Aurora

“You’ve been asleep for too lo

for too long, love,” I heard from my subconscious, the voice way too familiar.

I opened my mouth to respond, but my throat felt so patched. My eyes felt so heavy to open no matter how hard I try to “Wake up, Aurora.” I heard in a soft tone, yet there was an underlying command in the voice.

Slowly, My eyes adjusted to the light. I felt so weak yet so strong. I arched my neck to the side, my eyes falling on Kaiden sitting stiffly on a chair beside me with his eyes shut.

“Please wake up, love.” The voice from earlier–Kaiden’s spoke again. My eyes crinkled in confusion. He was asleep so it couldn’t possibly be him right?

Then why did it sound so much like him?

I pushed aside the unease, staring past him and noticed the old plaster walls. It was an unfamiliar room, yet it smelled of him which meant it was his room.

I choked on my words from the feeling of dryness. I slowly lifted my hand to the wound on my neck but found nothing.

Did Raiden heal me?

“Aurora?” I shut my eyes, tugging on my hair to stop the voice in my head. It seems I lost my sanity from Kaiden’s bite.

“Stop messing with my head, please.” I thought in frustration.

“I’m not messing with you, love.” Kaiden said softly, but I shook my head in denial.

“I’m so happy you’re awake, love.” I felt a hand caressing my face softly causing me to flutter my eyes.

He helped me to sit up from the bed, resting my body on the headboard.

“Water.” I managed to say with a croaky voice. He poured me a glass of water from the jug on the nightstand. I took the water from him and gulped it down in one go.

“Thank you.” I said in a low tone, feeling refreshed. He smiled at me, taking the glass and dropping it on the table.

“How long have I been out?” I asked curiously.

Chapter 74

He pursed his lips on the air, “Four days now” He informed and I nodded, looking around the room.

“Is this your room?” I asked for confirmation…

He nodded, “Yes, it is love. My room in the pack house” He explained.

So this was the pack house huh?

I scrunched my face, remembering something he had just mentioned. “You said we were mated now and you can hear my thoughts, right?”

“That’s what I said.” He confirmed with a hint of sarcasm.

“Earlier on, I heard voices in my head which obviously belonged to you, but you were asleep” I explained, “I thought I was losing my mind. It sounded so real” I admitted, gazing into his eyes.

“You heard my thoughts?” He had pure shock on his face.

“I don’t know if it was your thoughts but they were in my head and-” He cut me off sharply

“Those are my thoughts, Aurora.” He said firmly with a little something else in his eyes

“You’re not supposed to hear my thoughts, love.” He added in a low tone. “Humans can’t hear our thoughts.”

“What are you saying, Kaiden?” I questioned, a little scared of his response.

“You’re not human, Aurora. You can’t be.” He declared, pursing his lips in deep thoughts.

“Not this again.” I groaned, shaking my head in disapproval

“I killed all my mates during the bonding process, yet you happened to survive it.” He stated, and I couldn’t help but think about the odds. “Does that sound human to you?” He asked mockingly.

“Maybe a miracle happened?” I offered, my heart pounding against my chest as I thought about what this meant for me.

He muttered something under his breath, shutting his eyes and exhaling sharply as though to suppress his anger.

He blinked his eyes open, forcing a smile on his face, “What else did you notice?” He demanded.

“I feel strong, like I can do everything I confessed, my face creasing at the absurdity.

I was weak right from birth, there was no way I could suddenly become so strong just because I’m mated to werewolf.

Kaiden didn’t respond, instead he stared at me trying to figure out something.

He stood to his feet and for a second, I thought I had pissed him off again until I saw him walking towards his wardrobe. He walked back to me with clothes which were obviously his

Sitting at the edge of the bed, he reached for my nightgown. “What are you doing?” I said, my voice high pitched as I held the cloth to my body.

He raised his eyes in question, “I’ve seen you naked before, love.” He began, pushing my hand away. “And I’ve! you, so what exactly are you hiding?” He asked in amusement, the corners of his lips lifting up.

He was right, but it’s different now. I had been mentally prepared for him at that time.

“There’s nothing different about it, love.” He responded, pulling the gown over my head.

Right, I totally forgot he could read my thoughts now.

Chapter 74

He stared at my body with an unreadable expression that made me stared down in self consciousness. My eyes rounded in shock at what 1 found.

It was all gone, the scars on my body had vanished like it never happened before

“Where did they all go?” I asked thetorically in disbelief.

“Do you trust me?” Kaiden asked, holding my eyes in place, and I nodded feeling so overwhelmed to respond.

He grabbed my hand, extending his sharp claws. He glanced at me before digging his claws into my flesh

“Now try to heal yourself.” He ordered.

I stared at him like he was crazy. “What do you mean by try to heal myself? How am I supposed to do that?” I snapped, my head spinning from the thousand thoughts in my head.

“I don’t know, love. Maybe speak healing to it and it may probably work.” He instructed with a shrug

I shot him a glare. I didn’t believe any of his words, but still gave it a try regardless. I focused on the wound which stung. willing myself to heal as he instructed, but nothing happened.

“It’s not working.” I sighed, giving up on the thought. “I told you I’m-” I cut myself off when pain on my hand lessen and the wound started closing up.

The color drained from my face, staring with wide eyes as the wound vanished completely from my hand. I breathed heavily in fear, touching the spot to confirm my eyes were not playing tricks on me.

“Still think you’re normal?” Kaiden questioned in a knowing tone.
