Chapter Twenty–three
At the end of the day, we counted two lost pack members, several businesses and homes
were destroyed, and numerous wolves were injured. We went to the pack hospital to help tend
to the wounded, cleaning scratches and cuts, bandaging them, and sending wolves to the staff for stitches and more serious injuries. It was late before we got to the packhouse, and Mrs. Smith and the Omegas got most of the mess cleaned up. Warriors were boarding up broken windows and patio doors. Greg and Alpha were standing there, helping move pieces of plywood to the windows. As soon as I saw Greg, I ran up to him, jumped in his arms, and gave him a deep kiss. Luna walked up to Alpha, hugged and kissed him.
“How did this attack get this bad?” I asked Alpha.
“I don’t know,” he said. “But I will look into it.”
“This is the worst attack that this pack has experienced,” Beta Richard said. “There were a lot
more of them this time. Normally, there would be ten to twenty of them. This time, there were
over a hundred. Whoever is orchestrating this is getting bolder.”
“Zane,” Greg said, “I will send more warriors for you.”
“As will I,” my father said as he stepped up. Zane bowed his head at both, grateful for their
help.
“Jack, get with the security firm and send out some teams,” Greg ordered. “And get a hold of
Franco and Andrea. They are the best trackers that I know. Tell them I will pay double to find
where these rogues are hiding.” Jack nodded and got on his phone immediately.
“Zane, I do need to get back to my pack and make sure everything is ok,” Greg explained. “I
also need to induct Tovi and Angelica into my pack and make Tovi into my Luna, so I can focus on these rogues and get rid of them once and for all.”
“Go ahead, Greg, Alpha said. “You have done more than enough while you have been here. I
am sure that your Gamma will keep you updated, and we will reschedule Bjorn’s ceremony
next week after everything has been cleaned up and fixed. Right now, I need to help the two
members that we lost, get their memorial service taken care of and their families situated.” I
nodded, and took Tovi by the hand, taking her up to her room.
We jumped into the shower as soon as we got into her room. Both of us were in somber moods, not in the mood to make love. I just wanted to hold her and appreciate the fact that
she was safe, and no harm had happened to her. I will have to reward Moneo and Henry when
we get home. After the shower, she mind linked for some food, something simple to make and

eat, and have it delivered to her room. They brought some spaghetti and meatballs, with garlic
bread. We sat on the sofa to eat and watch a movie for a bit.
It was after midnight when we finally got to bed. Jack mind linked on updates with the
clean–up and most of it was done before we went to bed. Tovi cuddled up to me, and we were
both asleep in minutes.
Tovi’s POV
I woke up the next morning in a somber mood. My home was attacked yesterday, losing two
members, one of them being my history teacher, Mr. Peterson, and I am leaving my pack
today, to go to my new pack, and become the new Luna. I know that Greg’s mother has been
planning a Luna ceremony for the last couple of days since Greg and I found each other. We
are pushing for the ceremony to be held within a week, so I can take over and help Greg grow
the pack. Angelica will be joining us on the trip to California. I got up and got dressed. Greg
was already up, getting things arranged for our trip, and had most of my bags taken down and
loaded into the SUV. I just had my make–up and bathroom stuff to pack and to be taken down.
After everything was packed and taken down, we went to the dining room for the last time for
me as a member. Tomorrow, I will be eating breakfast at Mountain Moon. Everyone was in a
somber mood because I was leaving. I ate only a fruit cup and drank a cup of coffee. My
appetite was nonexistent this morning. I ran into the kitchen to hug Mrs. Smith and tell her
goodbye. She gave me a small cooler full of snacks and drinks.
I met Greg at the door, gave Henry the bag to be loaded, and turned to everyone standing
there. My mother, father, brother, Corbin, Rocky, Caitlin, Richard, Margo, Luna, and Alpha were
all standing there. I gave them all a hug, telling my parents and Bjorn that I would see them
soon. Mother is going to Ocean Bay with my father in a few days. She just has a few things
left to do. Rocky will be coming out in a week for the ceremony and see both Angelica and I
become members of Mountain Moon. Alpha and Luna will be there, too. After saying goodbye
to everyone, I walked to the SUV and got in the middle seat, with Greg next to me. As soon as
the door was shut, I broke down and started to cry. This has been my home for the last
eighteen years, and now I am leaving it. Greg wrapped his arms around me, just holding me
while I cried. I cried as we passed through the gates to the airport. By the time we got to the
plane, I had cried out all the tears. I was just a zombie at that point. Greg got me out of the
SUV, carried me up the stairs, and placed me on the bed in a room at the back of the plane. He
told me to rest, and that he would check on me in a bit.
Greg’s POV
I feel bad for taking her away from her family and friends. At least she will have Angelica with
her, to help her to get settled in. The captain came up to me and told me that we would be

leaving in a half hour. I nodded my head. The flight attendant, Lydia, asked us if we wanted
anything before lift–off. Jack wanted a whiskey; I took the same. I got a text message from my dad, stating that he would be at the airport in an hour and a half to pick us up. I texted him back, telling him to bring two SUVs. I am anxious to get home and make sure that everything
is in good order.
Half an hour later, the captain announced that we were taking off, and that was when Tovi
came up front. She quickly sat down next to Angelica and put on her seatbelt. Her eyes were
puffy and red, and her face was stained with tears. Angelica put her arm on her best friend, telling her that it would be ok. Tovi nodded her head.
“How long will it take for us to get to Sacramento?” she asked.
“About an hour, then it is a two–hour drive to the pack,” I replied. “You have plenty of time to
take a nap and get yourself together.” She nodded, leaning against Angelica, and closing her
eyes. Once we hit altitude, Lydia came back out and asked the girls if they wanted anything.
“I’ll have a coffee, please, with three sugars and three creams,” Tovi answered. Angelica asked
for the same. Moneo sat across from the girls, leaning forward and rubbing Angelica’s knee. I
know he is also worried about her.
“Do you girls want a blanket and a pillow?” he asked them. He would treat Angelica like a
queen. I will make sure he will get a raise so he can spoil my Luna’s best friend. The girls.
shook their heads, and he went to the closet and grabbed a couple of blankets and pillows for
them. He handed me Tovi’s blanket and pillow, so I could make her comfortable. He went to
Angelica and covered her up and placed the pillow under her head. I picked Tovi up and moved
her onto my lap, covering her with a blanket. She cuddled up to my chest and fell back asleep.
Forty–five minutes later, the captain announced that we would be landing, so I gently moved
Tovi to the seat next to me, trying not to wake her. She woke up, startled, and looked at me
with fear on her face.
“It’s ok, baby,” I coaxed her, “we are getting ready to land. I’m sorry that I woke you up. Lydia
has your coffee right here if you want to drink it quickly.”
“I’m sorry that I fell asleep,” she said sleepily. “I am just emotionally drained by everything that has happened in the last twenty–four hours. I just can’t wait to get to my new home and start. working.” She will be a great Luna, already anxious to get to work. Mom will have to show her
the ins and outs of being a Luna.
Tovi’s POV
We landed fifteen minutes later, and two SUVS were waiting for us, along with three wolves standing next to them. One of them looked older and looked just like Greg. Oh no! I’m meeting

his dad, and I’m not even properly dressed! I am wearing leggings, a T–shirt, and a hoodie over top.
“You could have told me that your dad is meeting us,” I squeaked. “I’m not even dressed to
meet him!”
Greg chuckled. “Don’t worry, you will be fine. Mom used to dress the same way when they were traveling. Sometimes she would keep an extra outfit in the bedroom to change into when
they were going to different packs. Dad is used to it,” he explained to me. Ok, I don’t feel as
bad now, looking like a bum.
The plane stops, and the captain opens the door for us. We walked down, and I saw a huge
smile on everyone’s faces. They are thrilled that their Alpha and son have finally found his
mate. Greg’s dad walked up, hugged me, and looked at me with pride all over his face.
“Welcome to Mountain Moon, Luna Tovi,” he said while bowing his head. “I am Greg’s dad,
Andrew, the former Alpha of the pack, now retired and loving it immensely. My wife, Deidre, is
at home, holding a small party together to welcome you and Angelica to the pack.” I looked
over at Greg, with a surprised look.
“A party? Sir, I am not dressed for a party as soon as we get there,” I panicked. They both
chuckled.
“You have time to go up and change and freshen up when we get there,” Andrew said, smiling
at my panicked look.
The warriors got everything loaded up, with my three suitcases, Angelica’s two, and the guys‘ bags. Greg, his dad, Jack, two warriors, and I loaded up in the first one. Angelica, Moneo,
Henry, and Travis loaded up in the second.
I fell asleep again, the exhaustion getting to me. I hope I can have a day when I can just relax and recharge before getting to work as a Luna. The next thing I knew, I was being woken up by
Greg.
“Babe, we are here,” he said proudly. “Welcome home.” We pulled up to a beautiful set of gates, with four warriors standing there. They all bowed their heads, yelling welcome home, Alpha, and Luna. The whole pack must have known that I was coming home. We drove up the black topped road, with trees surrounding it. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw wolves running in the woods. They must have been protecting the SUVS as we headed to the packhouse. The woods start thinning out, as houses start to appear. The pack members must live in them. The further along we go, the more houses we see. There is a huge school for the pups, with a football field, and playground for the pups to play on. We saw a bunch of pups playing, but as soon as we got up to them, they all came running up, waving, and cheering. I smiled at their

welcome. It was adorable. Then we went through the center, with a different variety of shops and restaurants throughout. I want to visit them and see what they have to offer.
Finally, after going through a neighborhood of houses and townhouses, I saw the packhouse.
It was a lot bigger than Blood Stone’s packhouse. There are six stories, with two wings off the
main part of the house. In front of the packhouse, there was a circle drive with a fountain in
the middle of it. It was beautiful.
“The packhouse is huge,” I said in awe. Greg chuckled.
“It is six stories tall,” he explained to me. “The west wing is for the high–ranking members, the other side has rooms for the Omegas, unmated members, and guests. There is a huge kitchen with two walk–in coolers and freezers, eight ovens, three six–burner stoves, and four grills. It is big enough to feed the whole pack. The dining room is big enough to hold a thousand wolves,
two communal areas to hang out in, a huge theater room that holds a hundred wolves, two
conference rooms, and a huge laundry room with eight washers and dryers. Our offices are on the second floor. Our floor has the Alpha suite, six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a living area, and a small kitchen if you don’t want to eat downstairs. The other two floors are like that,
too. Jack lives on the fifth floor, and Jason lives on the fourth. Three of my Deltas live on the third floor, and the other two live close by in their own homes. Out back, there is a pool,
training grounds, and the warrior’s building that holds three hundred of my warriors. We have a
cell house where we keep the prisoners on the other side of the pack. The shopping center consists of at least a hundred shops and restaurants. We do most of our shopping there. The pack hospital is just over there, close by in case of an emergency.” I was just in awe of how big this place is and what it all consists of.
