocolate frosting. It has definitely helped my craving, and I was content. I thanked Mrs. Cullens for the cake and went to head to my office. I miss the pups that run around the pack, but they are all in school. With me having two months left, I haven’t been able to play with the pups as much. I have been either staying in my office or our suite.
This pregnancy has made me very tired. When I am not in my office working or training, I am sleeping. I am tired of waddling, and I am tired that my clothes don’t fit anymore. I can’t leave the pack because of Paul and Shelia running loose and my life is still being threatened as long as they are alive. Angelica and Georgia keep me company when they are not busy working. Angelica has been helping a lot with the pack business, going over the supply lists and ordering what we needed. Georgia is a nurse at the pack hospital, so she monitors the pregnancy when she is with me. They both filled me in with any gossip going through the pack and let me know how the members were doing. The pups are always asking them how I have been doing and that they miss me. Soon, I will be able to play with them again.
I have been learning different potions and spells from the witches. Sienna has taught me to make a potion to help with my exhaustion, and it will not harm my pup. They have settled well into the pack and I have been thinking about building them a separate house for them, so they can move out of the guest house and have their own home. With an attack looming, it will have to wait until later.
I have been allowing Winter out every day for her protection and company. She loves the pups and when we do see them, she lets them crawl all over her. I cannot wait for Piper to be here so they can play together.
My mother and Deidre planned a baby shower this weekend with the pack members. They are planning a cookout in the backyard, so anyone can attend, as long as they bring diapers and a book for the baby. I already got my outfit, a pink sweater dress with pink slip–on Hey Dudes. Angelica will do my hair and make–up for me.
A few days later
It is the day of the baby shower. The packhouse was buzzing with activity as everyone was preparing. There are streamers, balloons, and signs in and out of the packhouse. Deidre had a

huge tent set up because it was supposed to rain later on. I woke up not feeling well, believing it was because of the pregnancy. Winter stays out all night to watch over us, and she has been lying on the floor at my side of the bed. She looked up at me with concern.
“Tovi, are you ok?” she asked.
“I just don’t feel good,” I told her. I have eight more weeks before Piper is supposed to be here.
“Let me back in, and I will check on the pup and I will let you know if everything is ok.” I nodded my head and walked into the bathroom to do my business quickly, and then I let her back in. The nausea has quit since I have been doing this daily.
“Something doesn’t feel right. Just don’t do much today. Get a hold of Dr. James and Sienna and have them check on you,” Winter told me in my mind. “I will watch over the pup while you get ready for the baby shower. If the pup is in distress, I will let you know right away.” She lay down in my mind, whining a bit. She can feel what I am feeling. I jumped in the shower and washed my hair and body. I got out afterward, dried off, and put my hair up in the towel. I quickly brushed my teeth and put some moisturizer on my face and lotion on my body. This pregnancy has been drying out my skin like crazy. Walking into the closet, I put on a sweater dress and some Ugg boots. I will put my outfit on before the shower. I went back into the bathroom, brushing my hair and leaving it down. I need to get to the salon and have it trimmed and layered.
Greg walked in from training as I was finishing up in the bathroom.
“Hello, my beauty. How are you feeling today?” he asked, wrapping his sweaty and dirty arms
around me.
“I feel off today. I don’t know what it could be. I am going to go see Sienna and see what she senses. I will see Dr. James after the shower and have him monitor the baby. Winter said that the baby was fine, but I would feel more comfortable when I saw her on the ultrasound,” explaining to him.
“Take it easy today. Go up to the crow’s nest and relax up there. I will have Mrs. Cullens bring you some snacks and lunch up there. I will go down and grab some breakfast for you. Have your mom go up and start the coffee machine for you.” He kissed me with concern on his face. We had a coffee maker and mini fridge installed up in the crow’s nest, so we could have
coffee and snacks up there at all times.
I nodded my head and walked out of the bedroom. Nana was in the kitchen, making breakfast
for all of us. Mother came here last night, and she was sitting at the island, talking to Nana,
and drinking her coffee. I kissed both of them on the cheek and Nana handed me a cup

coffee and pointed at the island.
“Sit down and relax. We have everything under control,” she said, smiling at me. She was excited because she wanted to see all the gifts that everyone had gotten. “What time does it
start?” she asked.
“It starts at two, mother. I have told you before,” mother answered her. Being the Luna at
Ocean Bay looks good on her. She never looked happier and healthier than she ever had.
Getting rid of Paul did wonders for her. Before she rejected him, he was very abusive towards
her, physically and mentally. He tore her down so badly that he convinced her to treat me like a lowly slave.
“Where is dad, mother?” I asked her.
“He should be coming back from training soon. He went down with Greg this morning. I’m
surprised that he hasn’t come up with your mate,” she replied, taking a bite out of her scrambled eggs that Nana made. I looked down at my plate and saw scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. I started to eat, knowing that I was not very hungry, but I had to eat anyway, for the baby and my strength. When I was almost done, dad finally walked in, with Jack and Jason
following him. The three of them were bloody, dirty, and sweaty.
“PETE! What happened to you?” mother yelled, running up to dad.
“We went on patrol on the outside of the walls and found a dozen rogues spying on us. They all got killed by us and several more of Greg’s warriors. Paul must be getting desperate, sending a dozen scouts. We found a few of them on the wall and the rest on the ground.”
“Then, it is time I ordered sensors and have them placed on top of the wall now,” Greg said, walking into the kitchen, and kissing me on top of my head. He sat down next to me to eat his
breakfast.
“I can have those sensors here and installed by next weekend. I believe there are a thousand of them in the warehouse. That should be enough for the wall until we can have more manufactured and delivered to the warehouse,” Jason told Greg.
“Get them here this evening and start on them tomorrow. I will not delay the protection of the pack and the people,” Greg told him, taking a bite out of a piece of bacon. Jason nodded his
head and left our suite.
“I am going to go and talk to Sienna. I will be back in a bit.” I kissed my mate and walked towards the door.
“Don’t forget your protection.” I heard from Greg. I closed my eyes, and she appeared at my

feet. “That is better. I will see you soon.” Winter and I walked out the door, with Oscar and Nick
standing outside, waiting for me. We went downstairs and out the door, towards the guest house. The air is slightly chilled, wondering if we will be getting snow at the end of September,
in the mountains. Sienna was sitting on the porch, drinking some coffee.
“Luna, I knew you were going to come. Please, come in and have some coffee and cinnamon
rolls that I made this morning. I know you want to talk.” She got up and opened the door,
allowing Winter and me to walk through. Oscar and Nick stood next to the door, guarding it.
Sienna pointed towards the sectional, motioning me to sit down. Marguerite and Sam were
sitting in the library, studying some books. A few minutes later, Sienna brought me some
coffee and a cinnamon roll and set them on the coffee table. “What is bothering you, Tovi?”
she asked, knowing that something was bothering me:
“I woke up this morning just not feeling good. Like something is not right. I have no clue what
it was, but it doesn’t sit right. Winter said that the baby was ok, but I will see Dr. James after
the shower to make sure.”
“With both of you being pureblood Alphas and so is this pup, sometimes Alpha pups come
early, fully developed, and ready to take on the world. Let me check by placing my hands on
your stomach.” I nodded my head, and she placed her hands on my stomach. Piper went into
a kicking frenzy, making me wince. Sienna smiled and looked at me. “She is ready to come.
Expect her to be here in the next few days. Better make sure that everything is ready and done.
I will be by your side when it is time.”
“This is true. When I got back into your mind, your daughter was linking me, wanting to get
out. I told her to wait for a few more days. She is not happy right now,” Winter explained to me.
“Wait, you could link my daughter?” I asked Winter.
“Yes, she and I have a special bond, ever since she was conceived. I will protect her until my
last breath,” she explained to me, knowing that Piper would be well–protected after she was
born.
“Tovi, go up to your suite and get some rest, save your strength. You will need it in a few days,”
Sienna told me. “Here, take this with you. It will help with the pain when the time comes, but it
will not affect you or the baby, but it will numb the pain. Do not take it until your contractions
are about three minutes apart.” She handed a small vial to me and told me to put it in my hospital bag. I nodded, hugged her, and walked out the door. I headed back to our suite and
went to my room, placing the vial in my bag. Luckily, I had my bag packed.
I went up to the crow’s nest, with Nick and Oscar helping me up the spiral stairs. Being this

pregnant was getting hard to get up and down the stairs. I already have a stack of books up here to read. I went through the library earlier in the week and pulled a few to read in here and had Greg bring them up for me. That way, I didn’t have to struggle going up and down the
stairs with them.
I curled up on the couch, starting to read a new book that I had just received. I was into the book when Mrs. Cullens brought some lunch, chicken noodle soup, with a ham and cheese sandwich, water, and orange juice. She also brought a basket of chocolate chip muffins for me to snack on. I thanked her and ate my lunch and a muffin. The food got me full and made me drowsy, so I laid down for a nap.
About an hour later, Angelica woke me up. “Tovi, time to get up and get ready for your shower. I know you are tired, but you have to make your appearance. Then you can come back and get some more rest.” I nodded my head and got up. Henry and Moneo helped me down the stairs and I went to our suite. Angelica and I went to my room, where she helped me get into my outfit, and since it had gotten colder outside, she helped me with my warmer boots, tying them up for me since I couldn’t bend over to tie them. Then she helped me with my hair and
light make–up.
