Chapter Eleven
We discussed dealing with the rogues and setting up plans to manage their attacks. Zane has
a rigorous training schedule for his members. Everyone of different status, from the Omegas
to high–ranking members, has different training schedules.
The meeting lasted only for two hours and, in the end, we were both happy with the
arrangements we had produced. I will be sending one hundred warriors to help patrol around
the border. I went through the security protocols and found a couple of flaws. I updated their software, placed an order to replace broken cameras, installed new cameras in various locations, and installed sensors throughout the packhouse. Everything will be here in a couple
of days and my team will go through and install everything.
“Thank you for your help, Greg,” Zane said gratefully as we shook hands. “This will put an ease
of mind for me, knowing that my pack will be better protected. Luna will have dinner ready for
us at seven. It is casual, so no need to dress up.”
“You’re welcome, Zane, I happily said. “I cannot wait to finally meet my mate.” Zane smiled
and walked out of the room.
I went up to my room to get ready for dinner. Luna had someone come into my room and
clean Chelsea’s scent off my bed and chair. Thank you, Luna. I did not want my mate to get
upset with me for having an uninvited she wolf in my room. It was five now, so I shaved the
sides of my head, trimmed my goatee, and put on a fresh outfit. At 6:45, I met up with Jack
and Jason, and we headed to the main dining room.
As soon as we walked in, her scent enveloped me and drove me crazy. Deacon yelled, “MATE
IS HERE! GO MARK HER NOW!”
“No Deacon, we need to wait. She has had a rough life, and I will not traumatize her because
you want to mate with her right now. Let’s talk to her first and see how things go,” I explained
to Deacon.
“Fine,” he said grumpily.
Tovi’s POV

Luna told me to be in the main dining room at 6:30 for dinner and to wear something nice. I
did not think there was a special occasion happening unless they wanted to celebrate Alpha’s
meeting earlier.
So, I put on a long, burgundy maxi dress, and white raffia sandal wedges, and left my hair
down with little make–up. I made my way down, meeting Caitlin in the dining room. I walked in,

and she ran up and hugged me. As soon as we released each other, I smelt an intoxicating
smell of rain and pine. Winter started howling, running in my mind.
“Our mate is here!” Winter howled, wanting to come out and find our mate.
“Where is he?” I asked her.
Suddenly, I heard “MATE!” and I turned around. I was looking at a god. He had long, blonde
hair, pulled into a man bun, with the sides shaved, a sexy ass goatee, dark blue eyes that I could get lost looking in all day, tattoos all over his arms and on his neck, muscles all over like
he works out all the time, and he is taller than me, standing at 6’5“. Why did the Moon
Goddess bless me with such a handsome man like him?
He was like a magnet, I was so drawn to him. I started walking towards him, staring into his eyes. When I got to him, I reached up and gently touched his face.
“Hello, mate. What is your name?” I asked him.
“I am Greg, and I’m the Alpha at Mountain Moon Pack,” he introduced himself. “And you are,
my mate?” Oh, my Goddess, an ALPHA! Why did the Goddess bless me with an Alpha mate?
And a sexy one, too.
“I’m Tovi Robinson, a member here,” I explained. He smiled at me, put his arm around my
waist, and pulled me close to him, placing his face near my marking spot between my neck and shoulder to calm himself. His scent is intoxicating and addictive. I could stand there all
night and take him in. But I have reservations about having a mate. Will he treat me well, or will he be like my stepfather, and abuse me for anything that would make him upset? I am self–conscious about the scars on my back from years of punishment that I received from
Paul.
“You are gorgeous, mate,” Greg told me, with love in his eyes. “I have been waiting for you for a while. I am so excited to share my life and pack with you. I will love and spoil you with lots of love, attention, and gifts. I want you to be happy and content being my mate.” He looked me in the eyes while he said this. I saw nothing but honesty and truth in them. But I was still apprehensive about having a mate. Do I trust him or give in to the mate bond and love him unconditionally? Will I be a good Luna to his pack, or will I fail as one? I am so confused right
now.
“Tovi, are you ok?” he asked me. I guess I had the look of fear on my face, fear of getting hurt,
fear of failure, fear of not being good enough.
“I am scared, that is all,” I explained to him. “My life before a week ago was not the best. I am afraid that the cycle will continue.” I started to tremble with the expectation of being used and
abused as I have been used to my whole life.

“He is nothing like Paul,” Winter explained. “I have been talking to his wolf, Deacon, and your mate is a good man with a huge heart. Let him love you and take care of you.”
“I am just scared of getting hurt,” I said.
“The only way you will find out what kind of mate he truly is is to give into the mate bond and let him love you,” she caringly said.
Luna saw the look on my face and came up to us. “Why don’t you two sit down and eat? Then afterward, you two can go to your room and talk.” She was trying to calm me down.
“Sounds like a good idea,” Greg said, guiding me to the table, pulled my chair out, and helped me sit down at the table. Everyone joined us at the table. As soon as everyone sat down, the Omegas brought out our food. Luna ordered some comfort food for tonight. Mrs. Smith’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, steamed mixed vegetables, and apple crisp for dessert. We sat there and talked about ourselves, what we like, what is our favorites. I met his Beta, Jack, who is his cousin, and his Gamma, Jason. I was having a wonderful time with the three of them, laughing at the stories that Jack and Jason would tell me about Greg. My poor mate, his face stayed red in embarrassment the whole time. It was so adorable. He sat
there, with my hand in his the whole time, not wanting to let me go.
Finally, after a couple of hours, we got done eating, said good night to everyone, and headed up to my room so we could talk to each other privately. I am nervous about the marking and mating, not sure if I am ready for that yet. I have never really experienced a gentle hand most
of my life. Mostly, I am used to being abused by my stepfather, but my mother never allowed
to do anything to stop him. We climbed the five floors of stairs and walked down the hallway
to my room in silence.
“Here we are,” I said, opening the door. He smiled and followed me into the room. Luna must
have had the Omegas brought up snacks and drinks while we were at dinner. I was so nervous that I was getting nervous. Sensing my nervousness, Greg grabbed both my hands and looked
gently at me.
“I know about your past, and why you are so nervous,” he explained to me. I was shocked that he knew about my past. “I will make a promise right now, I will never hurt you like the way you were hurt by your stepfather. I will love you forever, regardless of your flaws. You are my mate, and I want to make sure that you are happy and well taken care of.”
