I sat motionless on the chair, watching as the brothers paired their eyes at me in concer

“Are you okay. Alpha Derek asked first, drawing closer to me.

I chuckled blankly. Would he still show such concern after he finds out 1 killed his mate? Definitely not.

“Did you bring what I asked for?” I asked directly and he nodded, showing me the medical box.

“Are you hurt?” Ryker questioned, sitting beside me.

“What do you think?” I arched a brow with a quizzical look. I thought the evidence was clear from my bloody shirt, but Ryker was being stupid as always

Derek opened the box, placing it on the table beside me. I knew they were both curious about what happened. I had informed them I was leaving to the North council to retrieve Aurora yesterday, and today I was covered in my own blood with no sign of Aurora around.

“I see it didn’t go well” Ryker remarked with pursed lips.

“It went absolute fine, why else would I be injured?” I responded with a hollow laugh.

Derek stayed silent, carefully tending to the bruise my face. My healing abilities had reduced greatly which was why I hadn’t healed yet.

“Who wounded you like this?” Ryker questioned, pressing the wound on my abdomen as though to confirm I wasn’t pranking on them.

Thissed in pain, shooting him a cold stare. “But why aren’t you healing?” Derek thought out loud in a low tone.

“It doesn’t seem to be infected.” He added, shaking his head dismissively as he raised my shirt to look at the ugly wound there.

“Just stick to your duty and stop asking questions.” I snapped, shutting my eyes in pain when he started cleaning up the wound without warning.

“How about Aurora: Did you bring her back?” Ryker asked eagerly, and I could hear Derek’s heart skip a beat in fear. I had threatened to end his life if anything happens to Aurora, but it seemned I was the one to be threatened now. The irony, right?

I sighed, rubbing my forehead as I tried to form the words I had to say to Derck

“Can you stop stalling and tell us what happened already?” Ryker snapped in frustration when I remained silent

I flickered my eyes to him, giving him a pointed look. “You’re becoming a little too bold of lately” I remarked with a smile that didn’t reach my eyes

“We are friends, Kaiden.” He pointed out.

I hummed a response before saying, “I did see Aurora” I drawled out, catching my breath. “I brought her back home with me, but she left me.” Lended curtly.

“That’s it?” They both shrieked staring at me in confusion.

“He let us go after forcing Aurora to kill some servants.” I said dismissively.

“Just like that?” Ryker pestered and I nodded.

“And Aurora Why did she leave?” Derek asked in a low tone. I forgot he had no idea why Aurora had ran off neither did he know his mate had been the one to capture her

“Because she discovered the sort of monster Lam.” I responded sharply, gritting my teeth.

“What sort of monster?” Derek’s face curved in confusion.

“Just let it be, Derek Ryker warned, staring at me with a pitiful look.

“Let him ask further. I countered his words, with a sinister smile.

“I killed Atrora’s mother.” Lconfessed, with a bitter smile on my face.

Derek opened his mouth several times to say something, but nothing came out. He hung his head low in guilt that irritated

“Ohh, you need not be sorry.” I said sarcastically with an underlying meaning.

“That wasn’t the only reason she left.” 1 added with a knowing look on my face

“What other reasons are there?” Ryker interjected in confusion.

“She found out I used Layla as bait which led to her father’s death.” I announced watching Derek’s expression which remained neutral. He already knew that

“But that’s still not all.” I chuckled cruelly. “I killed Layla and she got pissed.” I said casually, shrugging off my shoulders.

The room turned pin drop silent with tension. I leaned into the couch, waiting for Derek’s reaction which would clearly be negative.

“You what?” Derek stuttered out, his eyes meeting mine in shock.

“I killed your…” I didn’t finish my sentence when I felt a punch on my face.

“Derek, calm down.” Ryker screamed pulling him away from me. I laughed bitterly, wiping off the blood from my lips.

“Come on, Attack me!” I challenged the angry Derek. I needed some sort of pain to ease the emptiness I felt inside me.

“Shut up, Kaiden” Ryker snapped, turning to face me before looking at Derek

“Don’t tell me to calm down. He killed Layla and he isn’t showing any remorse for it!” Derek spat out angrily, pushing Ryker away from him…

“Why should I should remorse?” I shrugged with a blank expression. “She was going to kill Aurora if I hadn’t taken her life.

“It’s always about Aurora!” He chuckled binerly, “Layla wouldn’t try to kill Aurora without any reason.

“That’s where you are wrong” I informed, “She found out I used her as bait for Aurora and she wanted revenge for causing
