“What early do you want, Derek He growled angrily, “You complained I was ignoring you and now that I’mo not, you’re still making a fuss it?” He asked with a tour expression.
“Maybe I want my brother fuck completely.” I shot back, unfazed by his anger. If I hadn’t wet my pants from Kaiden’s scary outburst, then I could tolerate anyone.

“I know I mumbled a response, pouring a drink for myself. “So you know who Aurora is too?” I asked, raising the glass to my lips.
His eyes dilated, giving me a lopsided smile, “Who do you think she is?” He asked back in a straight face.
“I wouldn’t have asked if I had an idea I retorted, placing down the glass after taking a large gulp.
“Then how did you know of a person called Aurora?” He asked in a serious tone.
“Because Layla called the name and she seemed important to alpha.” I informed, thinking back to his reaction when her name was mentioned
He bummed in response and I could tell he had an idea who she was, maybe even met her before.
“So who’s she?” I pestered, refusing to let go of the matter. Layla was attacked because she was mistaken for this girl- Aurora, and which means she was ‘Alpha Kaiden’s woman‘ those wolves talked about.
“Why are you asking me, Derek?” He shot back, “You should have asked Kaiden.”
I chuckled in response, “Ask alpha Kaiden?” I repeated, grimacing at the thought. “He’ll have my head if I question him.”

We glanced at each other before bursting into laughter.
“You’re so annoying,” he said playfully, rising from the chair. “I’m happy you found your mate.” he added in a soft tone.
“Thank you, I guess,” I whispered in an even tone, watching him disappear to Kaiden’s office. It was nice talking to him like this but I knew he would be back to his aloof self by tomorrow,
My phone dinged, drawing me from my thoughts. I pulled out the phone from my pocket, smiling when I saw the message from Layla. She agreed to meet up with me tonight.
I planned to take things slow and this was the first step to doing so.
“You came.” I said with a smile as Layla walked into the restaurant.
She gave me a apologetic smile, pulling the chair to sit. “Sorry I came late.”
“Ohh it’s fine, Layla” I shook my head, waving it off.
“You look beautiful.” I complimented, gawking at her. Seems I wasn’t the only one who put in an extra effort to look good.
Her cheeks turned crimson red. “Thank you, Derek. You look handsome.” She said with a cheeky grin.
We fell into silence, my eyes burning into her body as I desperately tried to resist the urge of kissing her glossy lips.
“Derek?” She called out and I hummed in response, blinking away my lustrous thoughts.
“Sorry, What would you like?” I asked softly, catching the attention of the waiter. He jotted down our orders before hurrying off to get them.
“So how are the funeral preparations going?” I asked thoughtfully.
“It’s been rather stressful. She confessed with a tired sigh. I nodded, brushing my hands on hers, thankful that she didn’t flinch away
“I’m sorry for your loss.” I said sincerely.
I learned her father passed away a couple of days before I met her, and I couldn’t help but feel it was connected to Aurora
“It’s alright. Aurora has been quite helpful in keeping my mind busy.” she admitted,
“Aurora must be your best friend” I remarked casually, but my curiosity was getting the better part of me.
“Yes, she is. I’m a little surprised you both don’t know each other.” she said, crinkling her nose.
“Why?” I asked in confusion.
“Because you’re Mr Thane’s friend and probably visited his house once or twice. You would have probably seen her there.” she explained.
My brows drew together. Alpha Kaiden was living with her? That explained his continuous absence from the pack house.

Of course, Ryker knew about this. Well, I guess it was understandable why Alpha Kaiden hid her so well from everyone. She was human, and he was a cursed Alpha with many enemies. She would probably have a hard time blending in, especially becoming the Luna. Our park would likely frown upon it.
I didn’t know whether to be happy that my mate was involved with Alpha Kaiden’s mate, but I certainly didn’t feel good about it.
