My dad hated being interrupted when speaking. He always believed he had the upper hand in my affairs, but that wasn’t the case anymore. They couldn’t do harm me again.

My eyes widened when he extended his claws without a care on the horrific look on their faces.

What if my family had no idea about any supernatural being? How was he planning on covering up the secret he just shared with them?

My dad eyes rounded in shock, and something else I couldn’t quite place my finger on. Like he had an idea about what was going on with me, but 1 couldn’t tell.

My dad and Evan backed away, clinging to the couch like it were their second life. They looked powerless right now and I couldn’t help but bear in joy. I didn’t know if I somehow inherited Kaiden’s predatory behavior, but it felt good seeing them scurry away in fear.

Same fear they had input in me each time they returned home.

“Descendant of the moon goddess?” I echoed in surprise, glancing at Kaiden but he was too engrossed in the topic to notice

“Yes, She said their powers were passed down from generation to generations to the first girl child and mentioned how she passed it down to you too.” He responded, shocking us all with his revelation, including Evan who’s mouth was agape

“Then why are the signs only showing now? Why didn’t I feel anything for years till now?” I asked in suspicion.

“Your mother and grandmother had said something about your powers lying with your soulmate so I’m guessing you met him.” He responded, nodding to Kaiden.

It all made sense to me now. I mean things started becoming strange after I met him and had sex with him.

“That explains the silver hair.” Kaiden thought out loud, clicking his teeth.

“What does my silver hair has to do with anything?” My face etched in confusion.

“Moon goddesses have silver hair so I guess it wasn’t strange for her descendant to inherit such features.” He explained. massaging the side of his face,

I nodded, my head swelling with the information I was still trying to process.

“What exactly are her strengths?” Kaiden demanded with a straight face.

“As I said, I don’t know much about it. Aurora’s mother said something about bringing good fortune to the people around them, but I didn’t believe her.” He scoffed.

“She claimed you were the next in line and will bring good fortune but it didn’t happen. You caused her death instead.” He groaned angrily, finally revealing his true self.

“I held unto that hope for years. It was why I didn’t throw you out.” He said bitterly, “But years went by and nothing changed. if anything things got worst for us.”

“What did mom ever see in someone like you?” I thought out bitterly, staring at my dad in disgust.

If my mom was truly the descendant of the moon goddess, shouldn’t she have seen through him?
