Chapter Eighteen

Tovi’s POV

When my mother told me that my father was standing in front of me, I gasped. I never thought that I would ever meet him. I could feel the tears forming in my eyes, as I was happy that I finally got to meet him face to face. He was tall, with the same chestnut, auburn hair, and green eyes as I have. I walked slowly up to him, taking his features in. The same hair, same eye color, same eye and nose shape, the same lips, I look just like my father. I thought I was dreaming. Father looked adoringly at me, with a smile on his face and tears in his eyes. I was speechless and did not know what to say to him. He opened his arms and said, “Come here little one. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time!” I ran into his arms, embraced in his arms, and started to cry. I am finally complete! I know exactly who I am now. I am a daughter of an Alpha, and one of the most powerful ones in the country, next to Greg, of course. I felt him rub my back, trying to soothe me. “It is ok little one. You are where you belong now. Your life is now complete,” he said gently, trying to calm me down.

After crying for a few minutes, I pulled back and looked at my father. Now I know why mother fell in love with him. But I have many questions about my past and why he never tried to see me when I was growing up and never protected me from Paul’s abuse.

“I know you have a lot of questions, child,” he said. “But let me get settled in and then we will talk. Could we meet out on the patio in an hour? I would love to talk to you about my absence.

”

“Yes, we can do that,” I squeaked out. “I can have Mrs. Smith arrange some snacks and drinks

for us since you just got here.” He nodded his head and handed me to Greg since I would need

him to calm down from this emotional overdrive I was experiencing. Greg pulled me into his

arms, holding me while I took in his scent, calming myself down.

“I know you are confused about why he was never around, Tovi,” Winter said. “He did it to

protect you from your grandfather. Your grandfather was a dangerous man when he was an

Alpha, and still is with his connections. I can tell that it hurt your father not being around

when you were growing up. Please forgive him. He only did it to protect you.”

I agreed with Winter, knowing that he did that to protect me from someone evil and selfish. Greg asked if I was all right. I shook my head yes. He held me until I was calm and let go of

me when I pulled back.

“Could you and mother set up a spot for the four of us in the garden and I will get us some

snacks and drinks while we all talk?” I asked him.

“We can do that, sweetheart. I know the perfect spot, too,” my mother answered.

I thanked her and gave Greg a lingering kiss, telling him that he was the best mate that I could ask for, and ran to the kitchen. It took Mrs. Smith, Katie, Sarah, and me about forty–five minutes to get everything ready. Sandwiches, veggies, fruit, cheese, crackers, and water were brought out to the garden and placed on the table that mother and Greg set up. Father came out a couple of minutes later, freshly showered and wearing shorts and a T–shirt. I chuckled, we have the same taste in clothes.

We all sat down around the table, Greg pulling me into his lap, to keep me close and calm. Father took a deep breath, placed my hand in his, and looked me in the eyes.

“I know that you had a bad childhood growing up. If I could, I would have come and brought you home to Ocean Bay. But you would have been in harm’s way being there. Your grandfather wanted you dead because he didn’t think that you would have extraordinary Alpha bloodlines in you. He only believes that the strongest Alphas should mate and produce strong pups. He was so wrong. I see the strength within you, and you will be a force to reckon with. Whoever messes with you now that you have your wolf will be sorry. Let me guess, your wolf is all white?” he asked me. I gasped, how did he know? He chuckled at my response. “Just as I thought,” he continued. “In my family, for the last five hundred years, only the strongest will be blessed with a white wolf. Not only are you strong physically, but you will have special, strong powers that you will need help to control and know how to use them. You will not get them until you are mated and marked to a powerful Alpha, which you are to Greg. His bloodlines are the same as ours in his family, but they have a black wolf.”

I looked at Greg, “Is this true?” I asked him.

“Yes, my beautiful mate, it is true,” he replied, kissing me on the forehead. “But I am not going to force you to mate and mark with me right away. I want you to be comfortable with me and trust me before we do. I don’t want to traumatize you and make sure that you are happy and content, mentally and physically.”

I was happy with his answer, and I looked at my father. “You can continue, father,” I smiled at him.

“As I said, you get your powers after you are marked and mated. You would have to go to the witch coven near my pack to get the training to control and use them properly. Without the training, you could become extremely dangerous and unpredictable, especially in the wrong hands. That is why your grandfather wanted to kill you. You were conceived on a full moon and that is when we have a white wolf born into the family. He wanted to protect the supernatural world. Greg’s family gets the black wolf when the child is conceived on a new moon. So, Greg is your second half and you two will be extremely powerful and can destroy

the demons that want to kill off the supernatural and take over the world. You two are what

will save us all.”

I could not believe it; I was not only going to be strong but also powerful with special powers. I stood up, and walked to the edge of the patio, looking at the flowers that are in full bloom in this late Colorado spring. Greg walked up behind me, placed his arms around me, and nuzzled

my neck.

“I know it is a lot to take in right now, but you will understand once you get your powers and

learn to use them correctly,” he whispered in my ear. “I felt the same way when I found out. I have not gotten my powers yet, because I have been waiting for you. I am the strongest wolf

out there and with the two of us, we can make sure that the supernatural world lives in

harmony with each other.”

I turned around and looked at him. “Can we both do that? Without losing ourselves in the

power and not hurting anyone?” I asked him.

“That is why you two were mated together. You two will balance your powers well together

and keep each other in balance and help defeat the evil that will show up,” my father answered

me. “We are about due for another war soon with the demons. Every 150 years, all

supernatural creatures come together to help defeat them. Each species has a power couple

like the two of you. When werewolves, witches, elves, werebears, vampires, and warlocks

combine their powers, we defeat the demons,” my father kept on explaining about our powers.

“But lately, there have been hits on other couples that have already been mated, being one.

Luckily, they have survived each attack. You two will be the last mated power couple, and we have about five years to get you trained.”

I was getting overwhelmed with all the latest information that my father was feeding me. I pulled myself out of Greg’s arms, walked to the tree line, and shifted to Winter. I took off

towards the cave, wanting some time alone to process everything.

I mind–linked mother, to tell Greg and father that I just needed a few minutes by myself and I

would be back in a half hour. She said ok. We ran through the forest, taking in the smell of dirt,

and enjoying the rustling of leaves under our paws. We get to the cave, which is hidden behind

a bunch of bushes and ivy. I walked through in my wolf form and walked over to where we

kept extra clothes. I shifted and slipped on some shorts and a T–shirt, and sat down on the

rock next to a small pond there.

“Can we do what father told me?” I asked Winter.

“Yes, we can,” she said. “We are very strong, and we have more special powers than all the

other supernatural couples. We are the main source of power, everyone else will balance us

out so we don’t get tired and weak too fast.”

“I am afraid that I won’t be able to control my powers and become too dangerous for everyone, ‘I sighed.

“That is why we go to the witch coven in California and learn to control our powers. Mate will be there with us, too,” she said.

I sat there until dusk. I took the clothes off and placed them back into the box, shifted into Winter, and left the cave, heading back to the packhouse. I mind–linked Angelica to bring out some clothes when I was halfway back. When I got to the tree line, she was standing there with a pair of shorts and a tank top. I shifted back to myself and got dressed. When I walked around the tree, Greg was standing there, with his arms open. I ran into them and felt them wrap around me. I inhaled his scent a few times before I was ready to go in. He picked me up bridal style, making me scream, and making him and Angelica laugh at me. Assholes.
