Owen laughed before signaling his men to attack. They rushed at me with daggers. I dodged most of them, but one managed to cut my arm. I was holding back I didn’t want Aurora to see my true self just yet neither did I want it to get bloody. These men, however, were trained to light.

“Oh, come on,” Owen mocked, watching me dodge their blows. “This is sad. I wanted Aurora to see what you really are, but you’re disappointing me.”

He walked toward the bed where Aurora lay.

“Get away from her, you bastard!” I roared, trying to stop him, but another one of his men slashed my back, and another cut my leg.

Pain burned through me as I realized the daggers were covered in wolfsbane. My strength faded slightly, and I dropped to my knees, gritting my teeth against the sting.

“Kaiden!” Aurora screamed, trying to run to me, but Owen shoved her back onto the bed before she could reach me.

“Worry about yourself, Aurora,” he muttered, parting her legs.

Something inside me snapped. I punched one of the men in the face, ripped the knife from his hand, and stabbed it into his stomach.

I stared at the other two with rage in my eyes, as they backed away with slight fear. One of them lunged for me, aiming for my stomach, but I knocked him out.

The other one attempted to run off, but I definitely would let him. I grabbed the knife and threw it at his back. He hissed in pain before falling to the ground.

Then I turned to Owen who was about undressing her yet again. I tackled him, throwing him off Aurora before he could touch her any further. She wrapped her arms around my body, sobbing softly as I held her close, stroking her hair.

Owen smirked, getting up from the floor. “Who would’ve thought? The great Alpha Kaiden, actually caring about someone other than himself.

He brought out a gun from his waistband, staring at me with a smirk.

“I came prepared, Alpha,” he said smugly, pointing it at me.

Aurora gasped and clung to me even tighter. I took a deep breath before gently knocking her unconscious. Laying her on the bed, I turned back to Owen.
