Chapter Fifty–Six
Greg’s POV
I have been getting weekly updates from Mac, and it is not looking good. Paul had just made a deal with the rogue Alpha for two thousand wolves and three truckloads of lumber to help build up the compound. Paul is also trying to buy land around the compound, but I am beating him to it. I have insider information when it comes to real estate and when anything around
the compound is for sale, I will try to snag it before Paul catches wind that it is for sale. Once
in a while, I don’t move fast enough, and he ends up getting it.
Mac told me that with the two thousand wolves that Paul is getting and the twenty–five
hundred that he currently has, that puts him at forty–five hundred. Between me, Pete, Carter,
and Jacoby, we have five thousand warriors. I am getting more so that if Paul increases his numbers, we are prepared. We have been stocking up on supplies and doing drills to get everyone to the bunkers at a reasonable time.
My spy is also trying to get on the leaders‘ good side, trying to get in their group, and finding out information about when the attack will happen. The rogues have been training hard, improving their fighting, and making them stronger. We have been doing the same. I will be having an Alpha expo in the next few days, trying to convince them to get in the fight and defeat Paul and his group of rogues. I am not going to lose my pack that my family for several
generations have worked hard to build.
“What’s up, boss?” Jason said when he and Jack walked into my office. I looked up from my reports and I ran my hand through my hair.
“It’s not looking good. Paul just got two thousand rogues from the rogue Alpha, and I am getting worried that we won’t have enough to defeat him.”
“We have been training longer than Paul’s rogues, and we are very powerful, Greg,” Jason explained to me. “We have started training with the weapons that you just bought, and it looks promising to defeat them. We have increased patrols and I think that we should build a wall around the perimeter of the pack, to help slow them down and give our warriors time to kill any rogues that get over the wall.” I like the suggestion, but can we have it built in time?
“Get me the estimation of the build and how fast we can get it built. I want it to be ten feet tall and a couple of feet thick. Also, improve the gates at all of our entrances so they cannot plow through them. Get it started today if you can get the information to me ASAP” telling him as I got up and looked out the window, watching the pups playing in the playground. I need to do

this to protect the future of the pack and make it a safe place for our pups.
“Well, since I knew you were going to ask for the estimation and timeline of when it could be done, I already got it done. I have the information in my files in my office. I will go and get it now,” Jason replied. I was proud that he thought of the protection of the pack and got the
information before I asked for it.
“Jack, what do you think? Do you think that we can defeat them?”
“1
“Cuz, if we get everything in place and train the pack to where they can defend themselves, yes, I believe that we can defeat them.” Jack came up and put his arm around my shoulder. We can do this because we believe in ourselves and we have a strong pack and great allies. Paul is doing this to get at Tovi for something that HE did, not her. The pack loves her because she is an amazing Luna, putting the pack’s needs above her own, and making sure that everyone is happy and comfortable. The pack has improved a lot since she has been here. The youth center, the playground, and two new apartment buildings, and she is carrying the future of this pack. This pack will make sure that she is safe and stays safe from any threats
out there.”
“I hope you are right, Jack. I love her, and it would kill me if anything happened to her and my pup. I love seeing the interactions she has with the members and it is a positive one. Everyone is happy to see her and loves being around her. Tovi is the light that the pack and I need.”
I see Tovi and Sienna walking up to the playground and the pups stop what they are doing and run up to her, hugging and talking to her. I smiled as she said hi to all of them and then went to their parents, talking to them. She hugged some of them and was laughing with the parents. It is time for a break.
Jack saw her interaction and smiled. “See what I mean. They love her, including the rogues that we made new members. She has that pull with everyone and is so easygoing with them. Go to her and enjoy the rest of the day off. I got it and if it is an emergency, I’ll link you.” | thanked him and ran out the door. The pups saw me as soon as I walked out the back door and I got tackled to the ground.
“ALPHA, ALPHA! Can you play tag with us?” they asked once they got me to the ground. I was laughing and started to tickle some of them.
“If you all let me up, I will. But let me talk to Luna first.” They cheered and let me up. I walked to Tovi and kissed her. I heard a bunch of “EWWWW!” from the pups and we chuckled.
“I’m sorry about that, Alpha. The kids love you and the Luna,” one of the parents said. “It’s ok. It is great that they can come up to us and ask us anything. It will teach them that the

line of communication will always be open to them and any other member of the pack and to come to us when they have a problem. I do not want my members to be afraid and not come to me or Tovi when they need help. My door is always open to anyone,” I explained to them.” Now, I am going to play some tag with the pups and afterward, I would like to talk with all of you, to see how you are doing and if you need anything, like something needing to be fixed or groceries. I want to make sure you are all taken care of, too.” They shook their heads and I
went to play tag.
An hour later, the pups had me worn out and I called a time–out. I linked Tovi to see about snacks and drinks for the pups while I talked to their parents. Some parents are concerned about the attack that is coming up, and how to get more training for them and their families. A couple of them had leaky roofs and one had a leaky faucet and I linked my head construction man and told him to send crews to their homes and get the problem fixed. I linked Mrs. Cullens and asked if she and the Omegas could get some pizzas together for the parents and the pups and bring them out to the picnic area. She said no problem.
An hour later, we were all having fun and enjoying the pizzas brought out for us. Jason brought out the estimation and timeline for the wall to me and I signed off on it, telling him to start today. I am hoping that we can get it done before the attack.
Tovi approached me, placed her arms around my waist, and kissed me on the cheek. “We should have a kid’s day, with games and bouncy houses, so everyone can take their minds off the attack and have a fun and stress–free day. I can start on the planning right now. I need your approval.” That sounds like a great idea. I nodded my head and kissed her, my hand.
rubbing on her baby bump.
“Soon, we will be doing this with our pup,” I continued, rubbing her bump and holding her close, watching everyone having fun. I am happy that I took a break and came out here. The stress of the attack was getting to me, and I was beginning to lose focus. This helped me regain my focus on why we have to win this battle.
