Kaiden

“Can’t come with you today?” Aurora called from the kitchen as I waited for her to pack my breakfast. insistent, leaving me with little room to refuse

“No. You can’t follow me to work.” I said firmly. “A clubs isn’t a place for a girl like you”

She groaned in frustration. “I get so lonely at home”

I raised a brow, glancing at her. “You’ve always been lonely at home”

“Yes, but…” She hesitated, her voice growing softer. “The house feels scarier since-

“Since you were kidnapped,” I finished for her, my expression darkening

She nodded, avoiding my gaze.

“Do you want us to move out?” I asked, watching her closely.

She walked into the living room with the food container, placing it on the table before collapsing onto my lap. “Move out? I doubt the house lease is expired.”

“It doesn’t matter, love. If you don’t feel safe, we’ll leave.” I wrapped an arm around her waist, but she shifted against me. squirming on my thigh.

“Aurora,” I warned, feeling myself harden at the friction.

“Oops,” she murmured innocently, a sly smile playing on her lips.

I leaned in, my voice dropping. “You’re getting a little too naughty, love. But don’t worry, one day, I’ll give you exactly what you want.”

That day, however, felt impossibly far away, no it would probably never come.

“When will that day come, Kaiden?” she whined, pouting. “I really want you.”

I had spent last night lying to her, telling her I had erectile dysfunction, an excuse to explain why I kept pulling away. She hadn’t fully believed me, but it had at least pacified her.

I smiled, pressing a soft kiss to her lips before setting her down on the couch. “Don’t miss me too much.” I picked up the lunch box from the table.

She frowned. “Is Ariel going to be there?”

Jealousy flashed in her eyes, making me smirk.

“I only love eyes for you, Aurora. Ariel was never anything to me.”

Her expression lit up instantly. “Really?”

“Good.” She blinked up at me, puckering her lips.

Shaking my head. I leaned down and kissed her deeply.

“Now you can go,” she said, pushing me away playfully.

I shook my head with a smile, turning toward the door.

As I arrived at the pack house, I strolled down the hall, my steps slowing when my eyes landed on Ariel walking out of Ryker’s room

“Oh–hi. Kaiden.” Ariel greeted nervously, her voice uncertain.

I stared straight into her soul. She reeked of sex, it wasn’t hard to put two together. And right on cue. Ryker pulled open the door, pausing when he saw me standing nearby.

“You’re here,” he remarked evenly, his expression unreadable.

Unlike him, Ariel looked guilty–as if she’d committed some crime I couldn’t care less about.

“You’re screwing her?” I asked, though it was more of a confirmation than a question

Ariel, shameless as ever, strolled towards me. “I had to get it somewhere since you refuse to give in to me.” She reached for my hand, her delusion almost laughable.

I glared at her and shoved her away. She stumbled, eyes widening

“I warned you never to touch me again, didn’t I?” My voice was low, dangerous.

She flinched.

“I don’t give a damn what you do with your life,” I continued coldly. “Just stay the hell out of my way.”

1 glanced at Ryker, and for a split second, something flickered in his eyes–something almost like affection for Ariel. But it disappeared as quick as it came.

Shoving past them, 1 headed toward the pack’s hospital. Ryker fell into step behind me, his presence an unwelcome shadow I could already tell he wanted to explain himself, but I couldn’t have cared less

“Alpha–he started.

“I don’t care about your personal life, Ryker,” I cut him off sharply. “Or what you do with Ariel. If anything, you’re doing me a favor by keeping her occupied.”

“It’s just casual sex,” he defended.

1 shrugged. “I figured. Just make sure she stays focused on you and leave me alone.”

Ryker let out a frustrated sigh. “We both know that won’t happen because I don’t want her. She still thinks she owns you?

Chapter 19

His footsteps faded as I turned my gaze to the defibrillator nearby. My lips curled slightly as I reached for the paddles, setting the machine to its highest voltage.

“If you won’t wake up on your own. I’ll just have to force you, I murmured.

Pressing the paddles hard against Owen’s chest, I triggered the shock. His body jolted violently, muscles locking up as electricity surged through him. 

Then, with a sharp gasp, his eyes snapped open. A wet, choking sound escaped his throat as he

coughed up blood.

“Good to see you’re awake.” I muttered, tossing the paddles aside with a smirk that never reached my eyes.

Owen’s gaze darted to mine, wide with pure terror. His entire body trembled as he tried to speak, blood bubbling at his lips.

“You..” His voice was weak, shaking. He pointed a trembling finger at me, horror etched into his features.

“What? Did you think you’d never see me again?” I mocked, my voice cold. He was dying slowly, the electricity I had sent through his body speeding it up.

“Why won

won’t you just let me die?” he groaned, his voice weak and filled with frustration.

I chuckled, digging my claws into his throat, watching as the light faded from his eyes. “Would you have let me die peacefully if our roles were switched?” I asked. He didn’t answer–he couldn’t. I was choking him.

Slowly, I pulled my claws away, and blood poured from the deep wounds in his neck. His eyes begged me to finish him off. But where was the fun in that?

Grinning, I grabbed his balls, making him gasp in pain. “Remember me in hell,” I whispered, squeezing harder. He couldn’t even scream properly.

Satished with his suffering, I let go and stepped back. I watched him struggle, enjoying every second before turning to leave.
