Tears rolled down my chin as I walked through the eerily cold night without a sense of direction All I knew was that I needed to get away from Kaiden.

Why had I been so blind to the glaring tenth that stared at me? The resemblance was so obvious to the same monster that

Kaiden had been the person I was looking for all this years. My heart bleed with the truth that I wasn’t ready to accept. All those years of trauma, the nightmares and even the guilt I felt over the years about my mom’s death were all caused by him

Why did it have to be Kaiden? Is this a little too much for me to accept? I had accepted everything about him but this it was

too much for me.

Was the moon goddess trying to test my limits? What sort of sick game was the playing with me?

I was stupid to believe that I had let go of everything because I hadn’t. I felt like a dagger was twisted into my heart.

“Is this why you didn’t want to talk about your murderer?” I choked out, with a bitter smile.

“I feel so stupid mom. I had been with the enemy all this while and I never even sensed anything off.” I said with guilt filling my heart.

I didn’t know how long I have been walking for but I found myself at Layla’s place. I swallowed hard, drying off my tears with the back of my hand before knocking on the door.

“Rory” Layla said in surprise, opening the door wide open.

“Layla” 1 sobbed, wrapping my arms as I let out the tears I was trying so hard to hide. Layla stumbled back before rubbing my back soothingly.

“What’s wrong, Rory?” She asked in concern, but I didn’t respond. How was I supposed to tell her that Kaiden was responsible for my mother’s brutal murder?

I pulled back, walking into the room silently without any word. I sat on the couch quietly ignoring her stare.

“What’s wrong, Rory?” She repeated again, her face crinkling in concern.

“I’m fine.” I waved off with a small smile on my face.

“No, you are not fine. You don’t just show up at my house at night, burst into tears and claim you are fine.” She stated. shaking her head.

“So you want me out of your house?” I shot back using emotional blackmail on her.

“That is not what I meant. She defended with irritation etching on her face. “Did something happen between you and Mr Thane again?” She creased her eyebrow in question.

“Why do you always assume he’s responsible for everything that goes wrong with me?” I asked back with a gloomy look.

“Then who should I assume made you cry, huh?” She shot back and I couldn’t help but chuckle.

She was right about Kaiden causing my pain, no else could cause me this much pain right now except him.

“Did he cheat on you with his ex girlfriend?” She guessed, her fist clenching together.

I halted in my tracks when two men suddenly blocked my path. I stared at them in fear as the played with the knives in their hands.

“You’re Aurora, right?” One of the hefty looking man asked with a cruel smile on his face. They took a slow step closer to me and I moved backward till I hit a surface, more like a hard body.

My blood stilled as I realized the situation I was in. My efforts to turn around and look at the person behind me were futile when I felt a hand hit my neck hard. My eyes turn dizzy as I lost my balance and fell to the ground.

“Alpha Magnus will be delighted to see you.” I heard a voice say, but I couldn’t see anyone with my blurry vision.

I heard footsteps approach me before I felt a finger brushing the side of my face which undoubtedly belonged to a woman. “I’m sorry it had to get this, Rory.” A voice whispered softly. A voice a knew too well…Layla?
