Kaiden
”
1 watched Aurora with a smile tugging on my lips as she rested her head on my laps, feeding me chips. I had decided to go all our for her, pushing my fears of attacking her away and it had surprisingly been going well–1 had more control than I gave myself credit for.
However my decision also stemmed from Owen advances at her and her declaration of love for him. I was staying very close to ensure they all stayed away from her, not letting her out of my sight even for minute.
“Are you even listening to me, Kailen?” She asked with a pout, as she shoved some chips into her mouth.
“Yes I am, love I urged softly, twirling her hair in my index. She was telling me stories from her childhood, the memorable
“What was the last thing I said then?” She asked raising her eyebrow. The truth was I wasn’t listening, I was too drawn to her face to have heard a word.
My wound had been completely healed, but I still wore the bandage, and even still acted injured so she wouldn’t suspect. It had barely been a week and it would rather be suspicious to heal
in such a short space of time.
“I knew you weren’t listening” She exclaimed in annoyance, raising her head from my laps but I quickly pushed her down with a small chuckle.
“I will listen now.” I said softly and she glared at me, warily.
“No you won’t.” She deadpanned flatly, and I had the urge to nod my head in agreement. I didn’t care about her childhood stories much but I acted like it, hoping she might spill any information about her mother but of course she was too careful
“Did your mother have a silver hair?” I asked curiously. It was strange seeing a human or even a werewolf with a silver hair. she was the first.
“No, she didn’t.” She responded dismissively, obviously trying to steer the conversation away from her mother but I wasn’t having it
“Tell me about her.” I murmured, my eyes locked on hers as though compelled her to speak
“Kaiden…” She trailed off in warning tone.
“Are you going to talk or do I need to force it out of you?” I asked sharply, leaving no room for argument
Though I played ‘nice‘ with her but I wasn’t exactly used to talking nicely when I wanted to get something out of you.
She sighed in defeat, “She was beautiful, always care free. She made the best pancakes, best meals actual” She started, laughing sadly at the memory.
“How did she die?” I asked directly and she narrowed her eyes at me.
darop
“I don’t wish to talk about it, Kaiden!” She said sharply, sitting up before I could stop her.
“Well I want to know what happened.” I demanded in a serious tone.
“I said I don’t want to talk about it. Stop forcing me to!” She snapped angrily, shooting me a glare.
I chuckled darkly, bending to level as I cupped her face into my hands. “I’m ignoring you yelling at me because you just happened to be important to me. Now are you going to say it or not?” I asked, my voice dropping lowe

“Why are you always so bipolar?” She asked with a irritation flicking on her eyes.
“It just happened to be one of my strong pecks” 1 admitted with a smirk, letting go of her face.
She huffed, mumbling something about being thankful she likes me If only she knew she should be the thankful one here She gets free passes on everything because she was my mate, no that’s wrong. She was someone I love
“We had a school trip… She started trailing off, as she swallowed. It was clear this was hard for her to do but I need her to so I could get the bastard that tormented her and torture him or her till he begs for death.
“Go on, love.” I urged firmly, patting her hair for support.
“It was outskirt the town, it was a trip to nature so we were to visit the woods.” She continued, with a bitter smile. “I had asked my parents permission to go but the declined. After whining about it for days, my mother accepted on the condition of coming with me? She added, snilling as tears welled up in her eyes
I listened attentively, placing my hands on top of hers to comfort her, though I knew nothing about comfort, having been the reason for many pain.
“We were already done with the school trip but always being the mischievous child I was, I stayed in the woods catching butterflies because I happened to fancy them..” she continued, her voice trembling, “My mom came looking for me in there, scolding me for running off without telling her
“We had already began leaving, when we heard it..the animalistic growl.” She whispered a tear rolling down her chin, her face turning into an deep scowl.
“We were still processing the sound we heard when it attack my mom, pushing her on the ground as I screamed in horror at the scene.” Her voice broke down, another strand of tears rolling down..

agony
“My mom screamed at me to run but I couldn’t, I was too stunned to move. I watched it tear my mom body apart, sounding through my ear as she screamed for help. But I could..I couldn’t help her..” She trailed off, breaking down into tears as I wrapped her arms around her body, pulling her into my chest as she sobbed.
“It’s okay, love.” I whispered into her hair feeling her pain in my heart.
“I killed her, Kaiden. She mumbled against my chest, her voice so small and broken.
I pulled away from her, forcing her to look at me as I held her face in between my hands, “You didn’t kill her, love.” I said softly staring at her face, but she shook her head in disagreement.
“If I hadn’t forced her..if I had just gone out like my other mates had then she would have still being alive. She wouldn’t…” She trailed off, her body trembling as she spoke with hatred for herself.
“You are not to blame for her death, Aurora. Blame the animal for attacking her.” I said comforting her, as I kissed the tears.
“It was no animal…” She clarified, trailing off as though unsure of herself. “It was like a human, but not a human because it had fangs, claws, and it’s eyes were red. She described, fear evident in her eyes as she remembered its features.
“It was a monster.” She declared, locking her e
eyes with mine and I smiled darkly.
A monster? I wondered what she could do if she found out I was like the monster she had just described?
to comfort
1 planted a soft kiss on her wet checks, before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss. It was the only way I her, to suppress the anger I felt by her referring to us–werewolves as monster. It was a mild jab to me, knowing she could
never accept me.
I pulled away from the kiss, placing my head on hers, my mind setting on finding that werewolf as fast as I can
