Chapter Forty–Nine
Greg’s POV
I am happy that Pete made it back safely and with the coven mother and four witches. So, they have agreed to train Tovi here, especially when her life is in danger. I hope that Tovi will be able to manage the training and be able to do her job as a Luna. I could see that she looked so much better now that she was allowed to leave the suite. Her skin was glowing, and she had a huge smile on her face. The pack members look happier, too, because they know their Luna is safe and well. Next time, I will not enforce such a security protocol and just assign a security team to be with her.
I got some more information about the rogues in the city and the warehouse. I got intel that there was an underground bunker and that rogues had been showing up there at all hours of the day. Mac got in and he is there now. He told me that Shelia was there, but he hadn’t seen Paul yet. Paul left Denver and went to Wyoming a couple of days ago. From my trackers, he is looking for the rogue Alpha. Several packs have been looking for him for several years now, with no luck. So, why would Paul have any luck finding him and his rogues? He was tracked to Bridger Peak and then his trail went cold. Perhaps there is an underground bunker that they missed. I am sending some warriors to help find Paul.
Paul’s POV
I got a lead a few weeks ago on where the rogue king and his group would be. He is the most wanted wolf by the council because he has been attacking the smaller packs, killing off half of the members and the Alpha, forcing the remaining members to voice their allegiance to him. Last I heard, he is over four thousand strong. That is more than enough to take over
Mountain Moon.
After Denver, I went to Wyoming, near Bridger Peak. There is an abandoned mine somewhere near there and that is where he is supposed to be. It was a five–hour drive from Denver, out in the middle of nowhere. I get out with my security team, looking around the scenery. I was told to take a trail on the peak and leave it when I was a mile down and walk another two miles, and I should be able to find the abandoned mine. We get there and there are signs that there are people around. I could smell other wolves around the mine. We walked towards the mine and several rogues walked out of the bushes.
“Who the f**k are you and why are you here?” one of the rogues asked us.
“I am looking for the rogue Alpha, I need his help to destroy the strongest pack in the country,”

Chapter Forty–Nine
I replied.
“Who are you?”
“My name is Paul Gooding and I need help. I would like to talk to the rogue Alpha please.”
“Hold on,” the guard replied. He was linking someone, with his eyes being glazed over. I thought rogues couldn’t link to each other unless they were in a pack or had a mate. It took a few minutes and then his eyes went back to their usual color.
“You,” he said, pointing at me, “can come. The rest will have to stay. Alpha will see you now.” I looked at my guys, nodding my head at them. I followed the guard into the mine, and it looked like they reinforced the tunnels and installed lights. We walked for a while before we came up to a cave. There were a couple of hundred rogues in there and we kept on walking. We must have walked several miles of tunnels and caverns before we finally got to an opening and a huge wolf was standing there in the middle, snarling at us.
“Alpha, our guest,” the guard bowed, turned, and walked away. The wolf came up to me and was checking me out. It was bigger than any other Alpha wolf I have seen, except for two, Pete Davidson and Greg Salyers. I guess the more powerful your pack is, the bigger your wolf is. It walked to one side and shifted. A tall man stood in its place, very muscular, and with tattoos and scars all over. He has seen his share of fights.
“Gamma Paul Gooding, of the Blood Stone Pack,” he said, throwing on some shorts. “Well, I can say former Gamma of Blood Stone. My spies tell me everything. You got banished because you couldn’t keep your hands to yourself and beat a pup up to a few days before her eighteenth birthday. The only reason you got caught is that you got too cocky, and the Beta turned you in. It wasn’t her fault that you got banished. It was your own. Then your mate rejected you as you were getting kicked out, because you were abusing her, too. You are not a wolf; you are a worthless piece of s**t that got what was coming to you. It just took sixteen years before you got punished.” I growled at him, his guards taking a stance to attack me if I moved. “You were lucky that Alpha Zane didn’t have you killed for your actions. And now here you are, a few weeks after being banished, and you are taking your vengeance out on the wrong people. I see that you got what you had coming, losing your eye to your ex–stepdaughter, whom I heard is an immensely powerful Luna at Mountain Moon. You came here to ask for my help to take over Mountain Moon and Ocean Bay. Why should I help you with my pack? I have over four thousand, and they are all not here. I have another location where the families are, and I would be damned if I had pups growing up without their parents around, being killed in your vendetta. Yes, it would be nice to be able to have all of my pack together, in one place, be able to live without fear and have them enjoy life.”

“I am here asking for your help to take over Mountain Moon and Ocean Bay. I will let over Mountain Moon if we are successful, as it is the largest pack in North America, and it has the most room for all your members. Plus, any members that survive the attack can become your members, making your pack even larger. Greg has a couple of remarkably successful businesses that will make you billions every year. So, not only will you be extremely powerful, but also extremely rich. I want Tovi, Lillian, Greg, Pete, and Zane all dead. I want my old pack, Blood Stone, back, and the other rogue I am working with could have Ocean Bay. We all win by having the best packs in the Western United States,” I explained to him. I see him thinking about what I offered him, knowing that he would take it.
“Very interesting offer,” he replied, “but where would my wolves stay until then? They need somewhere that they will be safe, have housing and food, and be able to train themselves until
we are ready to attack.”
“Ronnie, the other rogue leader, has a compound that they could stay in, along with an underground bunker. I have funds that I embezzled from Blood Stone that I could use to purchase additional land and build homes for your wolves, along with training facilities for them to train. Ronnie’s compound is huge, over thirty–five hundred acres, and I can make it bigger. It is an hour east of Sacramento and Mountain Moon.”
“Interesting. I like your idea. You put some thought into this offer. Let me talk to my high–ranking wolves and counsel and I will let you know. Until then, you and your men will be guests here until I decide. My guards will take you to the other location, where there is more room, and the facilities are better there than here. I hide here, so the other packs can not find me as easily and protect my people. The location is an hour north of here. Sorry, but all four of you will be blindfolded, so you don’t know the location. It is very remote, safe, and quiet. I send my warriors to Casper once a month to get the supplies we need to survive.”
I nodded my head and one of the guards led me back to the entrance of the pack. We walked back to the parking lot where the SUV was parked, got inside, and were told to put a black bag over my head. The guard drove us to the other location, which took an hour to get to. When we got there, we were told to take the sacks off, and I was in shock. It was like a large town, with lots of houses and bunkers. Pups were running all over the place, playing with each other. There were gardens all over the place where the members were tending. I see a herd of cattle to the side, with wolves on horses taking care of the herd. This place is mostly self–efficient and that is good. Save on the cost of food and shipping to have supplies delivered. We pulled up to a big bunker and a couple of wolves were standing there, waiting for us. I got out of the
SUV and walked up to them.
“Paul Gooding, welcome. I am Beta Vince DeMarco and this is Gamma Tyler Simpson,” the

wolf said, shaking my hand, along with the Gamma. “I will see that you and your men will be
well taken care of and not bothered by our people. There are a couple of rules we have for our
guests. You are not allowed to leave unless we take you off the compound, for the safety of
our people, and you will respect everyone here, including the Omegas. We know about your
treatment towards Omegas and if you mistreat any of them, we are not afraid to kill you and
your men. We need all of our members to help keep this place going successfully. Do you understand?” I nodded my head, even though I did not agree with the Omegas. They are weak
and worthless, not even worth treating them like a pack member. But as Vince said, they need
them to keep this place running successfully. Vince showed us into the bunker. It had a dozen
rooms inside. He showed me the first one.
“I’m sorry it is not the greatest, but you will be comfortable here, with air conditioning in the
summer and heat in the winter. The bathroom is basic, but it will accommodate your needs. I
will show you all where the kitchen and dining area is. Our kitchen staff is superb, keeping the
buffet full all day, as our members work throughout the day, relieving each other for meals and breaks. Our people work throughout the day to keep our food supply high, our herd healthy, and our horses comfortable, so we can use them for work. If you would like to take a ride
around the property, let me know and I will show you around.”
“I’m sorry, but I have never been on a horse,” I warned him.
“That is ok. We have horses for beginners and are very forgiving of any mistakes you make. You will be impressed with what we have done with the place. My mate’s uncle used to own
this place, and when he passed, she inherited it. At the time, we needed a place for our families to raise their pups, instead of constantly moving from location to location. We have been here for over thirty years, and we are successful with it. The herd and gardens help make us money, and we own a real estate business in Casper and Salt Lake City. So, we are not hurting for money here. We also have a sawmill over by Bridger Peak where we lumber our wood and ship all over the country. Alpha has told me of your proposition and I like it. We could even supply the lumber to help build up the compound, helping with the costs of construction. We can also supply meat, but we would need help to increase the herd to do
that.”
I like this place. It is quiet and everyone is working together to keep this place going. This would be perfect to help feed all the rogues and build the compound.
